My son just told me to check out your videos. Him and his buddy just talked to you they are out in the jonboat and said you gave them some really good tips. appreciate you taking the time to talk to them and help them out!
I appreciate the support! It's always great to see the new generation on the water. They were very polite and I hope they have some luck catching fish!
That's the kind of luck I have and I'll take it haha. I'm trying to get offshore like you! Get you some of that inshore when those offshore days don't pan out.
Yeah buddy! Thanks bro! It’s hard to put that xrap down when it’s fairly consistent with bites even though the fish aren’t always giants it’s still a blast. I hope you get on them!
This might be a dumb question…. I’ve been kayak fishing in freshwater for a few years now and want to get out in the bay. How often do you have sharks come up to your kayak? I’ve seen a video of a bull shark ramming a kayak chasing a fish and I would have shit my pants 😂😂
These were my two main setups for this trip. I always include the setups in the video description. Rod: 7' St Croix Triumph Medium Fast Action Reel: Daiwa BG 3000 Main Line: 15 lb PowerPro Braid Leader: 20 lb Seaguar Blue Label Fluorocarbon Lure: Rapala X-Rap 08 - Glass Ghost Rod: 7' Medium Heavy Fast Action St Croix Avid Inshore Reel: Daiwa BG 4000 Main Line: 20 lb Sufix 832 Braid - Coastal Camo Leader: 20 lb Fluoro Seaguar Blue Label Jig: 1/2 oz and 3/8 oz Bottom Sweeper Bait: Live Shrimp
I was hoping to find one or two big trout in there, but I’ll take what I can get. He was something and he fought great too. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of catching those, especially when they are jumbo like this one.
Caught a 35 and a 40 pound black drum. 35 was at the mid bay and the 40 was at the Freeport bridge. They are some fun fish to catch.
Heck yeah! That's awesome! I never get tired of catching big black drum.
Good stuff Omar! Love those speckled trout - particularly in a frying pan. 👌😋
Thanks Joe! That's right! Tasty!

Small trout but at least the bite was up! Just caught a 20.5 inch one around the area last week so hope you can get onto some larger ones. Sick drum!
I'll take that kind of action any day! Nice! I'm looking for a solid trout like that. Hoping to find one soon. That drum was was a beast!
On the last shrimp and you hook a giant! 😂 nice! I’ve been craving some inshore lately

Crushing the trout on jerkbaits! 💪
That jerk bait is🔥!
You are a big black drum dynamo!
Thanks Joe! I'm amazed at how lucky I get and almost always seem to find at least one at that bridge.
The old reliable ghost! Nice toad black drum!
You know it! That ghost is $$$! Those jumbo black drum are always fun!
Great day on the water. That black drum was thick!
That black drum was thick for sure haha and it fought good too. Days like these are always a good time.
What an awesome day! Nonstop action on the xrap, must of been so much fun. I'm hoping to get some fishing in down there this weekend

I've been kayak fishing saltwater for over 10 years and have never had a shark come up to me, that's both in the bay and the gulf.
Nice. Only been there twice. That the bridge closest to Destin?
That's the bridge in the middle of the bay that leads to Destin.
What’s your setup looking like as far as rod reel and line?

Nice day of fishing. Did you launch from Gunter?
Thanks! I sure did.
Is 08 the size of the glass ghost? Any know?
Yes, that's how Rapala sizes them. They do have the sizing chart that breaks down the actual dimensions. The 08 is 3 1/4" long and weighs a 1/4 oz.
Awesome. Yea man was out there yesterday with zero luck. Going back out to the Santa Rosa Bay tomorrow.
Are your hooks sharp?
Most of the time yes. I'll use the same hooks pretty must until they rust, bend, or I lose them.
Nice school of trout. Too bad they were on the short side. That Big Ugly though.......
