    I like how Kevin spoke on Cus style how he said Cus perfected it over 55 years you got some people saying the style no good and that it takes to much energy tell that to Floyd Patterson, Mike Tyson and jose Torres all CHAMPIONS

      A-freakin-men to that!
      And fighters like Joey Hadley proved it could even be used by taller fighters (he wasnt a world champ but he kicked ass).

      That’s 3 guys in 55 years. It works for small compact fighters. If rioneynhad Lennox Lewis he would teach him that style and ruin him as a fighter.
      Rooney had vinny pazienza. Who’s best wins with him was 100 + fuggt pushing 50 Roberto Duran at super middleweight.
      And gifted mike
      Patterson was solid. Not an all time great and got kod a lot.

Cus Manager license got revoked he was battling the ibc they controlled boxing at that time tons of boxers called cus for advice even Ali when he had to fight foreman The style does work Cus died 1985 he didn’t have many teachers left of his style it’s not jus for short fighters anybody can move their hand and get to the side of their opponent no matter the height

      Tyson is my all time favorite fighter. His aurora creates eternal questions. 1. Ali vs Tyson in their prime? 2. If Kevin Rooney and Mike stayed together, would they have been undefeated, collecting said records? Imo Tyson beats Ali but even with Rooney might still come up short vs Holyfield. God bless Tyson and Rooney.

    When this man was pushed out of Tysons corner, that was the end of Tysons prime. A Rooney trained Tyson was the best Heavyweight there ever was. I've been following boxing for a long time, I'm not just a biased fan boy. My honest opinion is Tyson was the greatest Heavyweight prime for Prime. Ali has a greater legacy/career, but not Prime for Prime.

    The peekaboo style is perfect for short fighters and pressuring taller guys into making mistakes
    If the style consumes energy then that keeps the fighter in shape and hungry… the only problem Mike Tyson had was robin givens and Don king .. two birds in his ear that destroyed his discipline and made him fire Kevin Rooney.
    As Mike gets older his peekaboo style would mature and he would’ve dogged Lennox Lewis way past his prime

    • @rondocombatgems3949
      @rondocombatgems3949  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yes Cus told Mike not to get distracted and keep his mind on his work but he got lost in the sauce I’m proud of him now tho he in a good place

    • @davidantiwan930
      @davidantiwan930 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lost in the sauce for sure Hard to stay sane all that Fortune and fame
      he was so mature and disciplined when he was under his original trainers
      Teddy Atlas or Emmanuel Stewart would also been great trainers for Mike Tyson
      But I they didn’t want to deal with disciplinarian problems That’s why you saw Emmanuel Stewart tree Lennox Lewis and the Klitschko’s because they were disciplined levelheaded and they have a huge size advantage so you don’t have to be a skilled is a Mike Tyson when you’re that big and strong

    Kevin Rooney in my opinion is a great boxing trainer and since he was taught by the great cus dmato
    Only Kevin can be a great boxing trainer coach and only he can be like cus dmato history has proven it over & over great men teach others and those taught by that great man he takes up the slack that great man left behind so Kevin Rooney can only be a great coach trainer of boxing God bless him and I hope he continues his great work and maybe it's not too late for him and Mike Tyson to talk to each other now it would only be exciting to see that happen and it would be a great thing for them to do

As far as Kevin he was a fighter Teddy and cus taught him he was a student first then he started helping Teddy train Mike because it was so many kids but cus knew Mike was going to be a champion I’m sure you know the story of Mike touching Teddy nice butt and that’s why Teddy almost shot him cus vanished him from the gym Kevin and cus steeped up to train Tyson . So in my opinion I think Teddy dealt more with younger Tyson with his emotional side , Kevin and Teddy both knew the style but I felt like Kevin was more raw more about attacking he dealt with older Tyson so they both were good I look at Teddy as Bruce lee and Kevin as Jackie Chan both good at martial artist but jus different people 🤷🏾‍♂️
