Have owned the M5 Comp for 3 months now and I have to say that Joe you really captured the essence of driving this vehicle. It is a wolf (super car) in sheep's clothing AND the whole family and all the luggage can enjoy in the fun with you! Stomp on it and this car literally gives you vertigo.

I got my M5 Competition on 01/01/2019 and I must say this car is an insane beast. The way this car handles is incredible and you can be doing 150mph without even realizing it. I love this car!!!!

Couldn’t agree more. My previous vehicles since 1985 included: 1983 RX-7, 1986 944, 2006 997.1, 2008 M3, 2012 991.1 all in manual and a 2018 M550i (which was lost in an accident) and thus my current daily is a 2019 M5 Competition. This is the most tightly put together and powerful vehicle I’ve had. Only have a smidge under 500 miles and can’t wait for summer and getting all the HP after the 1200 mile service. Ride is rough, about the same as my 991.1 on Sport mode, but it’s still more comfortable and I had the 18 way adaptive seats in it. I live in snow country and currently have winter tires on it which is a must in the snow. I didn’t order this like my other cars, but I would have added the night vision, otherwise it’s perfect. Probably will put a E-Venturi intake and a different Gurney flap on the tail sometime later. Cheers.

Just wanted to say hello fm NYC. I am presently driving a 2020 M550i. Previous toys, 1985 Rx7 GSL-SE, 2000 BMW 540i.
I have watched this and the other video a minimum of 25 times. I know them word for word. Many thanks for helping me deal with the wait for my M5C to be built and arrive!

Finally have mine. It’s just the ultimate all-rounder. I find the ride absolutely fine on UK roads (pre-LCI comp), but then I drove an M4 CP before this which is significantly louder and considerably harsher in terms of ride. Ferries me home in quiet comfort when I need it but will always put a smile on my face when pressing on.
great summary. i also don't think the comp is untour-able.. and considering what you get when you lean in..

@@josephjoestar995 In case it helps: the car is very easy to drive and progressive with the inputs. I was a bit apprehensive on my test drive but this is not a car that bites (like my F82 M4 did). If you want to feel the full force you will need to get the throttle into Sport+ and the Transmission into at least Sport - even then, there is loads of pedal travel/feel so you can control the power nicely.
@@PrinceBarin77 that’s really good to hear, I’m actually buying this as a regular car so I won’t want the power all the time especially for a quick trip to the store so that’s nice 👍

19 November 1994.... That's when the Lotto started and I've been playing it since..... I've always wanted a BMW M5 over any other car. Great review Joe, you have real passion and it shows. Well done Joe. Always a big fan of yours. I Saw My first M5 back in 1984 when I wa a twty two year old rookie police officer in Manhattan. Super glad I got ivolved with the 401 k retirement plan. I contributed to the plan for twenty years and when I retired at 40 years of age I watched it grow fornother twenty years. Your not allowed to draw on the 401K plan till you are fifty nine and a half years old and there i am now sixty years old and I plpped down a hefty down payment on a 2022 BMW M5 Competition. Your M5 Comp vedoeos helped me through the arduous 3 month wait perious till my M5 Comp was built and shipped to my local BMW dealer. I'm an early riser and I was sitting in my M5 Comp a four AM with that marvelous engine running exploring all there is to my new M5 Competition. Joe, I have to saythat every time I get into my M5 Comp it's an adventure. I look for excuses to drive it !

Joe you are fast becoming one of the best TH-camrs out there for cars, Chris Harris leaving for top gear created a void which thankfully you and Henry Catchpole are fast filling in. Don't stop what you are doing and keep reviewing cars as much as your updates on your dailies as well.

I suspect they do it deliberate in case some asshole magazine goes on a rant.
All the german brands underestimate the 0-60's. They usually account for 3 people in the car with luggage i believe.

I’ve been looking forward to this for ages - literally checking every day since the 1st drive. It was defiantly worth the wait. Great great job Joe and really like the drone shots. By far the best review I’ve seen. Is it me or is this car almost overlooked by most reviewers?? So excited to collect mine next month (same colour).... think a mistake to have skipped the carbon discs though? I don’t track
Car arriving next week now. Very excited after this video... added more specs for all the driving aids plus the B&W stereo and individual white leather on the dark blue paint and dark carbon interior. Thinking to drive it to Italy and back so I can cross the 2,000 miles and put my foot down!

This video is great. This car looks amazing to drive definitely one of my dream cars
I have been very lucky and driven M2 comp, M4 and M5 comp on track and they are all phenomenal machines. Sure the M2 is the one you want for agility but the M5 is surprisingly good on track. Power down the straights is obviously outrageous but on the brakes and in the corners it's pretty well balanced it hides it's weight well, of course you know it's there but at the same time it really encourages you to push on.
Really hope to afford one of these cars one day. I'd literally take any M car 😂. Current generation is phenomenal.

Joe I can really see your enthusiasm for this car it comes across in the video, between you and Patrick I can see you planned it well and patrick was rather less behind the scenes than you might have thought at 2:24 mins into the vid... he even tries to run up the road after you with the camera,which made me smile.... I loved it.. :-)

What can you say Joe, another fab video great driving in what has to be one of the best cars out there. You leave the other car channel guys in the shade, Top Gear presenter for you in the near future.
Absolute stunner of a review! I don't know who those 20 dislikers are, probably people that got screwed over with the regular M5 while they wanted the comp. Could also be people who didn't expect a good review, getting puzzled by words like "driving dynamics" or "mpg".

Haha cheers man, we went full production on this one, ironically the main Sony camera and proper mic didn't work, thankfully my 4 year old GoPro Hero 4 saved my arse!
Great review Joe, and thanks for comparing against 8 series, i really enjoyed the 840D and i thought that was quick, but really do hope the 8 gran coupe is just a touch more comfy and definitely still looking at M850i as diesels start getting costlier with congestions zones coming into effect!

M5 is great every day driver if I was going to order for my self and M5 competition is different animal. Review is spot on about it.
U probably wondering why I didn’t buy M5 for my self. Well I ordered M850i because is so damn good car and I like the way it look more.
I have to admit I think I am getting old ( almost 50 😱 ) because after having 8 different M cars in a row ( 1M, M3 3 different models M5, M6, M4, X6M ) last few years I started to like M performance cars more for my everyday use.
I can see u enjoy this M5 with same smile like I used to do it. It’s great fun and I have to admit this M5 specially competition is very very fast car. I understand what u saying because I had exactly same feeling.
