You've inspired me to start doing my own modification projects on my car. My AC belt kept coming loose and squeeling (New belt) so I made a crows foot out of a peice of steel to lock the bolt on the tensioner to keep the bolt from backing out, Worked like a charm. Keep up the good work man! Can't wait to see this beast fire off. 👍
We called them a “Birmingham screwdriver” or “Brummie Screwdriver” (brummie = some1 from Birmingham). I dunno what the US equivalent place would be. People from Birmingham in the UK were simple, lovely, hard working, smart, soft, slow, sounded dim but not, etc. like a fecking enigma, but not.
Where TF else can you get auto restoration videos and the greatest video game program in the history of human civilization all in one place!!? Forgot to add fkin advices.
This is like watching Doctor Frankenstein build his monster. No good will come of it, but damn if it's not entertaining. Also Caveman Crimp sound like an 80s cartoon series about a cavemen who gets thawed out by some bozo kids and they get into shenanigans.
I was a mechanic for over 10 years and was spoiled with a car lift. Now whenever I have to work on something I absolutely dread it… love this Gearhead1000 series!!
I don’t know what the U.S equivalent is but in England to use a car on the road you have to have an M.O.T. Certificate to show your car is safe. Mine once failed on a couple little rust holes in the floor seals. I hope is not as harsh there mate.
Oh man! You are going to want a fuse block right on that battery. Seriously, this is a very dangerous setup especially enclosed next to a fuel cell. Also when you get ready to start that engine, hook up a booster right to the starter. You will cook the hell out of that cable by the time you get that fired up for the first time. All of your videos a frikin' awesome man. Don't know how you manage it all but please keep it going.
Jesse, if that lady threatens to call the city on you again, you just have to tell her that you’re going to call the city on her for wearing that Chester Cheetah T-shirt ! I wonder if there are orange crumbs streaked all over it!
This freaking car came straight from most mechanics nightmares XD "who the fuck used plastic wire holders to run this shitty jumper cable wire under this car?!?!"
I was dragging my feet to buy a heavy duty jumper set but ultimately decided against it because they are heavy, but not heavy duty.... the cheap ones are not actually copper, just copper coated and a genuine copper jumper is like 300 bucks. So it is better to just have a 70 bucks jump starter battery in the trunk.
The jump start cables may work for what you’re doing , however I wouldn’t try to run a mono block stereo amp off it . I don’t think it has the shielding to sustain high wattage sub amps . I had a guy I worked with melt the shielding and burnt his carpet in the car with really cheap cable .
Jesse... Brother... Solder those ends on the wire! Slide a nice piece of shrink tube over the end! Why didn't you run the wire inside the car? BUT! The jumper cables are fucking genius!!!
So I'm guessing, and I may even be wrong, that aside from the grift of it all... ...that the only difference between jumper cable wire and "legit" wire is the long-term integrity of the shielding?
If you bottom out on something it will short out. You should run that through the body, not under the frame. I have never seen a power cable run under a frame. PLUS - That cable isn’t water proof, so it will corrode internally.
Just hope the insulation puts up with the weather Also you see why it was cheap not solid copper strands lol Aluminum 1 gauge aint the same as copper Should have known better you aint getting that much copper that cheap Also another rule DO NOT go cheap on lifts/jack stands
@@primus711 If anything redo-ing it would be fun for him. You think he bought this car because he hates the work? Other guy is right, take some Ritalin or something and just enjoy the build.
i'm here for a bithead car show, this needs to keep being a thing
Agreed - better than the video game show for sure
Just needs a divorce and the show can expand. Haha :)
@@FearsomeWarrior 😂
I know nothing about cars yet I can't stop watching
There are no devastating electrical fires, only happy accidents!
Love this show.
Love the Bithead car show. Only you could get me so excited about a car restoration project. Best intro on TH-cam.

