The reason the wardens were doing more damage is because they were colliding with each other. The dolphins dont touch so the game saves a ton of resources.
I also think that warden has a more complex Ai - always Cheking for sounds, keeping the anger values, etc. I might be wrong

fun fact, there were actually more than 1600 dolphins, it's because if dolphins are at certain distance from player, they stay still and frozen in their place, and eventually drown. U had probably like 1800 dolphins

@@Yoshikage._Kira. the general public might jave learnt that recently, but this is a very common issue in dolphin based storage system, which is why all the dolphins are in soul sand bubble columns to give them both air and water

Just to clarify, unless your running shaders, a 4090 will only do so much for your fps in Minecraft. Most of Minecraft is actually CPU limited, even with Shaders, if your around a lot of entities your GPU will just have less work to do as the CPU can't keep up.
I know of one mod being worked on to bring more calculation over to the GPU, but it's only for nvidia gpu's and I'm pretty sure it's just for chunk loading/render distance, possibly not entity rendering, which for some reason seems to be completely cpu bound.

@@Juliemc Nvidium is the mod. I haven't tried it, but that was the only mod currently being worked on, that I could find while looking for a solution myself. I just read the description again and it did sound like it's trying to do ALL rendering on the gpu, so maybe it would actually help with entities? The reason I haven't tried it is because, well, it won't run with Shaders and it's also not compatible with the version of my current save.
I’ve actually seen a bit of a boost from my 3070 Ti to this! I think sodium does some GPU rendering. So it does a little bit for the frame rate! But yes you’re correct on the cpu stuff.
I honestly didn’t get the 4090 for Minecraft though. I have it for video editing. It has sped up my workflow substantially! So it’s just fun to mess with it in Minecraft and just see what it can do even if it’s not meant to be used for that 🙃

It's just REALLY frustrating spending $2000 on a GPU just have it sit there underutilized. The sad thing is that since Minecraft doesn't even utilize the capabilities of current gen CPU's, the CPU itself isn't even bottlenecked, just the couple cores that Minecraft wants to boss around lol.

You get permanently banned from the world due to nbt data limits, you'd have to manually delete your inventory in the world files to get the world back

the point is "can it crash" not "can I play after crash", since it's always a new world for the videos anyway

@@jan_harald you can easily hit the nbt data limit without crashing. It would just kick you into the main menu.

*Sodium mod does some optimisations that may boost or decrease performance depending on the things going on. For me, when I am close to things it decreases performance (compared to vanilla) but if I am far away performance is amazing.
EDIT: Hence why it's not part of vanilla minecraft - some people would lose performance and get mad.

In the mod description for starlight, it says that Mojang has closed the performance gap between starlight and vanilla. This mod could also be slowing down Minecraft due to extra code being loaded (don’t know for sure though). Otherwise great video! I already use Sodium, lithium, and iris in Minecraft, I might have to try out some of these mods as well.

I've got an idea.
Step 1. Install Create mod
Step 2. Place (10 blocks above ground) creative crate and set the item to something non-stackable
Step 3. Place a brass funnel under it
Step 4. Use world edit to stack them 255 times (creating a line)
Step 5. Stack the line again 255 times to create a square
Step 6. Regret your life choices

7:49 there was more orbs but minecraft added mechanic that "stacks" orbs with the same amount of xp so it takes less resources, probably 2 times, max 3 times more orbs

You should do this again, but use mods to expand your render distance to a stupid amount and load a LOT of chunks, or use a command that summons an exploding fire ball that when it hits the ground, it will explode and 4 more come out, then those 4 will hit the ground and do the same and it will repeat that process. If that is possible.

Idea for the next dumb ideas video: make it so that when a chicken lays an egg, it instantly spawns a chicken, then turn the tick speed to max. It will start slow but then pick up fast.
an idea for you to do with all of the fps boosters: do every ideas from your previous videos all at once and repeat it until it crashes or something

It's almost like my laptop, the performance, but I have put on VSync to avoid overheating and my FPS remains a constant 59-60 depending on what I'm doing. I'm using 8 render distance, because 16 may cause my FPS to go 20.
20 is pretty playable unless youre loading new chunks. I get 20-30 on my laptop.

Isn't minecraft fps increase more via CPU upgrades rather than gpu? I mean a 4090 will help a lot 😅 but it's mainly the CPUs that help more right?

Hey Knarfy! Love your videos and all, but i have a idea for a crash technique that i haven't seen anywhere else. Use a /execute at @e command but have the "run" command be another /execute at @e and then finish it off with a summon bee or any mob you like. Full command: "/execute as @e run execute as @e run summon bee"

As an RT software engineer, I can say I'm not that surprised at the experience orbs not lagging that much.
Orb merging was added in the recent updates, and it might've been a deciding factor in reducing the lag.
And orbs should not have complex collisions anyway.

Also, a suggestion for your next Breaking Minecraft video: Make a repeating command block which breaks 32k lecterns, and another which places 32k lecterns.
i don't know what you called it, but you had previously set up tnt to spawn more tnt in a big circular pattern as it exploded, and i was just thinking it would be really cool to see how far it could go in optimized minecraft.
Here's an idea to break Minecraft, summon as many bats (with no AI) as you can in a one block space, and drop an anvil on them. Bat's are not effected by entity craming so you can put in as many as you like in there.
Get a command block that changes all blocks to water, and another that changes it to lava, put both on repeat and watch the magic happen❤❤
I like how experience orbs are tiny but reduce the game to one fps but wardens only leave a moderate scratch on the performance.
That's why it's weird that he didn't use the clumps mod. Would have helped a lot.
You should redo this because of a new extension for sodium called nvidium it massively fixes problems with sodium while also boosting the fps to twice of what sodium alone can do
Idea:
When you kill the Enderdragon, it doubles. Now set a repeating command block that spawns a Enderdragon. Add another repeating command block that kills all Enderdragons. It should be enough to crash.

clumps: allow me to introduce myself
Make a 4x4x4 block box and make repeating comande blocks set to fire rockets in the box every tick. Then get in the box and turn on the fireworks. And make the fireworks spawn more fireworks.
There’s is this modpack called “Simply Optimized” that has all good optimized mods, and custom settings already set for the best performance
You should've used the clumps mod, that would of made for example the experience orbs feel like nothing, that's because it converts all the exp orbs to 1 orb containing all the exp in those orbs

if you ever want to try this again, use nvidium, which are optimisations dor nvidia gpus that make the game more gpu focused, and with your 4090 that would give you a massive improvement

Fabric/Quint have a lot of available performance upgrade mods like Sodium, but Forge doesn't have that many, so when you play modded, it can be hard (well my case is a bit extreme cuz I play on a laptop _god I need help)_

Heres an idea on how to break minecraft:
spawn 5 chickens
have repeating always active command block summon an egg at every chicken's position
have a 30% chance that when the chicken summons an egg, 2 more chickens spawn
have a 2% chance that when the chicken summons an egg, 25 more chickens spawn,
spam the first always active command block, good luck
Starlight is now obsolete in newer versions as Mojang reworked the lighting engine. The mod dev states this in the description now.

you could tryout one thing shulkers full of item in like 20 double chests, destroying the chests drops all the shulkers and then using a piece of tnt to destroy the shulkers for them to drop out the item inside the shulkers
You could also add clumps
Summon falling blocks at every falling block and also set sand 2 blocks above every falling block. Go above a bubble column
You know the xp thing would've been easier if you had the xp clumps mod, as they'd all have combined into 1
