Hi Sid great video on the Alter 71, I have had my one for a year now, it really is a silver magnet, using Fast mode, it still punches deep, and performs well above its price point.
I had the first alter 71 that ever got the united states. It was fantastic but I sold it as im too tall to comfortably use it as they dont make a long enough shaft for tall people.
Nice review Sid, seems to have a lot of the multi settings you get with the Deus? Are you one of the lucky few who gets council land for detecting? You don't see many park hunts in the UK? ATB MMMD.

Whats it like on gold chain ,one of my permissions has had meetings for years and theres a lot of asian gold I have a gold racer but its a foil magnet and theres several bits every sweep so i am hoping the alter is good on gold but not so hot on tiny foil (5p size at several inches) thanks PS i know foil is where gold is but generally the jewellery is big so tiny bits of foil could be ignored for the moment ,the racer has crude discrimination so you dont have a clue what things are until you spend 5 minutes finding what the pinpointed cannot!

The RA71 is one of the most overlooked machines. I know better.
