    The starch solution has really helped me to lose and maintain weight. Have you tried the starch solution? Did it work for you ?

      Yes I've tried starch solution but am not losing weight. Need help.

      @@abi2270 How long have you been doing the starch solution? Sometimes it takes your body some time to adjust to this way of eating. Also have you eliminated all oils, nuts, seeds and avocados. Although these are healthy foods they can dramatically slow your weight loss. You might want to avoid these foods until you have started losing weight. Good luck to you.

      @@ChewonVegan Since 2018. Stopped cooking with oil but didn't completely eliminate nuts, seeds and avocados. What about flaxseeds and chia seeds? Do they hinder weight loss.
      Shall be more vigilant eliminating nuts, seeds and avocados. Thank you for answering me and for your support.

      @@abi2270 ;yes Flaxseed and chia are also high in fat and can slow you weight loss. If you haven't read The STarch Solution I would suggest reading it again and if you haven't read it you most definitely should.

    Her 4 fave everyday foods: potatoes, green beans, broccoli (with her "cheese" sauce) and an (envy) apple. For those of us without an instant pot, I'd guess that steamed or baked potatoes work just as well.

    Do you happen to have a link for your steamer? I love how big it is.

    Hi Debbie, came across your video, and wanted to ask, as far as 50/50 goes, I tend to eat it together, I don't eat the non starches first and then the starch, I rather eat it together. But reading everywhere, it seems like everyone eats their non starches first and then the starches. Does it matter?

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the idea of eating your non-starchy veggies first and then the starch is because non starchy veggies have the lowest calorie density and if you eat them first you will fill up on those first and maybe not eat as much of the starches which are higher on the calorie density scale. So your over all meal will be lower in calories. So if you are trying to lose weight that is the way to go. If your aren't trying to lose weight or are in maintenance phase then it doesn't really matter if you eat them together. I hope that helps.

    • @rorigurl
      @rorigurl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChewonVegan ok that does make sense. I really am trying to lose weight but sometimes I feel like I'm not suppose to use any condiments to make it taste good or I'm using too much of it. But if I want to make this a lifestyle of course I want my food to taste good. What is your advice on condiments or making your food favorable to where u look forward to eatting it again and again etc.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rorigurl I definitely use condiments. I love ketchup on my fries and cheese sauce on my veggies and baked potatoes. Sweet chili sauce is one of my favorites. those are just a few of what I use. Check out my channel for other ideas. If using condiments will help you stay on track then by all means use them.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you eating your veggies first and then your starch? That helps me. If you want more just make sure it is still 50/50 plate and only eat till you are comfortable full. If you still want more go brush your teeth or drink a cup of herb tea with a little monk fruit or stevia in it. That also helps me. Good luck💚

    Is one tablespoon of natural peanut butter a day really a deal breaker? I can’t imagine it being that big of a deal. I struggle with my sweet.. I can do everything perfect but I really crave peanut butter at night. Or anything sweet.

    • @ChewonVegan
      @ChewonVegan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think one tablespoon of peanut butter is a deal breaker. As long as you can stick to one tablespoon. You may want to try PB2 the powdered peanut butter. It has so much less fat then regular peanut butter but still tastes good. I also like to drink a cup of tea after dinner sweetened with a little stevia or monk fruit for somethin sweet. Sometimes I will brush my teeth after dinner and that helps the craving goes away. Thank you for your comment💚
