Shinichi, don't apologize for venting a little. I think everyone is COVID fatigued. The numbers are going up in Hawaii too. I've been looking for reusable things. Utensils, bags, containers, straws, cups, etc. It comes in handy when we were are out and about. It keeps my mind off the pandemic. Mild irritations like paper straws created a project for me.

Hang in there, Sinichi. I can imagine the entire world is tired too. It's been really hard for me, lost my job and haven't worked regularly since the pandemic. Haven't seen my family. It's like living in a constant state of dread and panic and despair. I rarely step outside my building, not even to exercise.
Here in the Philippines people have stopped dying in the streets as they waited for treatment (or less now) but people are so careless and jt makes me sad. Our frontliners are tired. Our farmers are in trouble. Our government wants us to just bend over and take all the horror without decent direction or anything.
Hang on. It will get better.

"Without decent direction" seems to be happening around the world.
I have lost what little faith I had in our government here in Australia.

I understand Satoshi preferring to be at home. I read something about creating a life you don’t need a holiday from, and completely agree. It is good to go out, and see people and places, from time to time - but I think we can have an obsession about always doing something or going somewhere.

Ahhh Shinichi I'm so sorry that you're feeling down. I totally understand Brother. I'm in agreement with you. I too, don't see an end to this any time soon. However, on a more positive note, I want to remind you that the videos that you and Satoshi produce, bring joy, positivity and laughter into our lives. So, the occasional rant video is totally understandable. You're only Human. I love you Brother and BTW your hair looked fine hehe.

The situation you described in Tokyo and your state of mind are identical to the situation in Los Angeles and my state of mind. While there are always positive signs to be found and a myriad of things to be grateful for the reality of Covid sits very heavy on our hearts. Stay strong and keep "ranting" if you need to. Love to you and Satoshi.

I'm immunocompromised and I cant leave the house at all even though I'm vaccinated, here in California and things are getting really bad again. In a weird way it's really comforting to hear you talk and complain about it, like it reminds me that we're all having a hard time and we're not alone.

Wow, what a great spot to stop and have a snack. Don't apologize for sharing your feelings, they are totally valid. I remember back in March 2020 when things shut down here in the states we all thought it couldn't last more than a few months. Boy were we wrong. Our daughter lives in Niigata and I was supposed to visit her but had to postpone it. I was sure I'd be able to go this past Spring but that didn't work either. Now I'm not even sure if Japan will be open to foreigners this next March. I miss our daughter sooo much and hate having her so far away during all of this. On a happier note, though, that donut looked delicious!

  • @lizinacan151
    @lizinacan151 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

COVID is a nightmare here in the States just like it is everywhere else. I'm somehow still hanging in there but I'm still terrified to go out of the house to go to work or just to get some groceries because of people not being vaccinated and/or wearing masks (I'm fully vaxxed and I always wear a mask, but it doesn't fully work unless everyone does it). I don't mean to be a downer, but I feel hopeless. Like this is gonna go on forever. I miss feeling even moderately safe in public, you know?
Thank you for being so honest and open about your feelings. I'm so sorry about all of the cases and deaths in Japan that I know could've been avoided. Please continue to stay safe and take care.

I was on here to catch up and escape in videos of Japan, but now I’m so grateful to see we’re all going through the same feelings and hardships. The donut looked delicious and that area looks like a great place to take it all in and process. Watched your video in Shinjuku recently too and it’s so depressing to see all the closed businesses that were bustling when I visited in 2019. I hope it gets back to a new normal soon and we all stay safe! 😘❤️

You weren't "foolish" Shinichi! None of us could have imagined the virus so affecting the whole world.
Two years ago I booked my next visit to Japan (for October/November/December 2020) I was sure that when we started to hear about Covid in March it would be over by Autumn. October came and went and of course my flight ✈️ was cancelled. I just transferred my plans to Oct/Nov/Dec 2021.
Now I understand that I won't be coming this year either ... even though I have now had both shots AND the booster - and have adjusted my calendar to Autumn 2022!
Really hoping and praying 🙏 for 2022 to bring better things for all of us. 💝
In the meantime your (and Satoshi's) lovely videos keep us connected with Japan so thank you both for that. 👏👏

Do like we used to do on a saturday, between the matinee shows we were working in london. About 5 pm we would go for late dim sum. We would order a large pot of Jasmine tea for the table and pour in a quarter bottle 20ml of whisky, delicious 😋. It goes great with the tea and the dim sum. We had to be a bit sneaky pouring it in but it was worth it. Naughty but nice. 😎

I think many many people are so over this and feel the same as you. We were all so looking forward to getting back to what was normal and we thought we were almost there when SMACK, Delta comes and gives us another dose of the unfortunate reality. I guess one way to look at it that might not seem positive is that it can always get or be worse so try to thank our lucky stars that things aren't worse and just hope that there will come a day that we can go back to what it used to be. It's still hard to believe these times we are living in.

