As some of you already know this here is how I usually get my test rides: th-cam.com/video/A_lVU5NGIUY/w-d-xo.html Which means that almost all bikes that appear on my channel are owned by the manufacturers, they're completely new, and usually in perfect condition. This RAW is different because you're watching a used bike which is owned by a big German dealership. I was on the job for my employer 1000PS.at and together with a colleague I was filming and reviewing used motorcycles in Germany. I was under severe time pressure to make those Onboard sound recordings which meant I didn't have any time to get used to the motorcycle before filming the RAW. I even attached this very ride of me getting used to the bike to the end of this video. Please keep that in mind when judging my riding style. More important though is the fact that to my liking the twisty stretch of road I filmed was too short. That's why I had to improvise a bit and include those boring straight bits to give you a better impression of what the bike sounds like. I prefer to do all my filming on twisty road sections but it was almost impossible to find stretches long enough to do so. Especially since the best roads were closed due to severe floodings in the area. I hope you're still able to enjoy this RAW. I certainly do since it is such a nice change for once to ride bikes that are a bit older and therefore have quite a lot more character attached to them!!
My old bike! Loved every minute of owning it. Didn't enjoy the wind protection though, since all the wind blasted on my helmet (different screens and spoilers didn't help). Apart from that (and sometimes, the fueling) I really enjoyed and think it is an often overlooked bike with a lot of potential.
Great to see my current bike on the channel! I have the updated 2018 model with Hyperpro suspension and that really transforms the ride. Combined with a higher screen I now have the perfect tour-sportbike! Held its own around the track as well!
I think you’re speaking specifically of the Tiger 900 and 1200 T-plane crank. It was designed to emulate a twin at lower rpm but still feel like a triple at higher revs.
Lol! I was just asking myself where my old buddy Schööfl McRAWOnboardFace is, and lo and behold, here he is, riding a bike I almost bought in 2018 instead of my 990 SMT. Everything you did on the bike, I can confirm, although watching your videos is almost as good as riding it. The bike is a bit heavy in the corners, but very precise and the suspension is firm enough that you don't have any wobbles. The engine is a dream. The only I didn't like about this bike is the top-heavy weight.
I’ve had this one in my sights for some time as a potential replacement for my Yamaha TDM900, I even thought to myself „man, I wish Schaaf made a video on that bike” cause that’s probably the closest experience of it I could get save for an actual test ride, and here we are :) I’d probably shoot for the updated version mostly because of that sexy azz one-side swingarm among other things but those things are still worth about 3 TDMs like mine 😆
Well since it was my first and so far only bike I don’t have much experience to compare other than a couple short test rides, but it does feel like a bit of an odd one, hope you get to try it out sometime, would love to hear what you think of it :)
I kinda feel like motorcycle design peaked in the late '90-early 2010s. Modern enough to do most things, but analog enough to still feel like an actual mechanical machine. I hope you'll get your hands on a Ducati 999/749 someday...
Definitely peaked when you mentioned. Everytime I think I'll upgrade my bike from that era I just can't do it. Yes the new stuff is amazing but it just doesn't do anything for me
The intoxicating sound of that triple engine and the sweet handling makes you forget about the minor imperfections (like the atrocious wind protection). I have the next model (2016+) with the final version of that peach of an engine. It's a pity they are not producing a successor, 1200rs engine (not that t-plane bs) with a 17inch front. Awesome ride bud, greetings from Greece 😉
Very under rated bike, especially in Portugal. It doesn´t excell in anything but it's good at everything, obviously except offroad. Can tell you the suspension really offers stability at speeds over 200 kms/h but on the other side it's also confortable. Still adjusting the preload on the rear makes things better. ... Maybe you start feeling it's soft if you get really really agressive, but i just push that far like once a year😅. Like you say it's agile enough for my quick(ish) weekend rides with the boys in the mountain roads, powerfull enough for some spiritued riding and quick overtakes, confortable for weekends out and even some longer trips (already went from Portugal to Italy with my wife and we were quite ok), and... it's very reliable, never had an issue in 8 years (God forbid, knock on the wood). Love my Black Betty ("she's black matte)!!! Thanks so much, @Schaaf for this awesome video! Loved it!
I had a go on a 2017 model and was a bit disappointed. Gearbox felt vague. Engine was smooth and powerful up until about 7000 rpm, after which it just felt flat. Surprisingly little leg room for such a large bike. Pushing it is a real chore, because it’s very top heavy. My 1190 Adventure feels light in comparison despite weighing the same.
HI, where you put the zoom microphone? Nice video! You have to sinchronize the video and audio in postprocessing I think. You cant connect the zoom to the gopro, right?
What is the point of blurring the speedo as soon as ,presumably, you break the speed limit? We can still hear the engine revving. It’s obvious you are still accelerating
If you don't have a good amount of experience, the z750 is going to feel like an uncontrollable monster. I had a kz250 for my first bike, then did a 2 month course and got ~400km on a cb500 (which felt like a rocketship at first), and then bought an FZ6 - I almost pissed myself the first time I got it over 7k rpm and got a taste of the power band. I've had the bike two years and put on about 5000km since, and my father says I still look intimidated when I ride it (and he's right). Better off getting something light with ~50-60hp and get more confident using the power and controlling it before getting a machine with a powerband you're afraid of. My father has an R7 right now, and outside of a drag race, I can't keep up with him even though I've got the faster bike. All that said, I'd say if you want something meatier than the go-to MT-03, cb500 or a Kawasaki 650, I'd suggest looking at an xsr700. If you REALLY want one of these two, I'd say the XJ6.
See?. It´s no mandatory to have a fancy coloured screens to have fun on a motorcicle. The Tiger Sport 1050 suffer the usual spedo blurryness tho, hope Triumph had fixed that :P

