Omgosh I absolutely love this!!! What a great idea!! I just love the cover, all the details throughout and the butterfly beads dangles on the back cover...I adore it all!! I'm a jean shorts person so I totally get it! I even thought, hmmm those butterfly dangles would look amazing on the shorts while wearing them!!!! Lol. Thanx for sharing I love this!!!

Thank you - I really loved making this one. Unfortunately, I traded this journal and it's living in France right now. I looked to see if I took a photo of the bag and didn't find one. Sometimes remembering to take pictures is the hardest part. LOL. Thanks for watching -

Ms. Kelly, I love watching your junk journal videos (along with your stitching vids) but I wonder if you could offer suggestions on how to use them in our everyday lives. They have beautiful tags and clips that are just lovely, but again, what would be a couple of practical ideas for those? Jot down little notes, glue things like ticket stubs etc? I'd love to try junk journaling oneday, so getting a good mental visual of how I could use and appreciate them would inspire me to perhaps create one of my own in the future.Your videos are very inspiring! You are a true artist. Thank you!
Hello again! I can certainly do a journal with me video and give some ideas on using this kind of journal. It would make me happy. Thank you - I loved making this journal - I forgot how much I love the feel of denim and it makes the journal extra soft and tactile. (that is one of the greatest things about the journals - just handling them and turning the pages - very therapeutic.) Thank you for the kind compliment - and for watching - happy creating.

Hi Sharon - I'm glad you like it - there are loads of very talented junk journal makers here on TH-cam - I'm not an expert - I love delygirl1961 and Jibid Neary - they are really good. Many people use pre-made downloadable kits (delygirl1961 makes her own and sells on ETSY). I have never used those kits though - I have always tea dyed or stained my own paper and printed my own images off the internet. I am happy to help you through it the best that I can if you have questions. (and the crafting community - like the stitching community is very friendly and helpful) Thanks for watching - Kelly

Some people are unhappy - others may just hit the wrong icon. I don't know - I just figure if it makes someone feel better to try and do damage to someone's confidence - it may as well be me - I try not to let it bother me. I do these things because they make me happy and I share in the hope that someone else may try to create something too - I know it makes me feel much better to sit and work on these things. Hi Lottie - I used part of a file folder as the base and encased it with denim by sewing around the outside edges. I had a lot of fun with this one - I love adding on unexpected things. I'm glad you enjoyed it - thanks for watching and happy journaling!

I LOVE jeans! I found your video looking for blue jean junk journals. In fact, some even bear my middle name: Lee! TFS.
Just out of curiosity. You're talking about the journal like you're going to sell it. Or, looking at the date, maybe even sold it. But it was made from your favorite jeans. Why didn't you just keep it for yourself?

To fray the denim you just start on the cut edge and begin pulling the weft threads which leaves the warp threads loose. I usually will sit and pick at the threads with a pin to be able to pull them. Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much! It wasn't easy to decide to cut the shorts up - but I will never be able to wear them again - so they went to a good cause - crafting! I made a bag for the journal out of the rest of the shorts so - nothing was wasted - yay! Happy Crafting - thanks for watching.

I was born in the late 50's. Through grade school, we could wear pants on Friday, but never denim. In high school, we could wear pants any day, but denim on Fridays only. Funny rules to look back on.