Thanks for keeping it real! Being outside and enjoying life helps! I had Covid bad and was in the hospital. I’m so happy to be alive!! I enjoy seeing Tokyo! It is definitely frustrating for everyone. You are not alone. I live in Maryland. Most of our citizens are vaccinated but, even here the numbers are going up .the Variant is making it bad here too!! It is extremely frustrating that there are still people who will not get the vaccine! Even after what I have been through, I still have a daughter who refuses to be vaccinated! Oh, BTW Our local coffee/ Donut shops are selling pumpkin flavored everything right now! 🎃

Hang in there. Japan is being more cautious about COVID than other countries, which are now opening up. Hopefully, things will open up in Japan soon.

Keep positive! Most of the time happiness is just our brain chemical. Probably spending time and seeing less fortunate people will make us appreciate even the smallest of things in life! Appreciate our health and get eat anything we want. Great channels! Relax! Don’t think too much! Perhaps do some meditation and exercises! Cheers!

How bad is the pandemic in Japan? I moved from CA to AZ and Arizona has been open for almost a year. We don't have much covid here.

In the US, you can get a free Krispy Kreme donut every day just by showing your vaccination card. I think they're just the plain ones, not the good kind like you had.
I'm glad you can take a walk for us and we can see what's happening in Japan. The many vacant storefronts of small businesses that have closed is sad to see. I always enjoyed visiting the delightful shops and the shotengai in Japan, there were so many interesting things to explore.
I miss traveling! I'm like you, I don't see the pandemic ending anytime soon because there are just too many unvaccinated people in the US. I escape by watching videos made by people in other countries, it's like traveling vicariously.
You and Satoshi take care of yourselves and stay safe!

Dear Shinichi-san, my heart goes out to you.... I can totally understand your feelings and kind of feel the same. Working in a emergency unit of a hospital there is no day I can escape from "it".
To all of you who are worn out and tired of the constant worrying: Hang in there - it will pass!

Hang in there, Sinichi.. I feel you, honestly, I do.. I am a travel bug, here in France, going around the world during summer and school vacations.. We went to Japan for a month each time for the first time in Sept 2018 then in Aug 2019.. We were soooo looking forward to go back again in March 2020, BEFORE we knew how bad covid would be.. OMGGGGG, I miss Japan AND international travel BEYOND belief.. I am a great risk, because I have asthma, am fully vaxxed, BUT, still wearing masks outside, even though the French gov't did away with outdoor mask wearing several months ago.. I won't take ANY chance, gotta protect myself.. Even though I'm fully vaxxed.. Stay safe and keep your chin up.. I know it is hard.. We are gonna have a 4th wave when schools go back on Thursday, I'm sure of it..

..this was really a good and nice talk, thank you 🤩😊...and keep your head and spirit up...in other parts of the world (like Afghanistan) the people have more serious problems...like being blown up by a bomb 💣 or having your head chopped off 🗡..i remind myself of those things, when i start whining around, and i was ill of Covid myself but recovered, so...moral of the story...just keep going and make more videos in your case 😇🤓😊😄😁🤣

There are covid clusters of delta variant in NZ, so the nation has been under lockdown for nearly 2 weeks now.
I feel like I should have enjoyed the covid-free NZ more before all this.

I am really grateful and reminiscent of times before covid which also makes this whole thing even more depressing :(
I haven't thought about how depressing it all is like this yet, I think Shinichi talking so candidly about it has made me realise it.
I just want to be able to have the freedoms we had pre-covid even if we don't exert them constantly, ya know.
      Just have those options.

Covid numbers are going up in Canada again, though this time the ones in the hospital are the non vaccinated (unfortunately that means a lot of under 12 children are effected badly) My own city is low with numbers but it's a university / college city that when students come back I'm a little worried. It exploded last year.
I'm looking on the bright side that not being able to travel yet means I can save up to go to japan just a little longer.
