Parallel 5ths in of themselves don't really bother me. Power chord voicings basically require them. They only become an issue to me when in a vocal or string arrangement, where the sound is very pure, so they draw way more attention to themselves. They're also surprisingly difficult to sing, because it becomes hard to hear your own voice separately from the voice above you, so try not to use them for 4-part vocals especially!

@@andybaldman a major second is still dissonant. the alto and soprano staves sing a held E, F#, and G# at the same time at the onset of the words "moon" and "you". The G# is also the major 7th of the A major chord being held in the bass staff. Sevenths are still considered dissonant to the western ear, as are minor/major seconds and of course the tritone. The leading tone being held in one of the top voices begs for resolution, creating a harmonic dissonance.

Why are yall so hard pressed about the auto-tune? It sounds so good though.

Interesting to see so many people complaining about autotune. I wonder if the same people show up in the comments when an artist is performing outside and uses reverb.

Wow. People are so fucking harsh. He tried to create a beautiful melody and succeeded (in my opinion). Even if he used Autotune... maybe he's not at a superb level of vocal excellence yet, should that bar him from creating something nice?
That's what gets me about these anti-Autotune purists. They want to ban anyone who isn't an amazing singer from making music that sounds and feels good.

It’s extremely clear that he used pitch correction, and way too much of it. It ruins the harmony for some people because it sounds so fake and like a midi file rather than a real voice. Pitch correction is extremely normal in music nowadays, but this is overdone. The robotic sound doesn’t fit this harmony
