Love your tours with you both .... Don't cry Justin went from a little fur body to your hearts he travels with you always ...love never leaves ... Hugs
Yes, these walks are great when we cannot visit Japan in person. Thank you for your walking commentary all along in this relatively unexplored local area. Please keep up the good work and stay healthy and safe!!
I love your enthusiasm, Shinichi! It makes every place you visit more exciting. Thank you both for showing us a local gem like Jujo Shotengai. I enjoy seeing well-known/historic places, but I truly relish discovering lesser-known, interesting areas like this. When I travel, I tend to go for less touristy places that allow me be more deeply immersed in the local culture. Love to you both. ❤️❤️
Arigato, Shinichi-san for this video. I'm sure those Japan lovers who only equate Japanese shopping with Ginza, Shibuya or Akihabara, will find this one a worthy round right after pandemic restrictions are over. Jujo reminds me of Taipei's Xi Men Ting, the same kind of shops, food stalls and take-aways. The atmosphere is simply heaven for those who love shopping.
Thanks for visiting this area. I stayed in an AirBnB around there on my trip in early March 2020 before the pandemic closed Japan. Brought back some great memories. I saw some places are still in business. Glad to see they survived the tough times. Looking forward to more videos from spots some tourists don't venture to.
Thank you Sinichi for sharing with us your walks. Absolutely love exploring the shotengai and the neighborhoods of Japan. One of my favorite things to do in foreign cities. More of these videos please. Can’t wait to go back to Japan.
You're so adorable Shinichi. I love you enthusiasm at exploring a new place. I'm the same way. I love exploring somewhere new or trying new foods. It's amazing what you'll find when checking out a part of your own city that you've never been to before. Looking forward to part 2.😊
I absolutely love these kinds of videos where you just walk around your neighborhood and tell us about all the attractions around it. I feel like I’m there with you, it’s like a mini vacation from my own home.😀😀🥰🥰
I genuinely don't undertand how those restaurants make a living with such low prices. If I lived close, I would buy there each day. Those veggie croquettes looked really good.
Another enjoyable walkthrough 💖💖 Haha I like the *bloop* teleporting sequence, and how cool that we ended up a few steps into yet another adventure ✨ I look forward to the next video! You really make it feel like we've been teleported to Japan and are being taken on a stroll with you and Satoshi. Oh no, that railway crossing rebel would have ruffled some feathers 😂 I could never, lol. It's so interesting to see the sights, especially the new buildings, and how an authentic outdoor marketplace looks. As a bonus we get to enjoy your pleasant company. Take care you two and thank you for the effort to let us tag along on these adventures 🙏🏽
This takes me back! Whenever I visit Japan I always book an airbnb right next to a shotengai, its very convenient and you always have something new to discover.
Hi Shinichi and Satoshi how are you all doing good to see you guy's thanks for bringing us along on ur tour looking for gem yummie thanks stay safe ❤️😘
My life dream has always been to visit Japan. I have an extreme love of Japanese food and culture. Yall ever make it to the states I will give you the best food tour you could ever have. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Bokksu for sponsoring this perfect video! I love the walks and everything about this! Thanks so much for filming during the hot days. Please take care! Looking forward to the next video! You're so cute guys! Love u both very much ❤️
Higashi Jujo is where my mother was born! Thank you for sharing these videos with us. We were hoping to travel to Japan next year, but it looks like that may not happen. Maybe 2023..... being hopeful❣
@@Shinichisworld Hi! Thank you for asking :) Mom was very young and left Tokyo when she was about 4 yrs old. She moved to Minakami in Gumma Prefecture because it was a safer place for her to live with WWII going on. The only memory she has of the area is that her mom and dad would take her to a small park in the area. The name of the park was Asukayama (hill??). We both miss Japan and we hope to come visit again. Please take good care of yourself and each other. You are like part of our family and we so much enjoy your talks and food videos.❤😊
Thanks for another fun video. This video reminds me that I visited Jujo shotengai /shopping streets more than two decades ago. These street food look amazing!
Japan's Chuka Ryori (Japanese-style Chinese food) developed in the late 19th century. The Chinese dishes were adapted to suit the tastes of the Japanese. It is not considered wholly Chinese or Japanese, but a hybrid cuisine. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_Chinese_cuisine?wprov=sfla1
Love these kind of videos, especially the walking part! :) Could you tell me the name of the book you mentioned? The one on local streets in Tokyo? Thanks a lot!
Thanks for making these walking videos! I'm in perpetual lockdown in Melbourne, Australia so this really helps soothe the travel bug during this pandemic lockdown. ありがとおざいます!
Hi, OMG, you and Satoshi are amazing! I've just arrived from work and I got your uploading in my mobile.Thank you very much for showing us this hidden area! 😘😘😘 My family and I are looking forward to going back to Japan and we are taking notes!!!. My little son enjoys eating yakitori and yakisoba and he also misses yakiniku ( he tasted this dish in Akihabara). Greetings from Spain ❤❤🇯🇵🇯🇵🇪🇸🇪🇸🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵❤❤ Stay safe guys! Looking forward to watching more videos from you! 😍😍😍
The shotengai are so enjoyable to walk around. I hope you were able get some food to take home. It was so good see you and Satoshi out and about. At least, there wasn't a crowd .
Thanks for sharing this hidden gem. 🙏Will definitely have to visit next time! Bargain hunting and gotta try the cheap eats!! Looking forward to part 2 of this shotengai video!
Nice video. I really enjoy when you make this walking videos, reminds me of japan when I visited. You should make more content like this! 😊😊😊😊. Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴
Another good one! I really love these walks through neighborhoods. I noticed that the video looked very realistic and sharp. Not sure if it is my computer or your camera but it looked very nice. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this. Didn't know there's a cheaper Shotengai in Ginza. I've utilized Ameyo-cho in Ueno; Kurimon market (covered shotengai) in Osaka too. Really enjoyed shopping for fresh fruits, foods, souvenir sembei crackers, rolled cakes, Meiji and KitKat chocolates, preserved dried seafoods, etc. there. If one knows where to look, not all is expensive when visiting Japan. Just research and learn.
It's cool to see physical media still being distributed, over here there are a few chain retailers that still sell DVD/BluRays and small Video Clubs still exist for the people who are too stubborn to get newer tech.
with my work schedule anymore.. all my days run together.. i legit know what day it is by what wrestling is on..raw= monday, nxt=tuesday, aew=wednesday, impact=thursday and smackdown = friday. don't watch all of them. but it helps figure out my days..lol
Living where almost everyone drives from place to place, I love and appreciate these walking videos, especially showing the shotengai (sp?) - so many interesting shops, so much yummy looking food, and a more real feel of daily life. Thank you Shinichi and Satoshi! Stay hydrated! 😄
Had a giggle about the closed cow bar. If that was here in Australia there is no way someone wouldn’t have taken the miniature cow as a souvenir to be never seen again…
Seeing that Bakery in the beginning always hope you will be going to Linde in Kichijoji and try their German Bread as it is by far the best bread I have had in all of Japan as of yet.
I love it when Shinichi says hello to the cow at 12:02 🐄 By the way, is there some settings wrong with the camera? A lot of the lights in this video flicker crazily.
Japan is FULL of modern buildings completed in 1999 like this shopping center. But practically no new buildings built 2010 onwards. Ive been to Japan, but they have nothing of the mega shopping malls I saw in Singapore or south east asia.
I always get the word for those towels and the word for the yokai with the big nose confused. These neighborhood walk videos always get me daydreaming about living in Tokyo.
You mentioned you bought a Tokyo guide book, that’s how you found out about this shotengai… what’s the name of the guide book and is it available in English?

