      You can easily prove your point, by taking the band off of your wrist and hit the heart rate or blood pressure sensor. It still measures some magical heart rate and blood pressure with it being nowhere near you... So it is a bs...

    I have this and I can say I don't hate it. My screen is way brighter than yours appears to be. The battery life is 2 days basically. I don't think mine is as thick as yours but then again it may be that obnoxious pink band making it look that way. I don't have a complaint about the charge method...after 2 months I notice no diminished holding ability of the band. And for $12 I certainly dont expect it to last over a year. I have 2 $100 up24 bands that didn't even last a year so I do t want to hear how great those are. I had other cinese bands that didn't even work out of the box. The app can be slow to sync and I wish it shared info with Google...but again it's $12 so let's be realistic.
    Edit..one thing that could be easy to fix...the way it displays text messages is not so great...o ly the first bit of it shows with no real way to scroll. A simple firmware update though...but I don't remain hopeful. Again $12...

    this is actually the first 'fitness band' my mother got for me when i was 12. as a user for 6 or so months, its not really a great product. useable for telling the time, just about. anything, not really. the step counter is extremely inacurrate as is everything else, and the app is fairly low quality. for a kid, perhaps an alright gift, but for anything else, would not recommend.

  • @ronch550
    @ronch550 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A lot of these watches are dirt cheap that you can't really expect them to be any good. Some are ok but it's a bit of a hit or miss. If you want a good smart watch you gotta pay at least around $40, but prices can vary wildly so do your homework before buying. I got my Zeblaze Vibe 5 for $30 including shipping and it's been really great. No touch screen but I honestly prefer pressing buttons than fiddling with the watch face and getting it all smudged up. If you want a cheap smart watch try the Zeblaze Crystal 2. You can get it for about $20. It's a plastic watch that feels like a toy and it's pretty basic but it comes from a brand that's more than just a reseller company. I say this because many of these smart watches are made by ODMs that just resell them to companies like Lokmat, Microwear, Bakeey, etc. These guys don't even do anything to brand those watches and the watches still just come in generic boxes. The only branding you see is on the website selling them like Banggood, Gear Best, Ali Baba, and all the countless online merchant platforms like Lazada, Shopee, etc. Some examples are the L5 and L8 (Microwear, Lokmat, SUPP, etc.), KW19 (Kingwear, Lokmat, etc.), and countless others. Zeblaze is, at least as far as I know, designing their own watches and not just reselling stuff from a behind-the-scenes ODM or solutions provider. Not saying all those other 'brands' (quotes intentional) are crap and Zeblaze is much better; I'm just saying how the Chinese smart watch industry works, who's who in it (as far as I know), and how you can't really expect much for $10 or less. Personally if it's too cheap I just ignore them because I know they'll not only look cheap and perhaps give the wrong impression, but they probably aren't worth the time. Heck just buy a good burger.

    My unit looks identical, the box looks identical and the displays look identical but the display is much brighter.
    The box says Smart Band your health steward.
    On the top it has:
    GW180B
    ZG02A4103
    Made in China
    985/1000
    On the back it has the specs including:
    CPU: Telink Ti8266
    The BP reading is ridiculously inaccurate consistently under estimating the BP (101/66 when it's >=120/80):
    You can't normally measure a BP just by shining a light at your wrist/arm.
    Pulse reading seems to be accurate.
    The USB plug easily fits in the phone charger but it's the wrong angle to plug into some computer USB connectors.
    Can't read the manual easily because the text is so small and can't find an online version to read.
    The QR code takes you to either Android or Apple software. The software is called "Yoho Sports".
    Still trying to get bluetooth to sync the phone and the Smart Band:
    The Smart Band pops up as MSLM707
    BTW: If you're trying to turn it on. Hold your finger on the sensor at the bottom of the screen for 4 seconds.
    If you're trying to turn it off flip to the MAC (Media Access Control) address and hold your finger on the sensor for 4 seconds.
    You will get a screen saying "On" and "Off". Choose "Off" using the sensor and then wait for a few seconds and it will turn itself off.
    N.B. As the Smart Band turns itself on it flashes "Yoho" on the screen. So this must be generic hardware for Yoho?
    :-)

    This connector is not really a USB type. I had no manual in my box, so there is nothing that shows what way the thing goes in the USB socket. It is loose either way, and the screen does not show that it is charging either way. How would anyone know when it is charged? Very unhappy with this. And like was said, the strap is too hard to pull off. it is a really stupid way to charge something. After awhile, the strap would wear so it might fall off one's wrist eventially. It also should not have to be used with an app. It should be all on the screen. The whold thing is user unfriendly.

