Polyend Synth - My 2 Cents The Polyend Synth features three independent synths in a studio-friendly, compact format. It offers several algorithms, including Virtual Analog (VA), Wavetable, Granular, FM, Physical Modeling, and more. The real fun begins when using the thoughtfully designed grid views. These allow you to choose the grid layout for all three synths or just one, define different scales and root keys, and decide whether the scale of all three synths follows a master scale. This alone is a useful feature for live performances, but the velocity-sensitive pads with polyphonic aftertouch add even more versatility. The sound quality of the different synth algorithms ranges from good to very good, in my opinion. However, it truly shines when paired with the excellent built-in effects. My favorites are the Granular, Wavetable, and FM algorithms. The VA sounds are decent, but I would most likely replace them with a different synth in a studio production setting. That said, you shouldn’t view the Polyend Synth as a groove box. For that purpose, the Play+ and Tracker+ would likely serve you better. The Polyend Synth is a performance instrument and an excellent companion for other devices. Even if you don’t find every sound engine to your liking, it still functions well as a pad controller in a studio environment. ▶ Subscribe: th-cam.com/users/limbicbits ▶ Purchase Link Polyend Synth*: www.thomann.de/intl/polyend_synth.htm?offid=1&affid=397 ▶ Purchase Link Polyend Synth* Sweetwater: sweetwater.sjv.io/raQK1G ▶ Purchase Link Polyend Play+ * Sweetwater: sweetwater.sjv.io/WyqeP3 ▶ Download Polyend Synth Limbic Bits Freebie: polyend.com/whats-up/limbic-bits-synth-scene-and-preset-pack/ ▶ Book "Electronic Music Production": limbicbits.com/book-electronic-music-production/ ▶ Online shop with Patch Banks for Ambient, Techno, IDM and Electronica: limbicbits.com ▶ Follow me on Instagram: instagram.com/limbicbits
Thank you for your work with Polyend. I just got my Polyend Synth from Sweetwater this morning and I can't put it down. It is fantastic. I updated firmware and loaded yours and Oora's scenes to it. It's so much fun to play on. You almost can't make a mistake on it. Just sounds so good.
I wish novation took the original circuit in this direction instead of those dumb tracks and rhythm machines. Missed opportunity for them. This looks great.
It's absolutely capable to deliver dub chords but if that's your main goal, I'd rather recommend Twisted Electrons TWISTfm or MEGAfm plus a nice effect pedal.
How do you find the sound design on it? The UI seems easy to understand and there aren't tons of settings and tweakability, which seems perfect for quick and efficient sound design

What’s your thoughts on the Play plus? Have you tried the latest firmware? There has been a lot of backlash about this device, what’s your thoughts?
Thank you for the present.
And thanks for all the videos

So great to see the "Synth" get the Limbic Bits treatment
Well done. Cheers.
Awesome, thanks!
Think polyend did good with this one ☝️

Love that first Dub sizzle ... is that the wavetable engine? And, what are your thoughts of this as a Dub stab synth?

It is easy to understand if you have mastered some basics. But to get the most out of it, you might need to take your time.
@ thanks for your reply :) I’ll check that, my Polyend Synth arrives soon ☺️
Could you record the synth seq in the midi tracks of the play ?
I still have to give that a try! But it would be great to have given all the possibilities for chord progressions.