I love to see normal, everyday life in Japan. Especially those walks! :)

You should do these neighbourhood videos regularly! This kind of wandering and exploring is exactly what I miss about Japan. Love it guys! 👍
More coming soon

I've been going to Japan for 20+ years and I enjoy these local places more than the overly tourist areas.

I am suddenly completely starving... Shinichi.. I hope you got lots and lots of take away...
I absolutely love these kinds of videos where you just walk around your neighborhood and tell us about all the attractions around it. I feel like I’m there with you, it’s like a mini vacation from my own home.😀😀🥰🥰

Good morning from Kentucky 👋 Love you guys ❣Have a wonderful day and weekend 😊
Good morning from San Antonio, Texas , USA. Good to see you both. Have a blessed day .
What an endlessness shopping ally. Like anywhere else, lots of stores are closed....too bad and too sad. The food looks so tempting. Take care
16:58 the cook fish is super expensive, it's so cheap in my place, the red groupers I think yen1600 , crazy crazy expensive
Greetings from Lebanon. Can't wait to be able to visit Japan and meet up with you guys, love you sooooo much😍💜💜💜💜💜
LOVE this so much!! I adore shontengais so much. Thank you

Seeing that Bakery in the beginning always hope you will be going to Linde in Kichijoji and try their German Bread as it is by far the best bread I have had in all of Japan as of yet.
I will check that bakery out next time
We have shop in Singapore selling DVDs, and it comes with free DVD player rental if you didn't have one! Haha!!
Wow
A feast for the eyes and the stomach!
Specialty hard to find Japanese snacks??!! Wow that’s interesting!
I love it when Shinichi says hello to the cow at 12:02 🐄
By the way, is there some settings wrong with the camera? A lot of the lights in this video flicker crazily.
I noticed that at 3:25 the shop said “close 25:00”, as if it were time. I’m curious to know what time it represents, or what does it mean
Exactly what time would 25:00 be? Does Japan have more hours in the day or what?
Greetings from Manila, Philippines!
I really wish we had something like shoutengai in Norway.
Great stuff
I love walking with you ... just wish I got the exercise too 🚶♂️🚶♂️ 😁
For sure, we prefer those charming streets than modern Malls.
Talk about a good amount of self control guys!! :-) I'd be wanting to taste test each stall while walking through. ROFL
It was tough to resist.

I always get the word for those towels and the word for the yokai with the big nose confused. These neighborhood walk videos always get me daydreaming about living in Tokyo.
Ahhh yes. Tenugui is for the towel and Tengu is for the yokai.
You guys found our secret Shotengai in Tokyo! My favorite Japanese pudding shop is located in this Shotengai:)
Ohhh we have to go back to try that
I want to go so bad, I want so many foods!!
Yummy, I am hungry
Surprised that Tokyo has changed so much.
If you switch your camera to PAL video frame rate (25fps) it should stop the flickering of the lights.
Wow so they have Bangladeshi snacks too, please try some Bangladeshi snacks too if possible 🙏
What is the sign at 3:20, store hours 11:00-25:00? I've never seen 25:00 before! Any one know what that means?
1:00AM
Sometimes it’s clearer to write this way. If you write like 11:00AM to 1:00AM, people might mix it up with 1:00PM.
Close 25:00. Wonder what does it mean?
me too....
Why did that ramen shop say close at 25: 00? 🤔
Lawrence omg. 😆
You mentioned you bought a Tokyo guide book, that’s how you found out about this shotengai… what’s the name of the guide book and is it available in English?
It’s a Japanese guide book so unfortunately no English
