    Some great-sounding presets -- impressively creative and musical! I particularly like the glassy ones.

    How did you make the very first sound? It alone is a starting point of an amazing track. I’d love to know the secret behind it if it is somewhat explainable. Great sounds!

      Saw wave to start, LPF, ADSR envelope on the LPF with short attack, medium decay and medium sustain, link LFO to the LPF, then link the envelope to the rate of the LFO 😅

    I've listened to the videos about Cobalt8 and hydrasynth many times, and I really don't know which one is the best for my musical creations (melodic techno). What's your opinion?

    • @limbicbits
      @limbicbits  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Both would serve that purpose. Hydrasynth offers more features whereas Cobalt 8 has a nice sequencer which might serve as a great tool for inspiration.
      What I didn't like on the Hydrasynth is that it has a significant amount of latency, especially in more complex patches. That was one of the reasons why I eventually sold it.
      Plus, it can sound great, but it certainly isn't a sweet spot synth.
      I'd also like to add the Korg modwave to your list as this one - albeit the bad keyboard - combines the best of both synths.

    I bought this pack, some excellent sounds brining the Cobalt to life - another home run for Limbic Bits! Question; How do I access the 40 sequences mentioned on your website page? Cheers!

    • @limbicbits
      @limbicbits  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The sequences are part of most of the presets. Try hitting "Play" and you should hear the melody starting. In any case, these should be loaded into the second half of the sequence presets.

    • @RockLobster223

      @@limbicbits Thanks for the quick support - I've tried that import on a completely empty bank and all the patches appear to have a 'linked' sequence, but they're all empty and show as "Init Seq XXX" (XXX is a different number on each patch). I'm sure on Modal synths, that the sequence is a separate preset file which you can import into a Seq. slot. in the Preset Manager.
      Any ideas, as I do like the thought of having your lovely sequences! Cheers

      @@limbicbits Hi - Any progress with this? I saved preset on mine without a linked sequence and it was 137kb. Saved it again WITH a linked sequence and it's still 137kb, so the sequences are on your Cobalt but don't save as part of a Preset, but they save as a Sequence (a different file altogether). Trying to help here if I may! The Modal app allows you to save/load Sequences in the exact same manner as a Patch.

    Cobalt8 or Minilogue XD for Melodic techno production?

    • @limbicbits
      @limbicbits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Both are excellent for Melodic Techno but I'd also like to add Korg Modwave which is a bit more flexible and has also great filters. But it doesn't have as much character as the others.

    Great demo! I’m really interested on buying a Modal synth, was thinking about the Argon, but after to see this video, I think the Cobalt sounds more clean and warm, the Argon is also cool but too cold and sandy for me. Cheers!

    • @limbicbits
      @limbicbits  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks. I’d say that both synths have a slightly smeared sound character which can be great for pads but sometimes a bit challenging when creating basses or leads. But I haven’t checked out the new fw yet.
      Personally I like the cobalt a bit better but that’s just a matter of taste

      trust me - if I wouldn't need to show that disclaimer including all info as demanded per EU law I would just put up a simple reject all / accept all option. But even including youtube-videos has to be approved by visitors. So no monstrous super-evil-user-tracking from my side.
