    My goodness I love Emmy’s channel. I never had a mother who could guide me through life, who I could go to for advice. Emmy has filled that gap in my life. If ever I need advice, or I feel lost and can’t find the answer within myself, I know Emmy will have an answer! What a blessing she is. ❤

    Such an underrated channel. This beautiful woman could replace all of the thousands of the psychology and self help channels on here that do nothing but waste your time. We don’t deserve her, yet she is here, to be a blessing in our lives. Thank you

    Once we get the awareness of yoga or pilates what can we do next? i have started journalling again. This time reframing it in a way.. not using "boring" black and white stationairy but literally introducing coloured pens & pads has changed my life. I like to keep account with myself & honour my thoughts & experiences and keep a dialogue with myself in this way. But what comes after awareness? if we notice we feel sad insecure or wanting change? i guess in an ideal world a relatiobship with a therapist/therapy but for now im using what i know & affordable avenues. I love your videos & delivery. I guess im asking what do we do with what feels like baggage with awareness. What can we do with a rotten past or deep stabbing insecurities

    You have a different "internal situation" from other people. I have never felt the way you describe when I wake up in the morning, especially not on working days. I have always hated public tansport, no matter how much I read while commuting. I have never been happy to go to work and to face all the hassle of life in general. You are obvioulsy a much more positive person deep down. You speak like a happy person. But many people are not this happy inside.

    • @EmmyvanDeurzen
      @EmmyvanDeurzen  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Watch my new video called Take care of Life and Life will take care of itself. I have had to learn to change my attitude, also. Nobody is born with virtues like happiness or positivity. None of us find it easy. Life is hard and often boring and sometimes impossible. But the challenge is to learn how to live it.

    • @lucillasallabank
      @lucillasallabank 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@EmmyvanDeurzen some people are certainly happier, more positive and more balanced due to their genetics and the environment they have been exposed to than others. I hope you can admit that if you suffer from depression (which is also caused by genes and environment) this is very difficult and for some totally impossible. You can't lift yourself up with your own braces.

    • @EmmyvanDeurzen
      @EmmyvanDeurzen  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@lucillasallabank Yes, we all start with some different genetic givens, but each of us has the capacity to make something good of what we have got. You don’t have to lift yourself up by your braces. You just have to learn to love the way you are and go on your way, step by step, moment by moment, learning to live in the best possible way. Nobody is doomed by their genes to becoming depressed, just more inclined to melancholic experiences, which can be good in their own right.

    • @lucillasallabank
      @lucillasallabank 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@EmmyvanDeurzen I mentioned environment too. The way you were raised, the parents you had and childhood experiences in general have a huge impact on the way you feel about life. Some things mark you for life without a doubt. When I speak about depression I am not talking about
      melancholy, depression goes a lot further than that. Mood swings, not finding joy in anything, not wanting to do anything when you wake up in the morning... You can't will yourself into a "positive outlook", however antidepressants and therapy can help. But there will always be something inside that isn't quite right. Pain, anger, inability to set boundaries, lack of sense of self can still be there after decades and they are difficult things to accept to have to live with. And they shape your adult life.
