sound tests:
stock(case, plate and pe foam) - 3:22
no case foam with gmk spacebar - 10:21

The cover shot is perfect
Even as someone who hates the box-on-box kind of side profile, I think I am fine with this one due to that little bit of extra piece on the side. Although I don't like the rotated switches. Some of my switch/keycap combination doesn't play well with rotated switch orientations. :(
Luminkey, Neo, and the latest Rainy75...are we entering a new era of custom keyboards where entry level aluminium customs are even cheaper than some big-name mass produced plastic prebuilts?

This seems to be a pretty decent option versus the Neo65 and MKC65. It seems VERY similar to a Neo65 but with a two piece case so very reasonable.
Edit: I think you can get a similar sound profile with a Neo using the FR4 plate.
Totally would love to see Luminkey80 vs Neo80. If you can get a Chosfox Leo80 added to that mix for comparison would be perfect.
The Leo80 Ill be taking a look at VERY soon! But i agree, i think a demo with all the boards at once could be very cool and helpful
As a person who built a chosfox i dont think that its good for the price especially since shipping is $38 so its $164 barebones
This checks all the boxes for me;
- tri-mode hot swap PCB (1.6mm)
- low front height (17.28mm)
- thin side bezel
- nice side profile
- ISO layout
- stepped caps lock
There is NOTHING on the market that can compete for ME personaly. Have the cream, black is coming, thinking bout the silver.

Get one LK65, but encounter an error when I load a saved layout with VIA. Anybody else encounter this?

What’s your favourite linear switch? Just bought a Wind x98 R2 and trying to figure out what switches to put in it. Looking for a clacky but not too loud build.
What plate material? That's going to have more of an effect on sound than switches are
@@AislingPhoenix That’s true. It comes with a PC plate.
@@MMMM-vh5wl PC plates are usually lower pitched, I'd definitely go long pole if you want to brighten it up. I've enjoyed Zenclack switches personally but I've also heard good things about Durock Pianos

I prefer the sound signature over the Neo, but it's purely preference for that.

@@parisgiovanos766 yeah absolutely. This might be very unpopular opinion, but since jris65 or qk65...every entry level 65% boards looks more or less the same, everything, and the budget boundary makes these boards can't be any prettier (pretty in the budget boards means boring). Sure it sounds better and more configurable, but idk how many boards with these same looks will enter market again...I mean, just run the neo65 production forever (as long as possible) and we can get enough of these same looking entry level boards coming again and again, just go on the higher tier keyboards! or maybe...radical change of how these entry level boards should looks. Even kbd67 lite is stupidly looks similar than these newer boards, who knows that somebody out there still pleased enough by kbd67 lite, but at least it still looks similar