nice! hey. whatever's clever!
Awesome!!
Go Bithead! This car show is both entertaining and insightful. Can’t wait to see the Fu-kin’ Car turn on for the first time.
This is the best car repair/build and bs show in the history of human civilization.
🤣🤣
And you better believe that.....with a 4k grille. Pimp ma ride 2021
Excited! cant wait for this weeks car video as me and my girlfriend have watched every single one! cup of coffee for Bithead1000!
Making do with what you have = Caveman Crimp!! Loving the Car Show BitHead!
I would have never thought I would like watching somebody building a car so much!
Thank you for proving it's not just me that's rigged when trying to put screws in.
That's why I have hands not fit for a soap commercial. ;)
Can't work on a car, but damn if this doesn't inspire me to finish up some of my own projects I leave lingering. 👌
damn i learned more about how to work on cars by this man :) hes amazing
Another essential watch. Back in our teens we used hammers on our Motorcycles and termed them 'Gentle Persuader'
We called them a “Birmingham screwdriver” or “Brummie Screwdriver” (brummie = some1 from Birmingham).

Thank you for taking the time to film this. Super interesting :) i swear exactly like that when i drop screws
The macgyver of car building you sir are amazing
I trust you for some reason, I'll probably use some of these ideas, but my head still says to me this thing is going to blow up.
Nice cable trick, Yessie
This show is a staple of the Bithead 1000 show. Nice job brother.
The greatest opening theme tune to a TH-cam channel...
For sure - intro cracks me the hell up
Been doing this for decades brother JC Whitney used to have a set for $19.⁹⁹ 0 gauge 🤘

Maybe to prevent a fire or battery explosion there can be a fuse on the positive side? Explosion is better for the video though!
I was a mechanic for over 10 years and was spoiled with a car lift. Now whenever I have to work on something I absolutely dread it… love this Gearhead1000 series!!
I have seen them wire it up with 1/4IN copper pipe inside of a garden hose.. Its easy to connect and completely safe.
Hahahahaha!! What???
This is great content!
You're a great teacher . I appreciate that mistakes are included in the tutorial. And thanks for entertaining us , you crazy b*****d .

Lovein' this series. 👍
Enjoying watching this. This doesn’t look easy.
That’s a fine looking set of Lineman’s Pliers you have Jesse.
I'm absolutely loving this series. Can't wait for the next one. Great tip about the single-core cable too,

At least if you drop sockets in the engine bay they're easy to find for now. I'm pretty sure I have a full set rattling around in mine by now lol
My brother found a steak knife on top of his engine that he had been using as a screwdriver... I bought him a decent set of tools after that 🤣
Awesome show! I don't remember the last time I saw a drive shaft on a car...

Putting a 1997 3000gtsl stock back to running condition as a side hobby. Enjoy buddy.
I hope you're naming this girl Christine!
Usually jumper cables are copper clad aluminum. I have high amperage pure copper ones, and no joke they were $110.
This has become "how to crimp with anything BUT a crimp tool - the series" 🤣
I don't know why, but this show is giving me a very POSITIVE feeling! BA-DA-PSSSHHHHH! I know...
I just spit my beer out on the part that’ll just rub through into a start of fire 😂🍻love it

Why no link to the jumper cable wire? Sounds like a good deal.
Hey Bithead, I’m not very close to you but if you’re ever in Colorado you can come use my lift and welder anytime! Really enjoying the car content 👍
Bithead1000 has Pectoral muscles like the Australian oak. What kind of oil are you going to run in the beater with a heater?

Heck yeah!!
Is it pure copper or copper coated aluminum which corrodes very easily?
I love the car show.
That is so damn clever!
Magnetic is key. Got it. To fight that wear.. could I use flexi on the side of it?
Amazing stuff Jesse!
Hey, do you know if the Valley Stream market sales are still going in the fall? 🙁
So I'm guessing, and I may even be wrong, that aside from the grift of it all... ...that the only difference between jumper cable wire and "legit" wire is the long-term integrity of the shielding?
And at least with the plastic clips, you can go back later and put metal ones about 2 inches adjacent to them without replacing them.
I don’t know the answer but I like your question.
No, the jumper cable is cheap aluminum core rather than copper.
Don't let anyone tell you that you wouldn't fit right in down here in Tennessee....
