A cheap sprayer will certainly get you by in thr short term and complete a few projects, but if you plan on painting professionally invest in at least a Graco 395 or Titan 440 equivalent. It'll last you forever if you take care of it, and increase your productivity. It'll also make you realize the cheapo 180-300dollar sprayers was money flushed down the toilet the moment they die.

I also have a titan 440 epic, awsome machine, lx80 gun, served me well last 20 yrs.
I've always been a greyco fan myself and wife bought mean small titan to carry around for the smaller jobs instead rolling my 3500 series around. I didn't touch it for 2 years and decided to give it a try finally. Honestly I was very impressed and surprised with the machines ability to keep up. Ended up using it for the entire job.
Yup jus picked up my first Titan 440 always had Graco but I got it from my paint prep for 1,080 out the door with 50 foot of hose and the rx-80 gun… it’s nice has hell… i couldn’t pass that deal!

@@twinenk15 it's great for diy small projects, definitely not for painting rooms. The 440 is truly for a pro that has the man power and materials to mask and drape. There's cleanup too. I went big and still cried. Lol it's in my basement.

Here in Italy we use diaphragm airless pumps more, they require less maintenance and last twenty years. Why do you still use piston pumps in America? They want more maintenance, the cylinder is scratched or the electronic board breaks and you have to throw them away. I'd be happy if you told me your opinion
I rented a 440 this weekend and it is a beast♡♡♡. I'm looking at the 410 to buy though.
It looks a lot like my old spraytech 2155 that is on life support.

One pump that I love is the Greco 495 pc pro ultramax 2 high boy, if you want a pump that will just go and go without losing any pressure you can hold the trigger down and spray no problem, of course it’s a lil bigger for bigger jobs we use it on new construction priming large areas does wonders no more waiting for your pump to pressure up

I had a loaner 450e for years, it Was great unit. Efficient and ok priced to maintain. But i had to return it At get my own pump.
I decided to go with graco and TBHonest the main reason to try Something new is the fact i feel screwed when the same pump cost 850-950€ in US is here 2100-2350 and graco is about the same Price there and here after i add tax and toll the Titan difference is about thousand euros and I could not find anyone willing to sell directly to Finland as they said Titan doesnt allow them to.
My titan 440 came with the basic gun (RX-80) :(
can you recommend a single job paint sprayer? I am painting a 2500 SQ ft house inside and out. Would the titan 1700 pro be fine for that? I saw your other video about the inner feed roller. Would you roll inside or just spray the walls?
First off I just want to thank you for your straight forward no nonsense videos. I am a homeowner and want to purchase a pump, I do not have a lot of money but I have been eyeballing the Graco 262800 x5. Typically I take on side jobs enough to pay for the tool. What are your thoughts on this pump for minimal use?

Titan 410
I would avoid buying the Titan 1500, 1700, etc.. Immediate clogging issue right out of the box with latex (my experience 1st time use). Also, they made ALL of the fittings proprietary. Want a 50 foot hose? Nope. Want a new gun? Nada. Want to use a 2 or 3 foot wand extension? Sorry, can't get it! I wish I would have read the reviews more closely on Amazon. I'm going to keep it to just spray doors. I'll probably go with the Titan 440 or something similar as my larger project sprayer. Do your research before purchasing!
Forgot to mention that you can't get a whip hose and any new spray tips either!

Hi I’ve been following you a while and I need recommendations for what sprayer to buy. I’m a home owner and would really like to purchase a sprayer for first spraying my kitchen cabinets, bathroom cabinets, hall cabinets, white. As well as the stair railings. I also need to Paint my front door and later interior walls and a exterior wall. Not to mention staining our new fence. What would you recommend for this? I’m not a pro but I need a quality product with a quality result. I appreciate your time. I was looking at the graco ultra handheld or the hvlp graco or now the titan
Best to do your own evaluation. Also information here isn't always in your best interest. Running to short of a hose will cause pump to over cycle and burn out packing quicker which don't last long to begin with on Titan.

Awesome video. I'm a weekend woodworker and diyer that occasionally paints interior walls with latex paint. I noticed you recommended the budget friendly titan 1700 pro. Does it spray lacquers and varnishes? If not what would you recommend that won't break the bank? Any light you could shed would be greatly appreciated.
I stumbled across your videos today and they are amazing. Its a real hassle to get a titan airless sprayer here in Australia or im looking in the wrong places. The Australian website doesn't have the 410 or 440 listed, and it costs a bit to import one from the USA. Can you recommend any other comparable brands/models. Our bunnings sell wagner and Graco, Sydney tools sell those and a brand called Chicago air.

