Gives two totally different looks to the DJ, a dressy/flashy version or a sporty everyday version. But definitely blue dial either way for me!

Congrats on getting that model.....I've was on the waiting list for over a year and a half and never got the call before they were discontinued. The AD in my town said they just didn't see that many of them...at all.
I have an old one, a 1971 silver dail model with machined bezel. A classic of course. But I’m stunned about the beauty of this blue dail. And I think the smooth bezel makes it look less as a “grandfathers watch”. Still, no one will doubt that it’s a Date Just. Rolex has always been good at this. Development, but never at the cost of identity.
The Datejust was my one watch collection for 23 years until I sold the last one, which I regret to this day. Now with a collection of 8 watches I wanted to go back to the Datejust a couple years ago but the price was just too high. Went with an Aqua Terra instead, which is great, but I still miss the Datejust. It’s the only Rolex model I’ve ever owned. I had 3 of them over time. As you said, you can get different variations, which I did. Never had a blue one, very sharp.
I've a had a two-tone DJ (smooth, oyster, champagne dial) that I put in the safe deposit box after its last service 3 year ago...been wearing my Sub-C exclusively. I had thought about selling the DJ (which I bought new from an AD in 2014) over the years and I'm glad I didn't...for one they are hard to get, and two they are way more expensive now. I just retrieved it from the SD box and decided to wear and enjoy it.
I agree they’re amazing. I’ve had a couple of these. Currently I have the palm, smooth bezel and oyster. I had the bracelet all brushed and it’s perfection that way. Should come as an option.
Needed to hear this. Just yesterday picked up 41 mm Mint green dial, smooth on steel bracelet. Was having 2nd thoughts if should have gone with fluted bezel and jubilee. Was on the list for 2 years for Sub.
I love the smooth bezel because it still pops, makes the watch easier to wear daily and if it dents or scratches you can remove it unlike gold. It’s all steel except for gold indecies so better daily! Cool review

My first watch that I ever bought was a steel date just with a white dial and roman numerals. Unfortunately, I had to sell it for the money when I was struggling. Never really regretted it, but every once in a while I wish I still had it.
Used to have the 36 mm on the oyster and wife thought it looked too small. I sold it and got a an explorer 40mm. Miss the watch sometimes. Might get the date just again this time on jubilee 40mm.

What is your wrist size? I am 6'1" with 20cm / 7.87 inch wrist. Most of the time they have to add a link in order to fit my wrist. Except for my Omega Seamaster 300 which fit me perfectly out of the box.

I was thinking of getting a BB54 but after watching this video I am undecided whether to get a BB54 or not. Should I spend more money and get a Rolex DJ?
I have on now a Nomos Club Neomatik date which serves pretty much the same function as this watch (1/3 of the prices!). Literally a 24/7, unless I need to trade up for a more formal event. Although if it were to disappear I'd definitely think about a Datejust 41 as my 24/7. From the beach to the boardroom, most of the time. And the lume is useful on a boat at night. Essentially the same just a different dial I just feel the jubilee bracelet gives it the dressier kind of pop to the watch but then the classic smooth bezzle dims it down a notch where you can wear that to a formal occasion, on casual occasions, etc.

I have a chance of buying the 36 Datejust with the scalloped bezel for 8500 Euro. Keep in mind I will get 19% Back at the Airport in Customs since US Residents aren't subject to the German 19% Value added Tax. So it will be roughly about 7200 Euro or about 7500 US Dollars. I am just afraid that it will be too small on my 7.87(20cm) wrist. I wish the store had a 41 but 36 is the only size they have. All my Omegas and Tag and Breitlings are in the 40 to 42 mm range. I will go back to the store tomorrow and try it on one more time.
Sounds like you like 40mm + from your watches and you don't have a small wrist. Probably happier with 41. I know it's tough when one is available from an AD but have to make sure your happy with it.

DJ36 fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet is the only classic timeless example iconic Rolex you can and should buy. All other references are too much mutated from original DNA and no longer make sense to carry the Rolex logo.
Yes, that is the original. Thanks for watching.
3:00 reference 12600? You must be mistaken
It is Christmas, Let them stock, let tthem stock, let them stock.
Love to have Rolex have all the stock of all their watches but we both know that wont ever happen. This is definitely more accessable. Thanks for watching.
Pure class
Yes it is! Thanks for watching.
🔥🔥🔥
This watch is not actually an American psycho at least not worn by Christian Bale
Correct. It is in the book only. Rolex wouldn't permit the use of their name in the movie.
The day date is a meh for me. GMT is where it's at for me.
Yes, but very difficult to obtain a GMT. A day date is also a classic.
Yeah, love them bus yes, super hard to get and as stated the DD is the longest running model do something to that. Thanks for watching!
