  • This is the real reason you DON'T CREATE CLUB head speed in your golf swing with DRIVER BUT also with your irons too! I see low handicap golfers make this mistake, HIGH handicap golfers make this mistake and mid handicap golfers too! Creating club head speed is essential to leave your golf buddies speechless and hit the golf ball LONGER and STRAIGHTEr with driver!
    In this Lesson Alex elliott Golf PGA Golf professional Shows you the REAL REASON YOU DON'T CREATE CLUB HEAD SPEED and you are NOT using your wrists enough in the golf swing! I know this may sounds crazy BUT in order to create club head speed we NEED to use our wrists in the golf swing. This is a SIMPE golf lesson but get it wrong and this is the REAL REASON YOU DON'T CREATE CLUB HEAD SPEED.
    CLUB head speed is HUGE problem for golfers and a challenge too! most golfers DON'T know how to create club head sped with their hands and arms this lesson s is a key example of how to use your wrists better in the golf swing to increase you driver golf swing club head speed and increase your iron and driver hitting distance

    Alex is the most effective and straight to the point TH-cam coach.
    His tips are insanely useful… just hard for me to execute. I think I’m doing it all perfectly then record myself in slow mo to realize I was just fooling myself.

      Alex's stages to really benefit from using the wrists are very helpful.
      Also even old golfers like me can make better use of the wrists with this EXCELLENT TIP.

    L to L drill .... this is a great drill to learn the basic wrists movements. Whenever you are playing poorly on the course...just go back to the L to L drill.

    I had my ball striking sorted by my PGA pro but struggled for clubhead speed. I watched this before heading to the range today and found I had been releasing too early. Following this simple drill with not too many swing thoughts, I hit loads of really crisp shots with definitely more speed. Thanks Alex

    This is super, reminds me of lessons I had 30 years ago, my mentor said Golf was all about wrist action…that doesn’t seem to be the emphasis nowadays as it’s all about rotation which has caused me to hold onto the club for too long without releasing. Thanks for an excellent reminder.

    Thank you Mr. Alex for the latest video regarding club speed and distance.
    I didn’t have a very successful trip at the range. I noticed at times I’m trying to swing too fast to create more distance.
    Look forward to implementing this technique on my next visit to the range…

    I started doing the L to L drill and has created so much more clubhead speed, and an effortless swing. It allows me to feel the weight of the club and trust letting it go. Can be in your living room and swing one hand at a time doing the l to l. Gives a great feel. Then put the hands together and it makes you feel how the club should move.

      @@AlexElliottGolf yes. Using it for both. And to do it properly, your body automatically starts to move in the right way, especially when you swing with one arm and hit balls. The results are amazing. Thanks for the videos.

    Reluctant to do this as I’m a serial flipper… but you are right, when in sync with the body the forearms don’t roll ( you can’t separate forearm and wrist roll) .
    The proof is the whoosh is louder and happens just after impact… a good thing.

    Hi AIlex, fantastic videos and great tips........... but I need your help ? I have been getting a snap hook with my driver, measured on trackman , my swing path is up around +8 or 9 degrees, so I am taking it in on the inside. When my timing is good, I have a beautiful draw, but when it's not, I get the snap hook. If you have an exercise , or practice routine to help, I would appreciate it , because I cant seem to take the club back to neutral ? I am currently playing off a handicap of 6, but have been down as far as 3 in the good days.........thks and rgds Liam

    Did this drill from my wedges through to 2 iron. Very good, a abit tricky at first as the ball was drawing a lot almost a hook. Eventually got the timing right. 2 iron went from 225 carry to 247 22 yards extra.

      @AlexElliottGolf I was lucky enough to play in the Monday Pro-Am at the Traveler's Championship in Connecticut years ago. In fact, it was sponsored by Canon then. Also, I played with a PGA Tour Pro at his home course, East Lake. The point I'm making is that professional golfers are so much better than we imagine. When you play 18 holes with them, you quickly realize we're not nearly as good as we think we are! So anything to help me improve is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for the video and tips, but the reason I don't get faster club head speeds is I am 74 years old. I can't swing the way I did when I was 20-40 years old and hit the drives 240-260. I am still active but my body does not turn like it used to. I am lucky to get 185-200 yards with my Drives. I just rely on my short game now to make up for the shorter long game. plus I don't take the game of golf that serious anymore, just for walking exercise.
    I will look at your great tips though to see if they do anything for me.

    I was unhinged "ending the race" after the ball because I thought that is what I heard on the internet. I can't wait to try to end hinge at ball contact. Makes more sense. I hit 220 and would love to get to 250.

    It’s confusing because both Lee Trevino and Moe Norman would hold the Clubhead square through impact as long as possible.
    But I also agree with your wrist analogy creating speed.

    • @gerardgauthier4876
      @gerardgauthier4876 ปีที่แล้ว

      Moe was the next evolutionary step in the golf swing!

    • @stevec8352
      @stevec8352 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both Lee Trevino and Moe Norman release the clubhead right at the moment of impact and just maintain the clubface square. Flipping or turning your wrist after impact won't add anymore ball speed. What turning your wrist does is it encourages the release of the clubhead prior to impact.

    Love your stuff. I got caught up in the big muscles create speed. I've letting the wrists go now. Have to time it a bit more but it's so much easier on the body.
    Is there a difference between using the wrists and flipping?

    • @AlexElliottGolf
