I watched this entire video. Good content and cool to see how the CT trends around the 500 wh/mi range where as the YP hovers around 300ish on road trips for me. But with the bigger pack of the CT it still is roughly the same 2 hr drives between charges give or take. Now if CT could produce the 300wh/mi then we are really talking some range. I feel the tires have a huge negative for that. I noticed that your based in Cleremont. I’m also in Orlando and visited the new store last week. Nice that they merged service and delivery at that location and we don’t have to go to Eustis anymore.
I'm on a mission to let people know they can install the rear door hinges and door strap on the front door if they need it to open wider. I transfer my wife from her wheelchair, having the door open wider makes a huge difference. Her 300 lb wheelchair fits great under the tonneau in recline position. I tried to include a link for pictures but TH-cam doesn't let you post links I think. I know this, is off topic for this particular video. But you have lots of subscribers who might benefit.
@@domg7359yeah me neither.. I’m in NorCal and the chargers are extremely abundant. I just can’t speak for elsewhere I hear it gets really crowded in LA
same has happened to me in my CT, location say's its 250kw but charges around 15 to 60kw, same level 2 charger at the house charges the YP at 33 mph, CT at 22 mph, not great but a clear battery thing
What's kind of sad is, the total cost of $502.87 to charge is actually more expensive then an ICE vehicle getting 18 MPG with an average cost of $3.55 a gallon in addition to the hours spent charging. The CT is not a road trip vehicle if you trip in it often. You're not saving on gas. It actually saddens me to hear that the CT is comparable to a vehicle that gets 17.5 MPG. And I was just as excited to see the CT in Austin at the EV convention standing right next to you before the launch of the CT. I have a Honda Ridgeline 1st gen, I know CT is going to be an upgrade for sure, but was really hoping for the range and efficiency that was announced originally. Seeing you get less then 200 miles on 80-85% battery is a kick in the nuts.
Hopefully with the range extender the CT will get better mpg. But kw costs aren’t fixed and can vary like gas costs, in some places it costs more and some less. It’d be nice if someone compared an 18 or 20 mpg car with the CT on a long roadtrip.
I prefer driving my CT on road trips. I've done many. The charging cost is roughly equivalent to gasoline cost for a comparable ICEV, but driving the Tesla has advantages over a Ford F150, for example. On a 2400 mile trip I'd have to stop 3 nights for rest to avoid falling asleep at the wheel. I couldn't drive my ICEV more than 600 miles a day without experiencing much fatigue and stress. Today, in my CT with FSD engaged for 99% of the way, I can easily cut out one of those 3 sleep stops, avoiding a $120 hotel stop while reducing the overall trip time. It's a different way to travel, but not a sad way.
The EVject is a great idea and I want one, but I do worry about the high temps you were experiencing while charging. Were you seeing those same high temps without the EVject? If it’s hotter while using the EVject, I would suspect connectivity is less than optimal. And it may get worse as the handle and EVject get hotter. But it may have nothing to do with the EVject, especially if you’re getting a sustained charging curve well over 200kw, you’re probably gonna get some heat! Anyway, have fun and stay safe young man.
Hi Justin, When I bought my first Tesla, I used your referral code. Now, nearly four years later, I'm asking you for a favor. I'll be hitchhiking across the States starting June 8th, in search of kindness. Besides witnessing a rocket launch, my other wish is to see a Cybertruck up close and personal. If you could help make that happen, I'd love to share some awesome Tesla road trip stories with you.Cheers, Tim
One of the things I notice about EV road trip videos is that a lot (majority) of the time spent on the video is sitting at the supercharger and going through the details of the charging experience and efficiency status. That's all useful information, but it would be nice if I didn't have to increase the playback speed at each SC site to reduce the overall time of the video (73 minutes on this video). Surely road trips in an EV aren't mostly about fast charging?
So the Bearded Tesla Guy is also a little nerdy. And that’s cool, some of us like it, and sure it would also be cool and entertaining as hell if he’d share some video of himself stumbling in and out of some strip bar after a long day of driving and charging. But he’s just too dedicated to his mission - making you fast forward through the parts that you like the least 😀
Has Tesla confirmed when you will at least get Autosteer Beta in your cybertruck? 2500 miles on freeways … seems like you would want autosteer at least ?
How come you can’t just do 1 big charge ? How come each video I watch cybertruckers charge in small amounts and hip hop to the next 50 chargers ? Just asking bc I do want a Tesla but that seems like a downside to me
Because of the charging curve, the first half of the charge is fast then when you hit above something like 70% the charge slows way down. It saves a bunch of time maximizing the charging efficiency by arriving at a low state of charge and bouncing to the next charging station and so on. Others likely can explain it better but that is the gist.
I had a model s for years and if you’re flooring it between stops you have to stop more often. The charging curve thing is true but if you’re taking like a short trip that’s not across country if you stay under like 75 you can go further and spend an hour there and be good to go to the next stop. Most of the issue I see is folks flying and then having to stop often. With an ev you actually on the hwy lose about 20-30% range so you need to basically maximize your range by reducing speed.
5 minutes into the video, and I'm already thinking how terrible road tripping in a Tesla is. As a 2nd car Yes, as the only car in the house...No Thanks.
A Tesla is a sweet road tripper, you're not blowing gas-gas station then tired at your destination. I made a cross country trip on a level 2 charger vehicle, that was slow, two weeks to get to key west from WA

