Hey all! It's come to my attention that the Curlsmith Thickening Lotion is likely being discontinued. If y'all would still like to see a video comparing the thickening lotion to the Volumizing lotion to see if they differ, I'm happy to do that. But it will be with the understanding that the thickening lotion will be harder to find or not available anymore at that point. Thank you!

I do find that the line does give me more volume,but the mousse just isn’t enough hold. I have yet to find a good medium.
Amazing results! I was wondeirng about adding all those stylers into fine hair. I guess, judt a snall amouny of each for me, then.
Thank you! I would say that if you use all, definitely go in with small amounts. You don't need a lot if these products. In fact, the video I'll be posting on Friday has the mousse as a one and some product where I talk about my thoughts on it a bit more. So hopefully you'll watch that one and it will be helpful to you as well!
I tried the volume line and I've never had such horrible hair. The mousse isn't like any other mousse. It doesn't grow. It is like a thick thick cream. I used way less than any of my other mousses. And my hair was gummy and just awful. I took it all back and did a deep clarifying shampoo, twice, to get it all out. As gas as AG mousse gel. I've used that for years. That battle will, at least it is for me, be a massacre. AG lousse gel is my go to when I want to be sure I have a good wash day. I pair it with recoil or the fresh defining cream or just a leave in. Never let's me down.
Glad you liked the curlsmith but I have read alot of reviews similar to mine.
I would like to see that comparison. AG doesn't claim to be that volumizing but I find that it is.
Thank you for the heads up! It's interesting how different products respond differently for people. I didn't notice a gummy feeling in my hair, but it's good to know that other people do that I can keep that in mind going forward. I appreciate your feedback.
As for the AG mousse, I'm definitely excited to give it a try. I've heard so many good things about it. ☺️
Yes please! Do the comparison!, I hesitated to get the mousse bc I already have AG mousse/gel !! Can’t wait to compare since there is no proteins in Curlsmith ❤
How is the ag mousse gel?
I would like to see you do the mousse comparison - like a split comparison. Do the AG on one side of your head and the Curl Smith on the other side.

I wish I could do a side by side but unfortunately my curl patterns are so different in both sides that I don't think it would be fair to the products. But I'm still happy to do a comparison ☺️ and I'll do my best to edit it in a way that will show the differences well enough

I bought mine online from Curlsmith directly. I think you can buy them online from Ulta and you may be able to get them in stores at some Ulta locations. Not sure about that one... It not now, then they'll probably put them in stores at some point.

Yes! Since I own the thickening lotion, I would love to know the diff between these two, and your thoughts. Maybe use Thickening with Flexi Jelly and Voluminzing with Vol Mousse since that is the way Curlsmith intended? And also yes to a comparison with AG Mousse Gel - i have that too and I love it.

I gotta say I absolutely LOVE your results! And like you said it really is all up to personal preferences. Curlsmith knocks it out of the park with their stylers. (I dont like their shampoos and conditioners.)
I would love to see the difference between the volume lotion and thickening lotion. Maybe paired with the hydro style flexi jelly because it's a reliable gel you probably have some experience in using over the years.
I feel like the volume strength volume foam works well so no need for the spray unless you really need the texture.
Your results definitely make me want to pick up the mousse right now! But I'm holding strong until they're on sale. This line seems it would pair well with the anti frizz line which sounds perfect for summer.

I will say that I got someone saying they (and others) found that it didn't feel great in their hair and left it feeling gunky. I didn't notice that, so I'm not sure if it's a hair type thing or not, but thought I'd mention it.
I am still curious to compare the two lorions, but I think they're getting rid of the thickening lotion and will only have the volumizing lotion going forward. It could still be interesting to compare, but it would be more for curiosity than anything else. ☺️
@@Linas_lovelylocks I just looked up the volumizing lotion and you're right they did discontinue it. I can't find it on ulta or their website. Makes me happy I picked it up last year I just have yet to try it.
And thanks for the tip about the feel of it in the hair! Personally I'm not too bothered by it but I appreciate it.
And as my personal preference I love the beachy, voluminous looks and your results really did look amazing!
I personally didn't find it left any texture on my hair and was pretty happy with it. I'd just heard it from someone else, so wanted to mention it. ☺️ and I remembered you saying in the past you prefer this look. I thought it might be a line that you like.
I have a feeling the full body thickening lotion is discontinued. They seem keen to get rid of stock. It’s been -50 % for a long time now
I think you're probably right. I noticed after that they're taken it off their site too. I suppose I could always do a busy still for those who are curious if there's a difference. But if they're discontinuing it may not be as high of a priority.
i believe the mousse needs to be emulsified hard to turn to a white creamish consistency
