    I really like how the hands have metal frames, but the white lume extends beyond the frame as if it is reaching out to meet the indexes. It is a really unique handset in a world where most handsets look pretty derivative of something or another

    That blue dial is gorgeous! Not too shiny, no sunburst effect. Just a perfect matte blue for me 👍🏻

    Love my 42mm exactly same color way as this one...really love the design.

    Did they stop producing a 42mm? Can't seem to find it. Just discovered this brand and all reviews, including yours, seem quite positive. I love the design, but am thinking the 38 might be a tad too small for my taste. 6.5 inch wrist, but I'm used to 40-42mm (brand depending ). Thanks for your reviews Rob! Enjoy your videos and trust your opinion. Take care.

      I bought 42mm on ebay which was being advertised as a 38mm.
      Decided to keep it due to the rarity of the 42mm, and it looks good also on my wrist.

    Had to comment - this is getting close to perfection. Specs, dimensions, price. I love the dial. Probably my only quibble is with the clasp. I prefer a double pusher.

    The new MAEN Skymaster which should be preorder opening next month will be pretty cool, as well. 38mm swiss ETA automatic chronograph (not 7750) with a thickness of under 12mm.. I think maybe even under 11mm.. Impressive for a starting price of I believe just over $700. I mean the fact it has a swiss automatic chronograph movement that is in a case so compact is the top feature for me.. simple 3 handed watches often seem to have trouble squeezing into case sizes that small and under 12mm thick.

    That's a good looking watch. Not the typical Submariner homage look. Ceramic bezel inserts would be a instant buy.

    Worth noting that it is water resistant to 10 atm as opposed to 20 atm for standard divers. I think they do offer a separate caseback to change the display caseback out to get it to the 20 atm.

    Holy crap...drilled lugs would've made this a 10/10 watch. It's awesome in every way otherwise. If I would quibble I'd prefer arrow hands, but that's extreme quibbling. Great size!

      no doubt, its nice at this price point. but.. misaligned bezel no pip aluminum insert bracelet end links dont line up with case i could keep goin. still, nice watch. ill be picking one up next batch.

    • @caomhan84
      @caomhan84 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@datboytalkinrungotellem aluminum bezel inserts are fine. Rolex itself didn't start using ceramic until 2010. No pip, no big deal unless you're diving. Endlinks don't line up? I don't notice usually...and it's not an issue at all if the watch is on a strap, as 99% of mine are.

    • @datboytalkinrungotellem
      @datboytalkinrungotellem 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@caomhan84 alum is ok, esp since there is a vintage vibe with the crystal. no pip = timing at night difficult. its nitpicky ill agree, even at its price. the bracelet links do not line up with the tips of the lugs. drilled lugs would be welcomed, agree. intend to wear on nylon/strap as well. not trying to pick on you, just wanted to present an argument against 10/10 rating. peace my friend.

    Beautiful watch. It needs a ceramic insert and 200m depth rating though. Charge $50 more if necessary. Hopefully they make those changes on the next version.

    Nice find. I have a little under a 7-inch wrist. I could not find a price on the 38mm one but the 42mm was 399 Euros. I happen to like lightweight watches and no larger than 40mm unless the lug to lug is shorter like how the Seiko SKX models for example.

    Lately I've been seeing a lot of micro brands where the design was a bit off in my eyes. This thing is close to perfection.
    With 8 inch wrists I'd need the 42mm, so went to their page and subscribed. Hope the July they mentioned as delivery isn't next one..

    Hi Rob! I really enjoyed this review. I love the 38mm! They have a Hudson MkIII on the maen site now but with a different movement - STP1-11. I’ve tried to look up the differences but it’s hard for me to figure out whether it’s a much worse movement. Since the 28-24 was one of your main selling points for the Hudson maybe it’s worth it revisiting it. Do you still think it’s a good buy at 399 euros?

    I have a 38mm in blue. It is beautiful. But I don't like the single dome sapphire crystal as it makes viewing the time from an angle problematic. (I think a double dome crystal would be better--like the one on my Seiko Tuna). And the screw in crown can be a bit finicky. But overall a nice watch. Maybe I just have to get used to the single dome crystal.

    Not for me, just watching the video can see a huge flore in that the hour hand almost touches the hour markers and they have the same shape and width size so you will have to look at the dial for longer between 10 to and 10 past every hour. Would have been a contender if the hour hand was a little different like that of a snowflake hand or something.

    What in the world is going on? I kept watching to see what the catch is. Like what's the ONE thing that's wrong with this watch? And it never came. You just kept going and going and it's a perfect watch. It's a little bit like the Tudor Black Bay 58. But actually the dial is quite well done.

    • @SuperPeleke
      @SuperPeleke 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Scott Jacobsen Actually owned 4 Tudors, I have a black bay 58 right now.

    • @SuperPeleke
      @SuperPeleke 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Scott Jacobsen the case shape and size, slab side mid case design with exposed unguarded crown, aluminum bezel, that finishes to the edge of the case, 20mm lug width with female articulating endlinks, box domed crystal. Functionally very much like the black bay 58.

    Had this watch for a few months. It is nice but the bracelet was a big downer. Sharp edges, clasp felt cheap..had $100 watches with better bracelets. The crown also didn't fully screwed into the case. Good looking watch, with some shortcomings, wouldn't call it killer. My two cents 👍🏻😬.

    Well, this is a good example of a good "specs" watch but in reality it's super boring. It looks very generic, very plain dial and markers. It has a dive bezel but no lume pip and only 100m WR. Worst of all, the LOGO, the identity of the watch, is badly printed on the dial, with a very boring font too...
