      The title track is mt fave song of maybe all time but I think it's honestly one of their worst albums. Still amazing though.
      And both Solution 45 albums were great as were many of Christian's other bands. Espcially when he plays guitar. Love his riffs so much.

    When Christian Alvestam left the band, they had to hire two guys to replace him. 'Nuff said.

    • @satanslittlehelper802
      @satanslittlehelper802 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Okay, so that's not quite true. According to Per, Christian had trouble both singing clean and growling on tours, so they *decided* to have two separate vocalists and Christian even recommended either Lars or Robert to them when he left the band. That's not supposed to take away from his singing and I also like Solution .45, but spreading that rumor makes it sound like a dishonest affront to the current band members, who are great, too.

    • @fatsuperfly
      @fatsuperfly 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They went separate ways, i think they respected each other to not mention the bad stuff, I’m a big fan of this band. It was something that would happen, rather leave n talk crap like other ppl. They decided it was best to move on, but it still love the band.

      @@satanslittlehelper802 That's also not the full truth. From TVTropes page:
      "The gist of why Christian Alvestam was kicked out. Per has made it clear that while he still respects Christian as a musician, he has absolutely no respect for him as a person; his habit of doing things like rejecting tour offers without the consent or knowledge of the other members because he didn't like touring didn't inspire any goodwill, and neither did his habit of writing parts that he knew he couldn't consistently pull off live because he had no intention of touring in support of it. The latter was also the reason why they went for a dual-vocalist setup, as he was sloppy to begin with and the idea had entered their heads long before he was fired."

    If you guys like these concepts, look up the following 3 mind friggin blowing experiments (not exaggerating, read on for a very short summary).
    1: Double Slit Experiment - Conclusion: Particles act as particles when observed/detected by people/a-mind but they act as energy/waves when they are *not* actively observed.
    2: Delayed Choice Experiment - Conclusion: Time itself seems to not matter as these experiments rule out active observation while the light is underway. In other words, light particles/photons, change the path that they must have traveled, even when observed AFTER the light had already been traveling through path A or B or C etc.
    3: Delayed Choice Quantum-Eraser - Conclusion: Particles can seemingly time-travel and they can even go through stuff as if it was not there. Also dependent on observation by a consciousness. Time itself is seemingly not linear (like a straight line from 1 direction to another direction, like from the past towards the future.)
    In other words time is non-linear, whatever that means.
    Compare it to playing a video game like GTA for example.
    The totality of te game/sounds/models/missions/possibilities are all stored on the hard-drive (comparable to "time in its totality").
    But when you fire up the game and play, at any given moment you are accessing only a fraction of all of that data/possibility that is stored on the hard disk (or SSD nowadays).
    This universe seems to serve the mind/consciousness for some reason.
    In other words, we humans don't see reality as it truly is and we do not experience space or time or energy as they are.
    So could all of this be holographic and/or simulated? It's not that much of a stretch, even though scientists absolutely don't agree with that conclusion yet ("All things new, are fought against, even though their time has come").

    I think I suggested these guys/this album many moons ago, and while this was done for Deric, I am glad to see you guys get to them (and more in the MDM genre). The album the Holographic Universe is based on the book of the same name by Michael Talbot which is based on the premise that the universe operates much like a hologram. All pieces of a hologram contain all the information of the whole, so if you take a hologram of a picture and cut it in two, you will have two pieces of the same picture. Cut it into as many tiny pieces as you want and each piece will still contain the full picture. That's the youtube comment section version of the theory, where all consciousness is actually part of the whole. Obviously there's more to it than that....but it's an interesting theory nonetheless. As for the music...these guys are great, but Christian Alvestam is (IMO) the best metal vocalist out there. Hopefully someone with more clout than I will suggest his other band Solution 45.

    I think a lot of times influences craft narratives unknowingly too. Vin, did you see the entire nearly 40 minute version of the Rayshard Brooks incident? If not I think there is a stretch in there that might at least get you to think again about the scenario. Rayshard was compliant and the situation was pretty much de-escalated UNTIL the police officer went for the cuffs. However, Rayshard was willing to be compliant without cuffs. Worst yet, they attempted to arrest him for being too drunk to drive...when he was parked and napping.

    This guy's vocals are INCREDIBLE! You know you're good when the band has to hire TWO vocalists to replace you when you're gone. Christian Älvestam is one of the most badass vocalists I've ever heard. He was a guest vocalist on Demon Hunter's "Just Breathe" which is my second favorite song by them. Props to whoever suggested this song and band!
    Might I suggest my usual bands and songs. 😉
    Band: Demon Hunter
    Song: Cross to Bear
    Demon Hunter is my favorite Metal band and I think you need to revisit them, especially since you loved the last heavy song you did. This song is one of their most aggressive and I think the premise is quite interesting. The vocalist said it's about how people use the expression "it's my cross to bear" and that he hates how people use it so lightly without fully understanding the weight of it.
    Band: Exodus
    Song: Sealed With a Fist
    It's about domestic abuse and it's my personal favorite by them. It's got groove and the lyrics are cleverly written. It always puts a smile on my face because it has a happy ending of sorts.
    Band: Lamb of God
    Song: Embers
    This one, based on my understanding, is about the loss of a newborn. I read an article that had a statement from the guitarist saying it was about his daughter. It's beautiful, tragic, and hopeful at the same time.
    Band: Iced Earth
    Song: Damien
    It's about, well, the son of the Devil. Horror Show was an album about different horror icons and legends like Frankenstein, Dracula, the Wolfman, and Damien. This song is particularly memorable because of its opening bass line, the choir that sings, the crushing riffs, and the "colorful" words against Christ used in Damien's perspective. It's an epic song and I'm morbidly curious to see the looks on your faces after hearing certain lines.
    Please consider ANY of these! You won't regret it!

