For real. 5 seconds depends on your starting speed though. On the highway, it is less than 3 seconds. Cruising at 80 on the highway in my '14 E63 and punch it will get me to 130 in ~3 sec. This M5C will obviously take even less time. This instantaneous pin you to your seat pull at any given point is so addicting, and that's why I can't accept the lag and slow build up in the X3M and have to go with the M5 for my trade in.
I really like the LCI front, including the new head lights. If they'd let you configure that digital instrument cluster it would help a lot liking it more.
That's a huge cost factor, I guess that's why they don't do it. Many people don't realize how expensive these things are. But on the bright side bmw keeps up their interior quality feel unlike some of their competitors..

I traded in my Hellcat last night for one. Wife wanted a family car for our fun ride. I must say the experience is second to none and I am itching at the bit to get my 1200 mile service completed.
Regardless of the fact that I am a Mercedes fanboy, I drove the latest version of the M5 and the W213 E63s on the same day... my goodness the M5 is a monster, absolutely insane
I mean, it is not a world of difference, but the car just makes more sense. The shifts are super smooth, the launch control is ridiculous and the new infotainment system in the 5 series is just absolutely great. The W213 E class is an amazing car as well, but the facelifted 5 series gets my vote, this time.

The trust that is put in other drivers would never happen here in the US. One of those trucks makes a lane change at those speeds its a ball of fire. Still worth it.
Saw one on the road today, in a chocolate color...it had lot of pops when it downshifted on its way to a stop light. I think from 4th to 1st gear. Does a stock exhaust have pops while downshifting ? Cause when he was accelerating hard and let go off the throttle there were no pops but when he downshifted a lot of pops and bangs came...
Was it a 2021 LCI model or a pre-facelift M5? Especially the pre-facelift non OPF models sound great and do have pops and bangs even on stock exhausts when down shifting.

One thing... I'll see you guys often turning the steeringwheel about 45 degrees right before "launching". Is it just me noticing that or is it something else? Reason? Keep it up boys!
