Maiming a hero then finding out that their zone is just the perfect tool to handing minions is always a nice feeling. Valk covers so much range she wipes out minion lane in like 5 seconds

Been maining valk for most of the game. Really excited to see someone with a lot of experience and skill rep her. Might be a major skill issue on my end but I feel I get why she isn’t very commonly played. Her post rework moveset has always felt really clunky to me. Offense can be often one dimensional against certain matchups and there’s not a lot of opening pressure against people who play patient imo. Good I-frame dodges or dodge bash moves really limit your options and the current cast is flush with at least one of those traits. That being said, there’s still a trove of things to enjoy with Valk but I think we really should see some of her old move elements make a comeback. Great vid dude! I mained her on Xbox a long time ago at rep 34. If she gets a glorious Valkyrie hero skin I will pick her back up again in PS5 because that will be legendary
Not bad. As a Valkyrie master I'd encourage you to actually attempt more deflects on heavies if possible. You described it as a walmart deflect but superior blocks, valkyrie's specifically, is stronger than most assassin deflects in both damage and utility. Valkyrie's shoulder pin deals 24 total damage, most of that is bleed. She can also do a guardbreak from a successful superior block if you want a ledge or execution. Even if OOS your superior blocks can be used to stop enemy chains or even get a GB if it's a heavy attack. Try for more external crushing counters in team fights. That heavy spamming raider clip was excruciating so I'd encourage you to try crushing counters in situations like those instead of just blocking or dodge attacking. It's safer for you and it's another fast UB for opponents to worry about if you go for them. Learn the Full Block-Guardbreak tech. You can get a free guardbreak against any attack that hits your full guard as long as you exit the stance fast and perform a guardbreak during their recovery. You'll have 24dmg instead if 18dmg, plus heavy histstun. This is especially handy against characters like Orochi if you're in a bash/Storm Rush mixup and on a proper read you can turn that would-be heavy parry from Storm Rush into a 24dmg GB punish. Keep at it, cheers.
It's because she's pretty difficult to play. Once you manage it, she's incredibly fun to play and flows well, but other hero skillsets don't translate very well to Valkyrie's.
