Why do you buy a sports car? For driving fun, right! The only car in the test where every driver was giggling like a school girl after her first kiss, was the Mustang.
Yes, if you combine 4,000 Lbs with 760 Hp, then, keep your right foot planted in it...your gas mileage is going to suck!
The Corvette is, generation one of a Chevrolet mid engine car! So, it is going to be a bit rough around the edges, but, it is a fun-naminal first try.
The 911 has been developing since the 60's, so yes, it will be more refined with; the steering wheel, seat and every button, in exactly, the correct place and being German made of the finest materials that the cars price will allow.
I like the way you did not say; this car is the best! Hell, they are all the best in their own way!

I have to admit, I LOVE THEM BOTH, but if i really had to go for one, despite the porsche even having a tune to 515HP and only 3.0 sec to 60mph with it, the GT500 is the most fun and hardcore car I have ever driven, thus ill always go for it!

  • @ProjectFairmont

The 992 911 is the best daily driver. I had one and sold it for an Alfa 4c. What!? It was not my daily, and it was simply not a fun car to drive on occasion, tall gearing means jail time when you wind it out. Also did not like the overbearing nanny systems. The 4C is a pure sports car, fun, quick, full of genuine character and always a thrill even when simply running errands.
Oh and about the 911 steering wheel; yes it looks good HOWEVER, it has a cheap black plastic inlay that you can move and squeak with your fingers and has fake Allen head bolts molded in, really Porsche? It’s a $100k plus car! AND, while the interior is nice you are constantly reminded that unless you spend $150k (very easy to do) it’s incomplete. The door panels when not finished in leather look cheap. The C8 has really made the 911 superfluous, if you can get past the badge...

All that video proved is that the GT500 is just a typical overpowered Mustang... fast in a straight line, not so much in the corners. If it weren't for those long straights, the GT500 would have lost. Put both cars on a tight technical course, and the GT500 would be going home with its tail between its legs.

The only reason the GT500 won is the straights... period. If you took the straights out of the picture, the GT500 would have lost. It only won because it has 760hp, and could rocket down the straights to make up for its subpar cornering. And it barely won, considering it was up against a car that has 265 hp less than it does. That's a whole Ford Edge ST worth of hp and then some... and it barely won.

Corvette looks the best inside and out easily. Reliability, cost, spares and performance..its got to be the BASE ENTRY LEVEL Corvette. The Corvette is not 0 to 60mph in 3.4 seconds where did they get that from?.it can do it in 2.9 seconds. Naturally aspirated. Unlike the porsche or mustang. Everyone who has seen the Corvettes interior, especially the 2 colour interior has said that the quality is superb....The square steering wheel is fine in a ferrari or mclaren..so it's fine in a Corvette. Love all 3 cars. Carlos Lago is a known Chevy fan boy with his expressed love for Camaro’s and the C8 Corvette, none of that is top secret. However, even Carlos can recognize the greatness of that GT500. Randy Pobst drove the Gt500 and the 992 Porsche 912 Turbo back to back on a track. The results... The 911 beat the “unrefined” American slob of a car, the GT500, by a mere 3/10 of one second. Ali stair doesn’t hide his Euro-snob affection for the 911. Saying the fit and finish of the 911, among other things, when compared to the other two is a “Designer Suit” I love 911’s but that C8 Vette’s fit and finish is right there with the 911’s. Sorry Alistair, it just is. A little bit of advice, these two American cars are just as good as that base 911, and both are much cheaper too. I love Carlos for his honesty and fairness. Alistair, you really need to work on your humility and give credit where credit is due. The C8 and the GT500 are both in the same class as that base 911. With a professional driver behind the wheel, like a Randy Pobst, he would prove my claim that the Americans are just as good, if not better, than that base 911

The way I see it the 911 is an absolute feat of german engineering, it can go head to head with the other two cars despite it being underpowered and based on all the reviews it handles like a surgical knife, the C8 is the evolution of the classic american musclecar, it's an icon taken to the next level on it´s way to competing with every european mid engine supercar and the GT500 is the pinnacle of the american front engine supercar, loud, visceral fast and reaching unthinkable levels of handling putting behind the bad rep most muscle cars had. Personally I´d take the 911 without a second thought but all three are spectacular machines.

