    Gosh dang it, enharmonics. Seeing Db and C# in the same chord just doesn't sit well with me, especially since the key signature is Db. I guess that goes along with the atmosphere and theme of the song.

What i needed an explanation for (and when i say "explanation", i mean more than a short sentence in the style "It's just that", I'm not versed in music theory but not completely ignorant either, and I'm here to learn^^) What I asked for is: How the accumulation of harmonic layers is able , when it reaches a certain point, to suggest another layer which isn' t technically there?and i'm sure the more layers you add, the stronger the phenomenon gets. Like a game we play sometimes, where someone have to guess a word. you can answer questions to help but never directly, and the person finds it by "silouetting", if i may say it that way. Am i making any sense?

    • @Flamarius
      @Flamarius ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@lhidalgo7243 Sometimes, when the voices are perfectly in tune, their harmonics can be interpreted in our brain as more notes than are actually sung. Pretty sure Adam Neely has a video on it.
      I had the same impression, but i think here it's more to do with knowing the song beforehand, so as soon as the harmony became full enough, i could imagine the original melody.
      Edit: I also think it might be the opposite of implied harmony. A melody usually implies certain harmonies and here we are maybe just automatically extrapolating it from the voiceleading between chords.
