    I'm making a booking for nexon ev max tomorrow. My driving is about 200km everyday from Delhi to Panipat and back, which costs about 1600-1700 a day in my Innova excluding tolls.
    So basically I'll save 1400-1500 a day plus maintainance. Which will be about 45-50k a month or 5-6L a year.
    Plus I'm getting a subsidy of about 3.5L total because ev policy in Haryana is relatively recent. Subsidy will cover my down payment.
    According to my calculations, currently it costs me about 55-60k a month for fuel in Innova, which can cover emi of the new car, plus driver salary and I'll still save. Basically I'm getting a free car with a driver and extra cash each month.

      @lonebug7194 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      dude, u r assuming wrong that after 150000 you will need to change battery. That's not what really happens. Your phone battery comes with 1 year or x cycles. But after 1 year, do you need to mandatorily change battery ? No. The battery capacity reduces to 80%. Same is with car. The charge capacity will reduce but u wont need to change. By the time it require changing, you would've already driven more than 5km. Even if u have a diesel car, you will need to change car itself and new car will cost 2x after that much year. While in EV, the petrol cost u will save in those years will be sufficient to replace battery. In a fuel car, fuel cost and car change cost >>> ev battery cost and at teh swme time, we are saving envromenet and bring down noise pollution too

    I'm almost at the verge of switching to electric. I have the nexon in Petrol AMT and my running cost is almost 11-13 Rs/km. This is because most of the running happens in the city (Which is Mumbai) and due to current traffic situation I end up paying a lot more than I should. It's only when I go for the occasional highway drives to lonavala or pune, the running cost becomes around 7 Rs/km.
    I have done a lot of research on EVs over the past year and from what I have learnt, i dont think you can put anymore battery in sub 4 meter cars. EVs internationally are over 4 meters so they are able the cram a bigger battery as well. In India, the size of the nexon is perfect to get around the busy city corners.

Chargers are currently installed by many different agencies 1) Central Govt (EESL ) 2) State Govt 3) PSU Companies like BPCL and others 4) Electric Car manufacturers like Tata Motors , MG and others 4) Independent providers like Statiq and 5) every home is a charging point :-) . Also RWAs and companies are giving this facility to its stakeholders . Lets say Tata and bye bye to Petrol :-)

    1) is there any analysis on capax and opex cost?
    2) what is the resale / exchange model?
    3) trustworthy to take on long drives?
    4) with increasing Ev onroad would charging time will increase or decrease?
    5) is overall carbon emission same or lower than petrol or diesel cars? Battery manufacturing is very polluting process.

      Hybrids in the segment are costing more than EVs right now. All three strong hybrid (uc, GV, city) are costlier than Nexon EV and give very paltry range. You cannot drive very fast (40kmph limit for EV mode) and if you depress accelerator fully, the engine will assist as well so it is really finicky even when it comes to using the EV mode in strong hybrids (source team bhp user review of hyryder)
      Further even strong hybrid improves mileage only by 5-10% (not talking about ARAI figures, real figures)
      And you pay almost 2-3L extra for strong hybrid. Mild hybrid is even worse.
      Only PHEV are useful hybrid with actual range but no manufacturer will make those because it will kill sales of their ICE cars

    • @dakshkumarsingh909
      @dakshkumarsingh909 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shresthsonkar9207 these hybrid cars are expensive because they are a segment above Nexon. When Maruti puts the hybrid tech in dzire you will get better acquisition cost than necon. Anyway, I am not talking about specific car, but trying to compare ev tech vs hybrid tech in medium to long run. A combination of improved hybrid engines and clean fuels with ethanol mix, can be a better alternative, because you don't have fret about range anxiety, don't have create charging infra (single biggest challenge in ev adoption), and cheap fuel plus better mileage will lower running cost. Also the change for OEMs is also incremental for hybrid engines rather than setting up new drivetrain from scratch. So the moot point is wait n watch, but drive your existing car judiciously.
      People tend to justify their expensive mistakes and this guy just drove across the country to do so.

      @@dakshkumarsingh909 swift already has hybrid in uk but mileage is nothing to celebrate at 54mpg or 23kmpl
      That’s the real mileage since European authorities are much more strict about false claims of mileage than Indian ARAI.
      This said swift sells at £16K which is exactly same as Nexon EV XZ+ (16.2L)
      Even if we say not Nexon, ZS EV is above Nexon segment? Agree? ZS itself sells for 22L which is same as the Hyryder top spec strong hybrid and city hybrid.
      ZS gets even more range. As far as charging infra goes, we are already at such a position where people can undertake pan India ride in EVs (like shown here)
      It’s not 2010 anymore, infra is in far better place. Even tier 2 and 3 cities have EV dealer and DCFC.
      Compared to petrol pump which costs crores (our extended family is in the pump business) to setup, DCFC uses already existing electric supply and located at relevant parking places like malls, offices and restaurants on highways
      It barely costs 10L to install a fast charger of 50kW compared to petrol pump costing 10x as much before land acquisition

      Let's not shy about the fact that EVs do require planning but only if one wishes to drive a very long distance without taking a break. Family trips on Indian routes, 250kms easily take 4-5 hrs and one requires to stretch, eat and get refreshed. I don't think many of us need to or can drive for more than 600kms a day. If one has purchased a vehicle keeping his usage in mind, there are EVs in India with a much higher range capacity to do even 600kms+ trips in no charge on the way. Ofcourse, it works the same way like in a engine vehicle. You need a bigger battery with a bigger car, you gotta pay more for it.

Secondly as it was an highway drive and we have lot of DC fast chargers to charge our cars in an hour (depending upon how much SoC one reached with) and move ahead. Lastly one can easily on a very decent speed do 1050kms in a Nexon EV Prime too ..
