      @Cal Quinton Everybody has free speech in this country. Just because you disagree with something David believes in does not mean that he should not be able to voice his opinion, as should you be also able to voice your opinion on the matter. Anybody can campaign for anything, regardless of whether or not you believe that the general public opinion in the country is against what David is campaigning for. David can campaign against Brexit and you can campaign for Brexit. This is what a democracy is all about.

      What's wrong with you people? The fact that he did it in the first place is enough, do you honestly not realise how dangerous motor vehicles are when not following the laws of the road? Anyone who can pull this shit in the first place is clearly a bellend. They can still learn, but anyone who does this deserves to be named, shamed and punished.

      But with points already on your licence and the time to chase Mickey up. This is more the result of poor choices than pressure. Sorry, cannot beat being a fool. Plus, how do we not know he was "playing the victim", "feel sorry for me bro, let me off". When he did not have that many points. Mikey did the right thing. Too many folk play victim and squeal let me off. Only when caught of course. Happy to risk the lives of cyclists.... Other points did not work, only a ban would teach him a lesson (if he was telling the whole truth there). He's a stranger - we do not know anything about him. As you see, a lot of cyclists come cruising around that corner and while it is all well and good to tell them to be careful it's not expected that they would have to watch for oncoming traffic in the wrong lane. So sure be careful but when ya head on a cyclist in the wrong lane and kill them that is your fault.
      Also pay mind to the fact that this isn't his first offence either fella. He admits to having a lot of points already. So he could be only 1 unlawful turn away from killing an elderly crossing the road. Wisen up fella, he is totally in the wrong.

      @@grahamlive Although I agree with your premise about the expoitative nature of the gig economy for those engaged in it as their main source of income it still cannot trump the laws of the road which are in place for all our safety. Otherwise if we take that to the nth degree then all these jobs would be shortlived as the road based workers get disqualified. If the job cannot be done in a certain time then that's just the way it is. It takes longer. If you cannot make it pay then it's not viable. Recourse then is to the employer or platform (such as certain Uber drivers have done in the UK). Not easy I know - and the system sucks for many - so I'd probably agree on many points over exploitation and health and safety from the less than honourable employers etc.

      Yeah, I'm glad he just got a course. OTOH nice people like him taking risks still pose danger to others, speaking generally, and if a driver already has many points it seems like they're not learning from the points system as they should be.

      Who is sad? You're sad. You're crying salty tears because bad driving is being caught and punished. You're salty because you identify with criminal drivers. On the other hand, I'm fairly happy most of the time.
      Most of all I'm happy that your reaction shows how much traction this idea of good citizens videoing and reporting road crime has gotten in your head.
      Tens of thousands of cyclists run video cameras and will report bad driving around them. From now on you'll remember this conversation every time you see cyclists on the road, and you'll think about some of us filming you. Some of our cameras are very easy to see, like GoPros, and some are nearly impossible to spot. Have fun looking for cyclists' cameras on the road.
      I'm not even in the top ten most prolific reporters in London.
      I suggest you drive properly around us all. Feel paranoid. Google your own number plates. Regularly.

      I think each course offer is at the discretion of the police force. I don't believe previous points come into it. Maybe the person who reviewed this one went easy due to the driver's remorse and lack of any aggravating factors. Previous points weren't for similar behaviour?
      Even as someone who lives in Scotland and is rarely in London, Addison Lee's reputation goes before them...

      This wasn't during the pandemic, and any job losing he did himself by driving dangerously. Don't drive like he did, and you won't risk your driving licence and/or your job. Given how quickly he reversed back I would say it was a genuine mistake by a contrite driver. I think he deserved some latitude. I am surprised that you make no remarks on the awful cycling and motor cycling. Amazed pedestrians were not hit when crossing. Also when encouraging drivers to reverse , i cringe as in their stress they could hit someone or something. Seems like the police should stake it out to me.

    • @JHJHJHJHJH
      @JHJHJHJHJH 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe it was a mistake. But assuming it was; if he didn't spot the keep left signs, was not aware of the danger of driving on the wrong side of the road at a blind corner towards a junction then he deserves to have that pointed out to him by the police. What else was he not paying attention to? It's not a moral judgement. Points and fines are there to deter these 'mistakes' and make people pay proper attention when driving a large metal box close to vulnerable human beings.
