It was the only place i felt it would be out of the way while still being easy to get to if it was dead

Get a proper crimping tool, Don't use vice grips..You're spending all this money on wiring get a proper crimping tool. If you live close you can borrow mine..lol im in phoenix metro Az ..I have a smaller one.. And I have a Hydraulic type one and you can make your own battery cables up to 0/3 gauge and as thin as 12 gauge . Properly crimping your battery cables are extremely important..you want the crimp to be a solid mass of copper.. If anybody's reading this and actually wants to borrow my crimper let me know you have to live within were i live..I have no problem lending it out to friends or people who will take care of it

A few questions. Been watching plenty on this topic to get ready to move mine.
1: Why put the power distribution bolt under the truck and not where the battery sat before? Seems like would've been more convenient since everything goes there already.
2: For those wires to the alternator, that's the fusible link, and it should have a connector that goes to the battery, so why cut them instead of leaving it attached? Also, could you just eliminate that fusible link section all together and replace that whole harness section with the new thicker wire and an in line fuse?
3: No circuit breaker or fuse between battery and distribution bolt?
Thanks for the video, not too much regarding this in a hardbody 🤙

1 I did not put the power distribution bold under the hood because I am gonna shave the bay but if I was not going to I probably would have just put it where the battery sat
2 I had cut them because I would have been hard to keep it on the wire and fit a cap over the bolt and yes you could just eliminate it I did and did not have a problem with it and I have drove in in the snow and the rain
3 I do not have a circuit breaker or a fuse in between have not had a problem out of it
