I like the grey one, and that's as technical as it gets with me.

Hi Mattt, Great overview. Can you recommend a good vintage lens around 25 or 35mm, close to f2 ish for a reasonable price? Thank you.

Hey man! Funny enough I actually have one of those yashinon 50mm f2’s, and mine was the same way with the crooked focus ring. It’s pretty easy to disassemble and reassemble! And likewise for that 35mm you’re a big fan of, if you disassemble it and give it a nice cleaning, you can regrease it and it’ll be buttery smooth! Believe in yourself!

The new Sigma 56mm 1.4 might be a better, more affordable replacement for the Viltrox 56mm. Of the new Sigmas for the X mount, the 56 has the best reviews.

You’re only partially right about not expecting great lenses from Sears. They obviously didn’t manufacture the cameras & lenses they sold, just rebranded other brands. Over the course of time they’ve used top notch companies to license from, including Pentax & others. When they did so, they used the same lenses Pentax, for one example, released as Takumars, but rebranded as a Sears lens. These are great bargains if you know what to look for

I was searching this video from my watched history because I was looking for a new lens and remembered watching a really well explained video of a rounded up lens collection a year ago, and wanted to watch it again. So I typed "lens" in the watched history search box, scrolled through the entire results, could not find this video. Weird, I thought, maybe "collection" would give me better results. Nope, gave me results with "collection" in the title of all kind of crap I had previously watched but not this one which I was looking for. Well ok, maybe the title didn't contain any of those keywords, so I went through 30 minutes of scouring all youtube channels to find this.
Now I notice there is literally "lens collection" in the title, why didn't it show up in search?! Went back to the search history to do a scientific experiment. Indeed, it does not show this video for either "lens" or "collection" search terms (shows other videos with any of those words just fine), it only finds this video when searching for "lens collection". It was painful to notice, *youtube censors some of the search results as if you have never watched them*, if it thinks they are not relevant, even though the words appear in the very description of the video! For a moment I was doubting my own sanity there, but no, it's youtube search which is rigged.
I think your channel is one of the best photography related on youtube, and I have always wondered why there are so few subscribers but how on earth there could be more if youtube boycotts your channel for some reason! I really really hate seeing something like this happening, it's just not fair. Sorry for a long rant in broken english, this is unbelievable trickery by youtube.

Get yourself a vintage M 42 Auto Sears 55mm f1.4 and try that statement again about Sears lenses not being any good

Since you already have the m42 adapter, do yourself a favor and plunk down the $50 or so for an actually excellent vintage manual lens, as opposed to the poor examples you have, it might open your Ayes to a “new” view 😎

Ok you asked for it that Kamero lens is not worth the metal used to make it. It’s bokeh is worthless it’s bokeh scale falls at a 6.5 . If you ever want to review a lens use the Pentax forum, also Fuji film are the best cameras to shot vintage lenses. The price of a Fuji lens will afford you great collection of vintage M42 lenses yes plural maybe about 8 prime lenses
