Honestly this is the best channel ive ever seen for this! You are very in depth and the ways you teach and demonstrate are super helpful. I appreciate your work and you're helping me ALOT with my first vehicle! (1979 c10)
Great instructional video as always. You make it look easy. Have really been enjoying all these older truck repair videos. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge with us weekend project novices. Appreciate it.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I have watched alot of the videos. but not any metal repair or panel replacement for the 1947-54 series. I have a 1954 chevrolet 3100 and a 54 Gmc I'm getting ready to start Restoring. Videos on cowl panels, Rear Cab Panel, Floor pans, Pillar sections etc.. I've owned them for more 30 years and time to give them a makeover. I'm a fair welder but I could little use some of Dave Welch's instructions. I've watched almost all of his videos even the old ones. Great help.
@@wilsonwilson9074 Ok, that's good info. We'll poke around and see if we can find a donor truck that needs some or all of that work. Good luck with your projects!
How's the knees Dave ? Picked up a cool little knee saver awhile ago it's a small heavy foam pad you can pick up at harbor freight, probably 24"×12" really works well and fairly cheap. Nice work btw 👍
Just wondering, where did you find the replacement piece that you added on. It looks perfect for the application. I've got some section repair work coming up, and not sure where to find the metal for my replacement. Nice video, thank you!
Hello Brothers! Just a small question..i see and enjoy many of your body works and weldings. I restore a 1960 Apache Truck with new sheet metal in cab. So i just wondering what thickness you use in your welding core? And do you use gasless flux core or with argon gas. Thanks for answering. Robert j
If you were to remove the entire floor at the same time and maybe a rocker panel as well. Really just anytime you feel like the cab "could" be weakened. There's really no wrong time to brace it, we always say it's better to be cautious than reckless.
I do that underneath on the rockers when I do them, basically because it's easier than laying on my back drilling holes. But when the holes are easy to see and access, I prefer to drill them in place. Honestly, there's no right way, either way works!

I'm collected all of (Brothers Trucks) tips & how to project videos putting on blank Cd & keeping them.

Yea. Do it right. Just wait until you know in your heart that it's right....

Thanks!
Great vid ... Build On
Thank you sir!
Do you have a floor pan/rocker that extends all the way to the back of the cab?
Our floor pans will handle a rear of the floor repair.
Thank you very informative

Under what circumstances would you brace the cab?

What size welder and what settings do you use? and what size wire?
That's it I'm buying an old truck
Yeah man, that's the right attitude!
Wouldn't you drill spot welds hold first in the new panel be4 u weld ?
I do that underneath on the rockers when I do them, basically because it's easier than laying on my back drilling holes. But when the holes are easy to see and access, I prefer to drill them in place. Honestly, there's no right way, either way works!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV ok I was just always Taught to drill hole and clean metal behide n use weld though primer.. like the videos
How do you repair rust over windshield n doirs
Can someone please give this dude a small rolling chair to work on totally sucks working on concrete
We've offered every conceivable comfort option but Dave is stubborn and set in his self destructive ways. We just let him do what he wants to do.
I'd use that hoist for every job possible, working on the floor like a dog as Dave said gets hard on knees.
Why not drill those bottom holes before you weld the piece on?