Great video! Thank you for all your work putting it all together. Awesome!
In some areas,, full supercharger lots are so common that everyone knows the drill - where to pull up to the "line," whose first, second, etc....
As a three-time Tesla owner, and many long trips, that first charging stop was not a good advertisement for non EV owners!
Just showing his experience. I’ve had derated supercharger sessions before
Never had to wait myself, 7 years. Only once had to move stalls. Never seen a whole station limited like that...

What a trip!
It was the trip of a lifetime!
Great trip. ( you might want to check the video description. I think it is from you Utah to Florida trip.)
You are a stronger man than me. That update waiting icon would haunt me in my sleep.
20:50 - I have model 3 sr+ and it never wants me to get to the supercharger with less than 15%. idk why
Loved the burning truck at the end! 😅

I was at W Silver Springs SC in Ocala on Mother’s Day, worked great. I wonder what happened.
Man you wait soooooooooo long to plug in when you get to chargers. Why not plug in and then discuss the next moves?
2 questions, what is that video symbol on the left of time and that black circle to the right of the lock symbol?

"Usually when there's an issue at a Supercharger, it's fixed right away."
I'm guessing this was before Tesla canned the entire supercharging division.
think for yourself.. don't just parrot what the corporate media says ...
that has not change at all still upkeep is as good as always . cant just repeat what someone else said ...
10% love ❤my Tesla Model 3!
lol
I saw you at Meijer in Fort Wayne Indiana, right!?

Just go into navigation settings and disable trip planner. That way it won't auto add the charge stops.
Wish it had the range of the Chevy EV truck???
Has anyone seen a digital rearview mirror for the Cybertruck?

Wait.. you said I ate a salad or something 😂😂 u don’t know what u ate ??
Where the charger is iced you should have parked the trailer in front of the car so they couldn't leave.
Can you share the source of that vinyl QR code? I want to put one on my truck that goes to an FAQ doc I created.
Bro spent more time at the charing stations than on the road. I have a MYP but I wouldn’t roadtrip with it. 😂😂
This is a 1 hour video of the tesla map screen

This would stress me out. The not charging when you have to go. Gas is so much easier.
🤘🤘🤘 cu soon ✌️
14:02 Semi gives a wide margin to CyberTruck
I thought you were towing a trailer with a Cybertruck? I never saw one in the rear view camera or where you unhooked it.
That was one of his other recent videos. He must have used that video's title for this one by mistake.
Jesus, dude. Slow down. 88?
Polestar2 is Chinese elizabeth.
Its pronounced “bow-mont”
Nobody cares and we aren’t excited!

Do you drive 6 hours straight without taking a bathroom break?