Also, it doesn't have to be extremely tight for it to pick up your vital signs, loosen the strap 1 notch. I don't know if you downloaded the app or not, but my screen is a lot brighter than yours. The app allows you to activate the wrist flick to wake the display and input weight/height/age/sex for monitoring calories burned and adjust screen brightness.

    Ha! I paid $0.95 for mine and it's easy to charge and use. It really doesn't keep good track of my steps, it overestimates but it gives me incentive! 😜 It does give accurate blood pressure, pulse and O2 Sat. I had a procedure at the hospital and was able to compare those numbers and they matched almost identically! That little sensor works and is quite accurate! It reminds me to drink water and to move more. I didn't give permissions for phone and texts so I can't vouch for those features. I couldn't figure out how the sleep feature works so when I go to the app, it looks like I'm awake all the time. For 95 cents, who cares if some of the features don't work.

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no sensor in this thing that is capable of measuring blood pressure, so it's guessing it based on other factors - which probably means it will only be right when nothing is wrong with you

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blood pressure cannot be measured by optical sensors. There are a couple of smart/fit watches (By Samsung and Omron that use a small expanding bladder to measure it, but even then, measuring it at the wrist is not considered reliable.
      Smart watches such as this, which claim to measure blood pressure, are just inferring it from heart rate etc - which means they actually tell you what your blood pressure *should be*, not what it *is*

  • @elixsa69
    @elixsa69 5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    Yea... shame you didn't actually install the app so pretty much only a half review. You make yourself look like you don't really know what your doing when you make comments such as the "raise arm doesn't work" without even checking the app then stating "in your experience." Your "job" is to review, so do it properly. Ours has a super bright screen, raise arm works, steps may be inacurate, but that's because its on a swinging arm, however steps were similar on a walk to a location and return. Battery dropped to about 20% over 5-6 hours, then we recharged. Next day was on 20% by the time wife got home from work aprox 11 hours...

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wrong about ONE point: the feature to turn on the screen when you raise your arm is off by default and is switched on in the app.

    I bought this, but it had a different name and everything. They're selling them under different names. I can't install the lefun health app at all, even though my phone easily meets the stated req for it. I did find a lefun wear app that I was able to download, but doesn't seem to register to the phone all the time. The steps function doesn't work, the sleep tracker also doesn't work well, and it's not waterproof as it was listed where I bought it. I'm also kind of disappointed, but since it does take heart rate. blood pressure, and spo2 readings I suppose its worth $8. Also I bought two and one didn't come with the metal part of the bracelet so its useless as is. They can take blood pressure readings because they are based on pulse mostly. Its not exceptionally accurate that way, but close enough for a daily check if you don't have other health problems and need a accurate reading.
    So, I got what I paid for. lol I shouldn't be disappointed, I mean, it did turn on. Sorry to leave a novel here if its inappropriate.

    Just from your review, its pretty clear you didn't do your research on it. I mean for the price what can you expect? I gave $8 for mine and its decent for that price. I've had no issues with the screen being bright enough. And you obviously didn't read the user guide or even the box it came in. If you had, you would have seen you can pair you watch with the app on your phone. Which gives you the ability to turn on the feature to wake up your watch when you raise your arm. I will say the band could be more comfortable and the usb in the watch band does seem like a faulty design. But overall this watch isn't that bad for what you give for it. You can't pay dollar store prices and expect a top of the line smart watch. So far I've been pretty satisfied with mine.

