    Just found this channel and SO glad I did! I am new to the curly/frizzy world. I've always had fine hair, but it was a nice density and soft waves. Welp. Here comes menopause! In 3 years, my hair went from lovely and soft to extremely fine, thin, low density, high porosity and frizzy/curly!! I was about to give up and shave my head (only partially joking) and then came across this channel. Yesterday, I tried some of your suggestions for fine, thin, curly hair the first time and OH MY GOSH!! The difference was astounding! For the first time in a long time, my hair looks kinda/sorta....dare I say...cute??? I'm going to continue to test out some of the products and techniques you recommend. But I feel hopeful for the first time in a long while with regards to my hair. I may learn to even *love* my new menopause hair! Thank you!

    I always learn something to try with your videos. Such great recommendations. I discovered a cheap $4-5 brush from Goody at Walmart with mixed bristles that tames frizz with brush styling. I’m lazy with brush styling and my hair doesn’t care, lol. I think it’s mainly because my hair is so thin. I also finish with a spritz of my non aerosol hairspray before diffusing. But the Quidad gel really is amazing for frizz. I discovered that thanks to your recommendation. Plus it really is affordable considering the small bottle I purchased has lasted over a year and still going strong.

    I've been binging all your videos. Been learning how to style my hair. I've used so many of your tips and tricks. Before I saw your videos I went and bought the Trelux brand and bought their kit. Unfortunately their products just did not work at all. I recently bought the travel size of the ouidad gel you recommend and OH. MY. GOD! My curls are soft and bouncy with great hold! It feels weightless. My only thing is I'm still using the trelux curl cream and I don't think it's the one I need. So I'll have to search for a replacement. But just adding this gel has made a significant difference. I bought the 32oz lol

    Please help, I started my curly (wavy?) journey two months ago and my hair looks AWFUL. The curly girl method does not work for me. Someone on reddit said I likely have wavy hair, not curly, I would say I'm 2C/3A and my hair is extremely fine and thin/low density. I'm on the verge of giving up cuz I have never felt so unattractive and my self esteem is in the gutter.

    • @artax9683
      @artax9683 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      It could take a long time for your waves or curls to find their best shapes. Two months is no time in the curly journey. If you're suddenly doing no-poo washing, it could take the scalp awhile to adjust to the oil production, and that in turn means the curls are affected until everything re-establishes a new normal. Keep at it. Give it a year at the very least to determine if you like or don't like your results. From another low density wavy, take it from me, you'll have to give up on the dream that the curly journey will transform your hair into something its not. It might not ever be thick and luscious like you want it to be (like all these curly haired youtubers with thick and consistent hair patterns). And here's a tip- honestly, the big secret to having good curls in the haircut. Go find a great hairstylist (not average, not so-so, a GREAT hairstylist) and pay for someone to give you the best haircuts for your own head of hair.

      If your hair is fine (mine is) common tips may not apply. For example, my hair does better in humidity and I actually use steam to smooth frizz and encourage curl, so humidity control products scare me. Gels also make my hair crunchy. I like AG recoil and the lighter Deva cream. I also use Olaplex 3 regularly. Sometimes I even mix a little with water in my hands and use to tame frizz on dry hair. I try to air dry (hate diffusers) and fluff at the end with a shot at the roots from the blow dryer. Second and third day hair is the real challenge for me.

    All that hair breakage you talked about in the beginning 3:30 is from the perm; it either being rolled to tight or the way the was put in the rollers and the band on the perm rods cause breakage in conjunction with the chemicals. There is no fix for that. You can hide it with styling products as it grows out that is the only option.

      It’s normal to shed some when you’re styling. Ideally it’s just not excessive. I usually have about 5-10 hairs or so from styling. If you’re dealing with hair loss
      though from a condition, you can skip brush styling
