Definitely heard of Alexandra Tavel/two of Wands. She’s for a super popular sweater called Autumn League. I’m not surprised about the Framed sweater. There were so many people walking around at Rhinebeck wearing this. I have the sabai top and tolsta tank on my list for 2025
This was such a fun video! I have heard of Alexandra Tavel. I believe she's based in the US and is a brand ambassador for Lion Brand yarn. I have made her Mexican blanket which I really love and this year I want to make her Autumn League Pullover. Happy New Year to you!
That was surprising. I watch a lot of knitting podcasts, and there were several patterns I haven't even seen anyone make up. The 11th place Acuzena Sweater is the only pattern I have purchased, and I purchased it as soon as it came out. I think it's gorgeous! I'm glad it placed in the top 12 and that you mentioned it, but I've only seen it mentioned once, and it was by a Canadian Podcaster. I'd forgotten all about it because I didn't have the right yarn for it, but I've since accumulated some, so maybe it will be my New Years cast on this year. There were several that it seemed like every Podcaster and their neighbor cast on that didn't make the list, which I also found surprising. I guess vlogs and podcasts don't influence as much as I had expected.
Not sure if this metric is available on Ravelry, but I would interested in the most purchased patterns. I imagine there are people like me who do t post projects on Ravelry but purchases and knit many sweaters and tops. My new year’s goal is to start posting my projects😃.
Fun video, but…. I think that patterns released prior to this year but with projects made this year should have been included. That might have been a very different list and more accurately reflect “the most popular sweaters and tops of 2024”.
I think that would be an entirely different outcome as I suspect the most popular patterns would include a lot of the most made patterns on Ravelry overall. I have thought about making a video on that as well 🤠
I love the designs you picked! Gorgeous 🤎

Loved this list and your presentation! Surprises.
Couple sweaters on this list I have made, am making and are on my robe made list.
Really interesting topic. I'm loving the colour of your Book Club cardigan and can't wait to see it finished
Thank you! It's the shade pumpkin from woollentwine studio 🌟
I really enjoyed your video. I predominately knit sweaters too so seeing what was most popular on Ravelry for 2024 was fun. Happy New Year!
Weird the ballet wrap showed up it definitely isn’t from this year, maybe she redid the ravelry page for it?
I think you may be right, I managed to catch a few others like this but this one slipped through. Thanks for picking up on this 🌟
@ No problem I enjoyed seeing the list!

I just checked, for example over 4000 Ranunculus were completed in 2024. So it is arguably more popular than even the Framed sweater.
But that wasn't released this year?? I thought the patterns she included were all 2024 releases.
@@amandarenshaw2940that’s my point. The most popular patterns OF 2024 were not necessarily released IN 2024.
