- Here's my take on Karl Suessdorf and John Blackburn's 'Moonlight in Vermont', recorded live at Mr. Vain. / mrvainbrisbane
Suessdorf and Blackburn published 'Moonlight in Vermont' in 1944. Unusually, the lyrics do not rhyme, and each verse is a haiku. It was first recorded by Margaret Whiting, in that same year, and it has also been sung by Frankie Laine, Betty Carter, Jo Stafford, Johnny Hartman, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Ray Charles, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Chris Connor, Sarah Vaughan, Mel Tormé, Billy Eckstine, Joe Williams, Carmen McRae, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, and many others.
I hope you enjoy it!
