This is the one I've been waiting for. HUGE Mark Canterbury fan. 1996, my family is taking a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee when my dad reads a license plate "HOG WWF". I jump up OMG That's Henry Godwin. About that time, Godwinn sticks his arm and head out the window. Biggest arms I had ever seen. He pulls into a bank and my dad without hesitation does a U-turn and pulls into the bank parking lot too and my 13 year old self is waiting by the bank doors when he walks out and I introduce myself. My parents would admit they were worried he would be a jerk to me since this was his personal time but to his credit he stood there and spoke with me for a good 5 minutes. Asking me where I'm from and we talked about the HBK collapse angle (last show I saw in person was the Raw where HBK collapses after an Owen Hart kick) then he took a picture with me and we went on our way. That is the day I became a Mark Canterbury fan.
Back when I believed wrestling was real and nobody could tell me differently. I was actually worried about hbk. Thats around the time I would videotape raws onto VHS, I wonder if I could find those tapes
@@JaredRayDDTHT it's not what it used to be. I have memories of walking the main street in Pigeon Forge on a Friday or Saturday night and there being small bands on just about every corner. It's no longer that way.
@@vipset87 I had just started coming around by this point to it being scripted. I remember the Taker/Yoko casket match where they end it with Taker escaping the casket and the giant "inflatable" taker. Rumble was the one PPV my parents would buy because it was one of my birthday presents so I'm crying because they killed Taker and my best friend "yo moron, you can see the strings on the inflatable taker" "no you can't" -sees strings- dang it. My "issue" with the HBK collapse was even though I knew the show was scripted, I thought the collapse was real and not part of the show. I love hearing Nash talk about this night and how they sold it to perfection.
This podcast has really shown me one thing , how genuine and nice Undertaker seems to be. For lack of a better term, he has an opening and comforting demeanor in the sense that I get why everyone would go to him in the locker room when they had an issue or problem. And why everyone listened to him when he spoke. That’s the kind of vibe he has. Just someone you want to hang out with
This morning I got pulled over and let off with a warning by a chill cop, saved a turtle crossing a road, and now a new Undertaker Podcast! Its gonna be a good day brother!!!🤘
Same here. But he went through a lot, personally. He lost his son 20 years ago from an accident. He was in rough shape after his death. Glad he is doing well. He looks great at 60.
First one to comment ❤❤❤Taker my momma was your biggest fan . She was mentally unwell . But I want to THANK YOU for the couple hours every week she could sit and watch you and her mind was calm . I cried when you were inducted . Her biggest dream was to see that happen and she passed 6 months before the announcement
I only say this because your so humble I really DON'T think you understand the impact y'all can have just getting a lady from Benton Arkansas out of her head for even a bit every week. Thank you and God bless
@@icykalmcthank you. I keep telling this story in every comment section. I just want him to know he was more than an entertainer or wrestler. However foolish it sounds she was at peace for a little while each week.
Never thought I would get a hee-haw reference on a 6 ft under podcast. But here it is. Rest in peace Roy Clark... Most underrated guitar player in history
Love Mark Canterbury and his gentle way of talking, very calming and full of good stories, always had a fondness for Henry Godwinn and a very solid worker to. Very good interview :)
Taker tells the best stories!!! For a guy that doesn’t think he’s very good at podcasting, it’s insane to me how VERY talented he is at podcasting!! He just comes off as someone you’d want to have a beer with and talk wrestling, college football, Ufc, etc. I LOVE THIS PODCAST!!
Man, these shows are so good. It's so cool seeing Mark just cut loose and be his normal self. He was kayfabe for so long. These are genuinely great shows.
Wow. Seeing how proud henry was about his pictures. All the stories. All the talking they done. And his biggest smiles were at the end when he gave him the pictures. That's surprising but awesome at the same time. You should get him a nice camera for Christmas. To take even more and better pictures
This might be my favourite episode. Henry's energy (combined with Taker's), the stories that were told, just everything exuded the most normal and realistic and chill conversation I've witnessed on here.
Urn giveaway is amazing.... I'm 40 years old been a fan since I can remember I'm so thankful and blessed that Mark decided to do podcasts. Only a few things I've shed a tear for in this life and watching him retire was one of them. The man isn't even the mountain that the Mt.Rushmore of professional wrestling is on. It's his world that the mountain is on. Thank you for all the memories Mark the sacrifices you made and the wear and tear you put your body through. It's been such a pleasure watching and listening to your podcasts it's a blast from the past kind of like waiting to turn on the tube to watch you on TV. Also as a Michigan fan....hook em horns we were beat by the far better team and I hope maybe this year is your year sir. 😊

I started out thinking that Matt was a friend of Takers, now I’m wondering if this is actually an elaborate Make a Wish thing. Matt made a wish as a child that he would host Takers Podcast should be beat the odds, and Taker didn’t think he’d survive so he agreed
I didn't like him at first but he growing on me. Yeah at first I was one like shut up I wanna hear from taker. But it is kinda nice when they have guests, because taker sees them as a peer or friend. And he looking thru a fans eye. And asks some good questions
The first episode i came across on YT was the one with Michelle and i thought Matt was Undertakers first born son Gunner….. still havent figured out How Matt and Taker first started out
I wish Paul Bearer was still with us so he could be on this podcast. He was absolutely hilarious in an interview I saw with him and Jim Cornette years ago! (I still can't figure out how to leave a review/comment on Spotify other than leaving 5 stars)
Matt doesn't suck. He seems like a good dude. Undertaker Rules as per usual. Henry was great on this episode. Also how does taker know about only fans? lol
Matt is fine. People are ridiculous and those that talk negatively about him are just jealous. He’s a very relatable, down-to-earth guy and does a great job. As somebody who’s been in the entertainment industry himself for 40 years, I can tell you that he would be fine on any TV network and I imagine he would do fine with a talk show. Simply because of his laid-back nature. So Matt, if you read this, do not take any of the negativity to heart. You are doing a great job and people are just envious of the position you’re in.

I met all of these guys in Pittsburgh. They were all really nice. Savio was the one I hung out with the most. He was funny. I remember Savio talking about how strong Henry was.
I'm so glad Taker decided to venture into this genre of podcast entertainment. Mark just seems like the coolest nicest dude you could meet. I'm from Lenoir North Carolina just a simple basic small town kinda vibe. Raised on yes sir yes mam minding your manners is taught very early. Mark reminds me of people I've met and know from around here. I think it's awesome all these guys are still best of friends. And, it speaks to how good of dude Mark Callaway really is. Speaks to how good people all these guys are. Establishing a friendship is pretty simple. But, keeping them is few and far between as they say. Btw I know exactly what HeeHaw is. My Grandpaw and Grandmaw watched that show all the time. They both arent with us anymore but i still charish those great memories.
Having a tight crew of Brothers on the road is a rare thing, it makes the work so much better. Trust in the ring and friendship makes the final product so much better!!

This is another awesome episode. What I'm loving about this podcast, is that, while there's still some slackjawing now and then. People still remain on point. Anytime a wrestler comes on here whether it's someone Undertaker personally knows or someone with interesting insight, it's going to be a great episode.
My first time watching Mark was on a dvd for wrestlemania 24 and 10 years later I got to see him live at wrestlemania 34. It was the year I graduated high school. It would mean a lot to have that piece of history.
