Love your videos, I’ve been fishing White Point since I was a little kid, and I’ve recently gotten into kayak fishing, and got some rig ideas from you! Your channel got my dad fired up on the idea of going out with me too! Thanks for the great videos keep it up 👍
Thank you! My schedule has been all over the place. I might try and get out this weekend on an early morning. If not, I gotta wait for my next day off from work. For sure! You be safe as well and maybe one of these days we'll run into each other out there.
Hey man me and my buddy met you at the mid bay bridge and after what you told us we went back and caught a redfish and some trout. Love the videos and they are great help, keep it up!
Always enjoy your videos!! A buddy and I did a Guide trip when I was there in May out of Rocky Bayou, speckled fish, and reds. No need to enter me into the contest, but keep on shooting your vids they’re awesome.
Thanks Joe! I've built some confidence over the years by knowing the capabilities of myself and my kayak. As well as reading conditions/weather and picking my days wisely. My schedule doesn't always line up to have a fishing buddy so I just try and be as safe as I can while enjoying big open water.
That seems accurate. I didn't run into any schools this trip like I've done in the past. I talked to a few other anglers and they had about the same luck as I did. I think the fish get pressured a lot more now so early season they might be schooled up and not as finicky.
Maybe we'll run into each other next time. The snapper were tough. I think all of the triggers and grunts were tearing through my bait. Lucky! I've been wanting a mahi from the kayak, hoping to get one next time.
I appreciate the advice. Next time I'll dedicate more time to finding bait because I counted on marking bait on my way out but didn't mark anything. I thought the frozen cigar minnows would get it done. I was wrong.
You are the TH-camr that inspired me to buy my first kayak and take it offshore. Especially because I live in Navarre and you have a lot of Navarre reef fishing videos on your channel.
Thank you! I appreciate that because sometimes it's tough to not let out a few curse words, especially when things get frustrating. Also, I've learned that I do have a small young audience so I do my best to not lose it when things aren't working out.
Great video man. Was trying to get out and do some fishing for snapper but didn't ever manage to get the kayak out to Navarre. Sweet to see someone getting some catches in this part of the summer!
Thank you! Man, that sucks and I feel you on that. I've been trying to get out to Navarre since the season opened. So many things didn't line up for me(days off, weather, didn't have my truck for a bit, and work). I knew this late season was gonna be a bit tough and I'm just happy with my catches. Maybe I can get out on the fall weekends for red snapper.
That's awesome! Kayak fishing is life and it gives you so much more access to fishing areas. Once you get them I hope you can get on the water soon to slay some fish.
Love the videos brother! I missed out on the main snapper season this year but I will be making some trips over to the reefs for the fall weekend season! Just picked up an older old town predator and love it inshore fishing so far. Can’t wait to get out to the gulf side soon!
Thanks brother! I hope you get out there. I'm trying to get out there at least one of the fall weekends. I'm looking at getting another kayak and will most likely get an old town 132. Maybe I'll see you out there!
@@oafishing cant go wrong with it other than its a bit long for loading in the truck but its super stable and tracks well! Yessir if I see you out there ill flag ya down!
@@TyBudAdventures thanks! This is the feedback I need from old town owners. Flag me down for sure. I'm never too cool to talk to other anglers on the water, especially when they support the channel.
You're the giveaway winner! I re-did the raffle for the giveaway because the previous winner did not reach out. Send me an email to oafishing11@gmail.com on where to mail the package.
@oafishing thanks! I've been putting in near the base diving club and paddling out into the bay, but I cant seem to figure out what the fish are wanting in those flats. Going to keep trying for sure
@@dontplaythatsongdude If the dive club is over by Ben's Lake, try fishing the mouth of Ben's lake if there isn't much boat traffic with paddletails, twitch baits, jerk baits, or live shrimp. If it's too busy push left toward Lower Memorial. A lot of grass flats that way. The redfish and trout like to hangout in that area.
I use my fishfinder with GPS. I originally downloaded the reef numbers/coordinates file from Strikelines and uploaded it to my fishfinder. The FWC website has all of the FL public reef/wreck numbers and you can also plug them in manually into a fishfinder which I have also done for some.

What setups do you use for off shore? It looked like the sabiki was one of your inshore setups. I have too much tackle already so I'm out for the drawing.
This trip I brought four but two or three will do. I just like having options. First setup was my bait rod that you've seen as one of my inshore setups. It's a St Croix Triumph 7' Medium Fast Action with a Daiwa BG 3000. For the reefs/trolling I run two rods. 7' St Croix Mojo Inshore Heavy Fast Action with a Penn Spinfisher 5500. A 7'6" Bull Bay Heavy Fast Action with a Shimano Saragosa 6000. Fourth setup for casting(Can also be used as a bait rod) is a 7' St Croix Avid Inshore Medium Heavy Fast Action with a Daiwa BG 4000. If I had to pick only two for offshore it would be the Avid and Bull Bay Rod.
@@waynetisue6828 Dialing in the right gear is important. I'm always trying to figure out my gear and only "try" to bring what I need but sometimes I get crazy because I want to do it all. Especially when fishing the flats and midbay bridge. I want to hit the flats for redfish and trout with lighter gear and tarpon, big redfish, jacks, and big black drum with a bit heavier gear.

Cool stuff Omar. It is amazing to me that you fearlessly head out on big open water in your kayak.

Ruby's are great eating
That's what I've heard. I could've easily had a fish fry and fed the neighborhood with how many I caught.
The snapper numbers where not here as in previous years imo. Good day

I missed you out there that day.
I got a mahi and Spanish trolling between reefs
No snapper

That late in the season you gotta have live bait to catch snapper out there.

Man I miss fishing Navarre. Great fishery, you put some work in on em! Cool video
Definitely a great fishery out there. They sure made me work for it and was just glad I put something in the cooler. Thanks man!
