This channel inspired me to decorate my new home in the English country style. I knew I had achieved my goal when my youngest son said "This place looks like an antique shop". 😅
I think the large domed plate is actually a gateau plate, meant for serving large sponge cakes. The doming helps to slice the cake and take a piece more easily! 😊🍰
Rachel, I am sensing that you are not quite your chipper self. There is just a glimmer in your eye that is missing. I have been concerned for a while now. This video had all the things I love and expect from you but your shine is just not as bright as usual. Sending love and prayers! Thank you for sharing these gorgeous pieces with us!❤️
I’ve collected Antiques for 30 years. It’s really good to get to know the owners of the Antique Store, as you get better deals and often a history of the piece. Nice store
Hi...I am happy to meet you and loved this video. I agree with the lady a few comments before me. The domed plate is a cake plate. Our taste in decorating is identical only I do not like anything blue! I have the same things in place settings, vases, tea pots only mine are red, green or white. We would be great shopping buddies! I'm headed to you're Etsy shop right now.
Everything in the video is beautiful: the thrift store's displays & all the items shown; and your home. I especially love the blue & white porcelain/ china items.

Hi Rachel, your home is so beautiful!! I love watching how put things together. I really loved the red transfer ware. I went to your etsy shop hoping to see them there but alas they weren't. Where I live you just don't find all these lovely things except in antique stores where they are out of my affordability. So I will continue to dream and enjoy your you tube videos. Thank you so much for sharing :)
Good morning, Miss Linda! What a sweet compliment, I appreciate you taking time to visit. There is a red transferware tea cup remaining, the salt & pepper shakers sold rather quickly. What kinds of red transferware pieces are you looking for? Perhaps I can keep an eye out for them...
The stuff on that table at the very beginning 🤯 all the blue and white, the brass pear, the horse head bookends and big wooden bowl! I never come across that much good stuff at one time anymore!
I love all your thrifted items! Your home is so lovely and I enjoy seeing how you use all your treasures in your decorating. You certainly have an eye for the most beautiful things and how to use them. Thank you for your inspiration!
Love the hauls that you purchased. Love the red/ white transfer ware. Love how one can repurpose items I’m not bothered by slight chips or if there is cracks because they are very useful in other ways. Thank you for sharing and take care.
Another side note is that showing the inside of the stores and their vignettes is also great for ideas. When I saw the print of what looks like the Empire State Building(?), I remembered I had printed out a picture of the old 195 Broadway building I used to work in from the 1920s. Now I have to find it and frame it for my office!
Hi Rachel.. so good to see you 😊 Lovely video with lots of inspiration as usual .. I’m really trying to follow your lead and stay intentional with my shopping and buy slowly.. I’ve been searching for a hutch for several months and finally found one at an Estate sale in my neighborhood! It was day 3 of the sale & I got it for 40 dollars!!! Solid maple..Ethan Allen in excellent condition.. it just needed a good clean and polishing.. I’m having a wonderful time decorating it with my antique dishes & it’s providing a lot of extra storage too.. I so look forward to your videos..Thanks so much for all your inspiration & education on creating the English Cottage look 😌 Belinda from Ky
What a wonderful find for a great price! How satisfying to watch & wait for just the right piece. Thank you for the kind comment and for being here, Miss Belinda!
Beautiful finds! I have red & white, and blue & white transferware, but I recently began purchasing green & white to use with my red & white at Christmas.
I enjoyed the thrift/antique shop visits and your commentary! It would be fun to shop with you in real life. I loved your choices, most especially the bookends and the transfer-ware pieces! I’m always hunting for berry bowls, they are smaller, more like for a dessert. I love serving my children snacks in them and using them every day. If they break, it gives me an excuse to hunt for new ones. :)

Rachel, you provide just the right inspiration for the English country style of decorating. It's so helpful to see the process of decorating in this style. I always look forward to the next video. I was so excited yesterday to see that there would be something new today. I'm not sure where I saw it previously, but I had seen the art of the two girls at the piano and had been searching places to get it and it popped up in your Etsy store. I immediately scoffed it up to help with the gallery wall I'm trying to create in my bedroom (in addition to the young girl art I previously purchased from you). Now I look around your home and keep an eye out in the Etsy store to see if you are going to sell any of my favorites!😁

Hello Miss Rachel. I love the Blue Boy game-that iconic painting is in Los Angles at the Huntington Library and Gardens-the most amazing place. I have that same Spode plate and I think it is a cake plate-that is what I have used it for but I love your ideas.
Hello! The "Blue Boy game" is fun! Yes, I do believe the Spode plate is for cakes ~ how fabulous that will look! Thanks for stopping by & have a blessed Easter.
I’ve recently found my first thrifted pieces of the red transfer ware English castles. My husband and I had our DNA done and I found out my background is 86% from Wales. That burner cover would be a beautiful cake or dessert plate. I’m currently on the hunt for the salt and pepper shakers to gift to myself for our 40th anniversary which is August 12. You’ve given me so much inspiration for my home. Thank you Rachel.
I love the brass filigree cut lamp, the coffee/tea pot, and that vintage landscape water color. Just gorgeous!! Always thrilled when a new video comes out🌸 I live in Oklahoma…what is the name of the first place you visited (or did I miss the name)? ~Linda
Good evening, Miss Linda! The first stop was a tiny thrift store called the R.O.C. It is connected to a church, and the initials stand for: "Reach Our City." Happy hunting!
Wonderful haul, I recently went to an antique store near me and found quite a few red transware. For a good price. I was so excited. I have been wanting to find red for certain holidays. Thank you again for sharing.
Oh what great finds! I love that antique watercolor, and all of your blue and white pieces. I'm at a point now where changing my decor is not really feasible, but I enjoy watching you decorate your beautiful cottage. Have a blessed Easter!
Can someone please explain to me what a thrift store is? I'm English and we have 'Charity shops ' where goods are donated for free and the proceeds go to the charity that the shop supports. Or, we have 'antique shops', some of which include goods from the 1950s - 1960s which of course aren't true antiques. Is a thrift store a charity shop?
Hello there & welcome! In the states a "thrift" shop is very similar to a charity shop except they are either a chain of stores (as in a franchise), or they are individually owned. There is one large thrift shop I frequent that gives 100% of their proceed to homeless women & children. Antique shops can be a mixed bag with true antiques over 100 year old, or vintage items that are 25 years old, or less. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any more questions!
The pieces you picked up are all so beautiful!! My jaw dropped when I saw the Johnson Brothers red dishware because I used to have several pieces of this style. I bought them for about a dollar 😄😄😄or less from a "junk" shop in 1977 and loved them. I must have lost or sold off my collection but still remember how beautiful the Johnson Brothers dinnerware is. Great finds and thank you for sharing the knowledge you have regarding figuring out the age of wood frames!!

Thanks so much! Your kitchen looks great. 🤗
Thank you!
I live in okc ! What store was this?
Hello, there, Miss Kathryn!
This thrift store is called "the R.O.C.". Which stands for: "Reach Our City." Happy hunting!
Hello, there!
I'm glad you enjoyed your visit!
Yes, it's rare and exciting to come across red & white transferware. Thanks for stopping by today!