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I can only imagine you didn't watch the entire video. I thought I was pretty fair to this product in terms of acknowledging the feature set for the price. Your unit may have a bright screen - this one simply doesn't (and surely you can see that on the video).
      You're right about the app making the wrist activation setting available. Apart from that, I stand by what I said here.

    • @crazyfun5150
      @crazyfun5150 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AtomicShrimp actually I did watch the entire video. Me personally for the price I didn't think you were being fair to the product. Since its clear you didn't even pair the watch with the app. If you did get one with a dim screen I'm sure defects happen in products this cheap. So like I said you can't expect a top of the line smart watch for $8. Anyone with common sense would have to realize that. Also, I'm sure this product isn't for everyone. That's fine as opinions differ. All I'm saying is in my opinion you get decent quality for the price you are paying. It would be a much different story if this watch was a more expensive model.

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't disagree that this is more than the appropriate level of features for the price - like I said, I think they have just tried too hard for features this price point, resulting in some cut corners on overall quality. IMO, the right thing to do it pay a bit more for this feature set (and hopefully get better quality) or look for a slightly simpler model at this price

    • @crazyfun5150
      @crazyfun5150 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AtomicShrimp That's kind of the thing though. At this particular price point, I highly doubt you would find a watch with all the features of an expensive watch. So comparing this to a more expensive one is apples and oranges comparison. While this smart watch isn't top of the line it is a good watch for those on a budget like me. To be honest I'm surprised it has all the features it does for the price. Based on my experience so far I'd rate the watch a 3 out of 5 stars. With only the faulty usb design and the band being slightly uncomfortable being the downsides I've noticed. True the features could be better but for the money not a bad deal imo.

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definitely not comparing this to more expensive things - I'm pretty much considering it all on its own - I just think it is trying to reach higher than its capability - I find that in some ways impressive and admirable, but in terms of practical utility and wearability, I don't really like it

    U r trying to find fault with this product that cost less then a meal. It's good but not great due to the low price

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is the conclusion I reached in the video. This isn't a bad product, it's just trying to compete above its price bracket, and failing because it's too cheap to be any good

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I do wonder sometimes if people misunderstand the intent of my reviews. It isn't ever about 'finding fault' - I just try to understand and test the product as if I were going to use it. Sometimes this means I say negative things about the product, but I feel they are things that have to be said. If you were thinking of buying this, you'd want an honest review, not just a positive one, right?

    • @richardhancock8743
      @richardhancock8743 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AtomicShrimp an honest review requires the reviewer to utalise the product fully by using it as the manufacturer intended.
      I don't think you have given it a bad review, just not as thorough a review as you could have.... Yes this is criticism but could you not see it as constructive criticism.

    • @AtomicShrimp
      @AtomicShrimp  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, normally I would review very thoroughly, using the product for days or weeks. That just wasn't possible here due to the strap comfort and display visibility issues, so I had to conclude it there. I just think this device is trying to do too much, at too low a price, to do any of it well

    • @richardhancock8743
      @richardhancock8743 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AtomicShrimp honestly the only thing you can say you have tested thoroughly would be the strap.
      Your refusal to download the companion app based on permissions it asked for is unusual as it only asks for generic permissions
      1 to access photo, media and files
      2 to take pics and record video
      3 to make and manage calls
      4 access contacts
      5 view/read sms
      6 access location
      By denying the permissions you are ultimately denying a smart band to be smart and are unhappy when it doesn't do what you expect of it.
      As a reviewer we expect you to take the risks that we are scared to take.
      I'm curious about the other smart band you mentioned in this video, did that one ask for any different permissions or did you shy away from that companion app also?

    I think I figured out what’s going on and why you’re having so much problem with this as far as the backlight. they do come barely charged. I had one that was completely out of power and the other one was almost and it was super dim like yours. And for anybody who’s having connectivity issues with Bluetooth not wanting to show connected to the device this is just simply an updated version of android that will not work on these older smart bands. Newer phones will not work with these old smart bands. This is why we got them so cheap. My LG V30 will not connect but my old phone will...it never went thru an update & runs an old version. Old phone runs & operates the band beautifully tho.