C8 is fun to be in like a special occasion on the layout. GT500 can use a very serious update for the 95,000 ford is smoking crack with that half a decade old interior. Porsche have no faults on the interior but they dont take any risk so its very nice but nothing memorable

All the cars are great in their own right but I would definitely pick the 911 to go into my garage...porsche has arguably the best flat 6 engine, the best transmission, the best weight distribution, the best handling and the best interior of most cars on the road...I think there was a missed opportunity to make the Corvette an all wheel drive option...if you going to change a classic American sports car to mid-engine might as well offer a all wheel drive option...the mustang is great for what it is but as long as you can rent one at a airport they will always have a economy feel...

News for you ...you can rent a 911 at the airport also. Soon the C8 also. Let’s see the BMW 8 series looks like a Mustang. The new Volvo Polsar looks like a mustang. I think Ford nailed it with the look of the current mustang. Shelby , or Mustang GT PP2 you cant miss. C8 lacks some visceral feel and the boring 6500 rpm VS 7500 rpm on the Shelby.

Track pack Shelby would put those other two Cars to shame. Plus cost less then the 911. The 911 was way to quiet imo. Also the Shelby is a 10.6 1/4 mile car on a proper drag strip. Smiles per mile....Shelby. I owned a C8 sold it for a $17K profit and bought a Shelby for sticker. Any Ford dealer would still give me $5K over what I paid for it. A used 911 would lose $10K as soon as you turn the key.

There are different ways of measuring. Some measure from a stand still, while others subtract the first ft of the car moving (they call it "Rollout" and while some claim it only changes 0.1s in most cases it is more). This is one reason why some cars have different times when tested "in the real world" without the subtraction. Other influences are road surface, temperature and height above sea level. The important thing is that cars that get compared, are compared by the same messuring standards. And i guess they measured these cars under the same circumstances.

@@ken3923 what when the Vette is no longer a Vette? It's sad because these should've been called something else and they should've left the corvette. The c8 should be Chevies supercar.they marketed them well by saying they start at $60k 2 problems it 1 is they released it to soon it wasn't ready and majority of c8s have had tons of issues and the dash tells you to go to your local Chevy dealer. 2 is majority of the c8s sold cost $85-$95k and the pads are done after a few track runs and just for the little pads they cost $1100 which means the next variants are going to cost $200k to $300k so yes they will be fast but they're going the exotic route which means pricey everything dealer only servicing and we are losing the corvette you can build in your garage. Sucks!!!! Plus GM talked about no tuning for them which means you will be looking at a 15k motec ecu just to tune. Plus next variants are starting with a new engine which who knows the problems that will come with that. They needed a smaller engine to get the car better balanced. The c8 hadto much weight so people adding more weight with turbos are just making that weight and understeer worse. Plus if you listen what Biden said about the electric Vette doing 211 and he can't wait til it comes out means electric or half electric and gas. The car you buy is what you get no upgrading. I grew up around vettes. So Biden was out at GM and brought up the electric Vette I threw it on my TH-cam channel wayyy before my channel is ready. I loved what was going on with the car world Mustangs that can handle and mustang GTs running 8.00 In the 1/4 mile with a completely stock bottom end 760hp handling mustang Chevy with Camaro zl11le and the c7 zr1 and we'll dodge they just make no go tons of power. But it was a great time to live. But the Camaros gone next year and in my eyes the Vette we knew forever is gone. It's gonna be an unobtainable supercar. Which shouldve been badged something different and been Chevies super car. The Vette should kept being it's big hulking buildable car.

Plus all it takes is some sport cup 2s and the gt500 behaves a lot better on small courses. The Porsche has pzero tires on it which are the altimate for handling and traction. They have all weather's on the gt500 and c8 but c8 is midengine so gets its traction down. I'll but the base70k gt500 that usually beats both on a bigger tracks and you get the cheaper heated and cooled seats. Buy a set cup 2s and have 19k left to make a 1200hp gt500 that then will double tap those 2 cars