Why did manufacturers had to get rid off analog gauges?
They always look great and are super easy to read.
TFTs makes sense when there's a thousand electronic settings to adjust. But yea, unfortunately those TFTs indeed are ugly
Cost, and to accommodate all the extra menus for the rider modes etc,
Same reason why Tesla added an iPad to a car... it's for Gen Z and Alpha, they grew up with screens.
a screen is simply cheaper (yet sold as something so called expensive)

Triple sounds amazing!
Thanks
To me, one of the best bikes ever build.
Cheers.
Absolutamente... 8 anos depois de a comprar, ainda adoro a minha Tiger Sport 1050! 👌
Obrigado
Dang that triple cylinder sounds heavenly ❤
Thanks
Love the sound of Triumph's older gen big bore triples. Their new one sounds too much like a twin.
thanks!
True I like that the 1050s are more rowdy. The new 1200 is too refined to the point of boring 😂
Newer versions have better handling though.

Thanks a lot, Disek!! I've just returned from a 5 week vacation hence it was even more quiet than usual ;) All the best for 2025
@Schaaf you too, matey.
I had a Sprint ST 1050 and the sounds it makes reminds me of this beauty. Lovely!
Nice! Thanks
Die Gutenbergsteige ist einfach einer der Besten und in Kommbination mit der Triumph einfach nur geil !!!
Danke!
Glückwunsch zu 200.000 Abos! ♥
Vielen Dank!

Yeah, the only thing I'd like to have is an ABS unit for the front brake, otherwise I'm perfectly happy with my '98 CB500.
Good review and looks like a fantastic bike.
Thanks a ton, Bob!!

oh i do love the whistle of the triple...i got street 67r parked in my garage can't wait to ride again..
Awesome!
Old school 1050 triumph nice! I’ve got a sprint gt.
awesome!
Used to own sprint 1050 gt
What a sound ❤️
Awesome!
Good timing as ive been tossing up between a 2013-15 tiger sport 1050 or the updated 2016 onwards version with ride by wire and cruise control
Cruise control is nice to have for sure
I looooove those pops and bangs! My Tiger 800 does that too
Awesome!
You are my inspiration 😅
thanks!!!

Old Triumphs just feel different, sound wise and riding both. Don't they, Schaaf?
Also 200k on youtube yipee....🥳
They sure do! Thanks!

Wonder how the new Sport 800 will compare to this one
It will be easier to ride on every aspect
Is that to say you've already been on one?@@Schaaf
Nice bike! Can you try guzzi griso once?
Unfortunately not
Toll gemacht, Vale-ntin! Ich habe 3 ewige Lieben: vfr750, zz-r 1100 und die Tigerin. Ich weiss, tönt bit oldschool, aber ist schon so...
Nice!
That thing sounds soooooo much better than pretty much any euro 5 bike.
Which is obvious
please do a review of Royal Enfield Guerilla 450.

Description
Always enjoy your rides How it compares with 1250rs?
Can't say without the direct comparison
I owned one of these for a few months. Great bike, plenty of power, sounded great.
Bike was too tall for me though. (I’m 5’8)
What audio recorder + mic do you use? Where is it located 🫰👍
I'm such a softie for tripples! :D Very nice! Afraid the new Tiger Sport is nowhere near.
Probably not but let's wait and see
@@Schaaf Yeah, lets.
What is the point of blurring the speedo as soon as ,presumably, you break the speed limit? We can still hear the engine revving. It’s obvious you are still accelerating
it keeps the keyboard warriors (like you) in bay
"Habe die Ehre aus Hamburg" 🙂
Besten Dank aus Wien :)
Wirst du auch die neue Tiger Sport 800 fahren, wenn sie erhältlich ist? Das würde mich total freuen!
Hoffentlich, kann ich aber leider nicht beeinflussen
Need one video for triumph scrambler 400x please 🥺
How do you break with only one finger while riding man?
One is enough on most modern bikes
What exhaust,
Thanks
For my first bike...should i buy a yamaha xj6 or Kawasaki z750
probably xj6 cus its lighter and less torque
I'd get something lighter and less powerful
@Schaaf thank you 💪
Try Suzuki SV 650 if you like

It's a very persistent issue ;)
Wow these old triples sound alot like porsche flat sixes, the new ones sound more unique, less mechanical sounding.
Thanks
first
congrats!!
Try bicycle sometimes😊
Will do