Question if I may. My backyard Fence is 180' x 150' x 180'. going to just spray my side/inside. Ball park on the amount of gallons I might need? I've not don't this way and looking at a triton sprayer to get the job done. Thanks !

As someone who works on these things for a living I can say the new graco stuff is much better. The gear case is much quieter and the pumps are much easier to rebuild. They also run at a Lower speed. Personal preference but I'd pick a Graco. I personally have a 495pc
I think this guy uses both sprayers. In one of his vids he stated he uses a 695 for bigger jobs. So they must both be good machines. If a pro has been using a tool for nearly 20 years that says a lot about the quality of both Titan and Graco.
I have a old spray tech (bought out by titan) from maybe 10 yrs ago last time I took it to get fixed it took months for the shop that fixed it to get parts due to the fact that they had to get them from China literally, I switched to Greco because parts are American made and I can get my machines fixed within a few days not months, not sure if this is a issue anymore with the newer Titan pumps or if it was just the spray techs, guys at the shop said spray techs had the same issues 🤷♂️

@@trjo6669 Why are Titan and Graco both made in Minnesota? What about the other 49 states? Do Graco's and Titans work as well or last as long in less snowy, less cold, more humid (florida) or dry (arizona) or hot (texas) or higher (colorado) or lower (coasts) altitude extremes?
Does the 440 have the plunger to unstick the ball?
My wife wants an airless sprayer for general use. Probably one time painting all the doors in the house and baseboard but otherwise for arts/crafts use. Would you recommend a bigger sprayer like this (or the Titan Control Max you showed) or something like a Graco True Coat ? SHe probably will use quart-sized containers a lot.

@@Idahopainter Lets say budget is not a huge issue. I would be willing to pay more for a better quality tool. My concern is much paint do the larger ones with priming the pump and hose vs the handheld Graco unit? Would something like the Titan 410 hold a lot of paint and cause waste?

Looking to get a sprayer to paint a mud room project and then my finished basement. I want to paint the ceiling in the basement with dry fall paint (not drywalling ceiling) and I was told a smaller sprayer like a Graco X7 wouldn't do well with that dry fall paint. Beyond these projects, I wouldn't be using the sprayer much so I don't want to spend a lot.
Would you advise I purchase a small project sprayer (Graco X5 or similar Titan) to do my mudroom and basement walls and then rent a pro sprayer when I do the ceiling or spend the extra and get a Titan 410?

Your videos are very informative. I just landed a big side hustle painting the exterior of an old Walmart building which is now a school. It’s about 32,000 square foot I estimated about 20 5gallon pales. I’m leaning towards the 440 Titan. Will be able to shoot a 100 gallons and still be a good function sprayer? Thank you

Don't use behr or Sherwin Williams. If you want a quality work use Benjamin Moore paints 👍.

I have a question , need to paint my house , my the exterior of my house has brick all around , well the lover portion of it.
Would you recommend using primer first all around or only on the portion that has siding?
Also I am going to be using my airless paint sprayer.
I would not suggest painting the brick. If it is in its natural state i would use a solid body stain. H&C use to make a stain for Sherwin Williams for brick and block. I have many houses painted with this product 15 years out and they look like the day they were stained. The advantages of stain are they soak into the brick/block and create a great better bond than a paint sitting mostly on top. They also do not peal and blister like paint on brick /block. Plan on 2 coats as the first will soak right in and the second will create a uniform color.. GL

Truth is all machines are the same if you get 3000 psi you can spray anything... thes best machine I had was $1300 only because the parts were cheap and literally you could fix it in 5 mins yourself instead of taking it to the shop.. but if your spraying a kitchen cabinets id get a hvlp..

DIYer here. I took a chance and bought a used 440 impact at a great price bc of a priming issue. With a couple of great vids on TH-cam I'm sure I can fix it. Do u routinely rebuild ur sprayers after a period of time? I'm assuming as a pro painter u and or ur guys are capable of tearing them down and troubleshooting on a job site? I watched ur vids on cleaning these sprayers. If u were spraying a couple of wood fences in the same day, at the same location, with the same color water based paint would u normally clean ur machine after each fence was sprayed?
You can leave paint in the sprayer easily overnight. With no issues. I release the pressure in the line and throw the gun in water or mineral spirits until my next coat. Doesn’t affect anything. Just keep it all wet so paint doesn’t harden

Less that 500 not much recommended.
Around $1,000 for small to big jobs.
