I don't recall this ad. Bob Hope, drove a Cadillac DeVille, about every two or three years, would buy new again. A very well know fact! California black plate number: "TFM" THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!
From Los Angeles California USA 🇺🇸
    Best regards 👍

Remember actually “rolling” up the windows?

I prefer the 71 or 72 even though 73 was my year of birth.

A Galaxie 500 should be anything _but_ quiet. it should be loud.

When it was put on the Ford LTD body ESPECIALLY after 1972 (when it was basically an LTD with cheaper seats and a few less options) it was automatically very quiet. Before that, yes it was louder...

This was the year *after* Bob ended his association with Chrysler, after nine years of sponsoring his specials and "CHRYSLER THEATRE" series.

I always saw Bob Hope as a Chrysler man.

Bob Hope would endorse any product as long as he got a big enough check.

Power steering, power disc brakes, automatic transmission... And you still had to roll up the windows manually.

The FUNNY thing is power windows WERE available, you would think if they were going to have to close the window for the sound test they would have included that option to make the commercial more "Slick"!!!

The LTD was the more popular one with Power Windows and locks

Is it really that big of a deal to crank the windows up manually, power windows from that era like to quit working
