Appreciate you checking me and telling us to slow down and take our time with the set up. I'm getting ready to move into my new space and honestly I've been obsessing over my office! That's great advice and makes a tons of sense.
I don't want to be a spoilsport here, but as an interior designer I would like to advise against two things in this video: 1. Never place your office table with your back to the door, the human primal instinct doesn't feel comfortable in the subconscious because it doesn't know whether “danger” is imminent. 2. Never place your office table directly by the window, facing outside. Your eyes will thank you. It is best to place your office table so that you have a view of the door/entrance. Also make sure that you have enough daylight on your table and that the light shines best from the side. Otherwise, good video and nice room
I agree with don´t place the desk or table directly in front of the window, looks uncomfortable to my eyes and also I think it may be easy to get distracted by the impulse to take a look.
Couldn’t agree more. I first started with my desk against the wall that had a big window… it was nice BUT my back was completely facing the door and just felt so weird when I was home alone. It was the very first room once you got upstairs. Very eerie feeling. I ended up moving my desk to the opposite side of the room (also in a corner) that has a small window hitting my desk to the side AND I was facing the door entry. Lol made a world of difference.
@@a_garcia90 Cool, thanks for your input. You wouldn't believe how many people don't believe me, then do it the way they want and then change everything again. Do you also feel more creative and focused now?
@@Fryzlr definitely helps keep my eyes on my work/screen more! Having my back facing the wall had me turning my head around wondering who was coming upstairs. Lol.
Excellent points. I have a large beautiful room for an office, and it's a cluttered mess with a 20 year old particle board desk. I am ready to revamp the entire thing, and this was inspiring. I just wish it didn't take so long! One crazy take away for me... that Husky drawer set. I would have never even considered something that utilitarian, and yet it works perfectly. I'm totally stealing that idea! It's exactly what I need for all my tools, hobby parts, camera gears, guitar stuff... that's just awesome. Thanks for putting this together!
Thanks for the watch! I will have to warn you the Husky chest is awesome but HEAVY. I would definitely measure your staircase if you plan to bring it upstairs and be prepared to have like 4-5 people help you lift it or push it
Absolutely amazing video! Currently planning out my office because I am sick of the clutter. There are a bunch of cool products I want but I care very much about intentionality and aesthetics, so I don't want to buy things I will regret. (One extra thing to consider in a room is the vibe in regards to temperature, humidity, air purification and candles/scents)

@@edwardleefilms yeah I agree on both sides. I'm like you on spending wisely but also, alot of people want to quickly and for cheap, have a nice room. I'd say it depends on how hard you'd like to go.
If what you see doesn’t fit your budget then use it for inspiration instead, plenty of options on the market. You don’t have to have every single thing exactly like he does. Throw some of your personality into it & what suits your budget. Great video as always 🙌🏼

bro, your aesthetics are always on point and it shows in even your physical space. really enjoyed the way you broke down your thought process. definitely going to use this to help plan and design my own space!
The color palette and materials are two of the elements that should never be underestimated in a work environment. Many people think that it's a myth, but the truth is that they're things that can directly influence productivity and inspiration to work, especially because of the stimuli they can generate. In addition, of course, the interior design and the general decorating style will be decisive in it. My wife and I recently swapped our old desk in our study for a Protractor desk by Barcelona Designs and added some plants. I need to change my desk chair to a really ergonomic one and make other minor changes, but we're on the right track. Nice tour!
I really liked your videos on your desk setup and your approach inspires me in my project of desk setup. Could you make a video about your drawer where you keep the items? It looks highly ergonomic, but I don't get the details. Thanks a lot and greetings from Ukraine!

Beautiful video. I’ve been on my fengshui kick the past few years and I don’t like my back to the door, but man, I might have to break a couple rules and emulate your set up. It just works and it’ll hide the cords.
Yes, Ive definitely seen this commented a few times. Personally, this setup just works for me and I typically keep my door open. Everyone says not to put your desk by a window too and if you look on my channel I tested out a different setup and had the desk by a wall but it just didnt feel right. Desk by window and back to door, breaking all the rules haha
Amazing. My question is, what’s your set up for this video since you aren’t by the light on the corner? What light and how you set it up? What mic? Thanks!!!
Thank you! Great video. Just trying to re-organize my home studio. I’m a Color Consultant and have been for 30+ years. I tend to save too much. So funny about the boxes. Why do we like to keep them? I put them into each other so they are not scattered around. I call it my “neat boxes”. Time for a change. I have the same colors that you use… only in a lighter gray. Even my ceiling is a light gray. White woodwork and white counter. Wood tone desk in same color as yours with white bookcases. Actually, in the world of color, which is my world, a neutral gray is considered the best neutral over black and white. In my case, it helps when creating color palettes for clients whether for their home environment or clothing and/or makeup. I need to get things out of boxes in my studio closet. You have inspired me! Thanks, again!!!
You have a healthy approach to your working space. I sometimes forget how important these aspects are. Neglecting your focus area can lead to a significant negative impact on your productivity.
I've been on a home office tour kick the past few days and have seen a dozen or so really, really cool setups, but I had to push pause at the 0:24 mark because I haven't ran across a closet set up just yet, I gotta put this video on the watchlist and come back to it and fully watch it because I'm at work lol.
Fantastic video. I love the idea of being okay with the empty spaces for a long time, as long as you're working towards the design goal. I happen to live with a person who fills spaces beautifully AND quickly lol so it's hard to not compare myself negatively to that kind of efficiency. But lemme tell you, when I finally moved my desk setup to the perfect spot, got my plants in place, and bought a reed diffuser (big recommendation for those. I copped from Harlem Candle Company)....oooh that felt great lol. Looking forward to finding more perfect spots.