    • @tommystix87
      @tommystix87 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh you mean the two guys (Lars and Roberth) that Christian recommended? You mean the two guys that do what Christian had a difficult time reproducing in live performances?

    • @tommystix87
      @tommystix87 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Don't get me wrong I love Christian Älvestam as a vocalist and love everything he has done. But let's not act like his live performances were completely flawless. There's a reason why he stepped away from Scar Symmetry one reason being that he a had a hard time switching from clean vocals and death growls/screams during live performances cause of the transitions.

    • @SaturnineXTS
      @SaturnineXTS 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What I don't understand is why these two reviewers have 186 thousands subscribers when most of the well known underground bands don't even have 50K? These two talk about getting bands exposure? Now that is just twisted and wrong that they are more internet famous than the bands themselves (using someone else's work to do it when the true artists get buried by the so call fans). That makes no sense... I have the feeling most of these subscribers are not 100% fans of their favorite Metal bands. The Record labels are one thing for subscribers (that make all the money), but the bands themselves is another if you type "official" next to their band name on searches. For example, Scar Symmetry only has 22 thousand subscribers on youtube (sad) and Dark Tranquillity only has about 46 thousand. I just had a conversation about this twisted social media conundrum with a couple of musicians (from the Nuclear Blast label).

    This might surprise you, but the concept of the album is actually based on Michael Talbot's "Holographic Universe" created in the late 80s, which is, basically, another metaphysical/pseudoscientific concept that tries to marry actual quantum physics and your typical New Age stuff. Though, I must say, it never ever talks about pseudoscientific bullshit like paranormal powers or events in relation to said "holographic universe", which Talbot's "theory" was all about. Instead, the album uses it just as a basis and then goes on a tangent with it, rather using it as a metaphor for vague personal and social themes.

    5:28 What is up with that? That is the best part of the song lyrically but they didn't like it. You are definitely not 100% fans of this band. Christian Alvestein is consider one of the best Metal singers of all time by all the true fans that gives any Hollywood Pop Star a run for their money any day. He is the best... This guy is the growler and clean singer together which is extremely difficult to pull off live (which is why he got kicked out of the band since he kept straining his voice and it sounded awkward later in shows, so they said unfortunately). This song is about starting all over again in life and trying to succeed "And then we found it all...Caged inside a dream... All-seeing eye sees afloat...Soon it will see no more..."
    Of course all their albums are universe themed, but the clues are all over with phrases like: "Change how you look at all things and what you see will change, And ever shedding skin, Where everything must work as one and never break in two, Rise on Your Own, etc." Their songs are all very poetic to decipher, but all have meaning about oneself not something like quantum physics.
    And what is up with that leftwing political nonsense (halfway through the video) that completely took the eye off the ball in a band/song review? You know half of us Metalheads are Conservatives, so I wouldn't be sharing bias political ideas because you're NOT going to make people like me ever change... After all, Hollywood (the Party of The Democrats) are the ones that have buried our music away from the media (because they control the media) and most people don't like Metal in 2023 because of them.

    We like to think that we see the same things because we want it to be true. Speaking of a world that operates in the quantum. I kinda douht it at the same time as i can't dismiss the posibility. Just as quantum mechanics states that atoms can be at two places at once. Maybe it just so happen that they do. But our minds trying to make sense of it. In ways that can't really be thought of subjetivly. So our subcouncious just does it for us.

    • @Xmuxxue
      @Xmuxxue 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other ways to describe it is illusions. A trick of the eye. Or wild imagination. But that's boring. Right? Feels better to say that the quantum really is real . Then alot more could be real as Well. Like multiple universes. Multiple realities. Perhaps multiple version of me. Maybe not that crazy to suggest that these so called realities or dimensions would/could interfere with ours making us not trusting our senses at all Times.

    "Hey youtube its ya boy, The Jesus of Nazareth. I died for your sins, click that notification bell. and if you're new like and subscribe."

    So cool to see someone to react to one of my all time fav bands.. All christians stuff is amazing.. I used to share this band with everyone i could in my younger years.. Those first 3 albums are pure gold..
    The new vocalists ruined it for me.. I cant stand it.. Not just bc its not christian is gone.. They just arent good. Annoying and corny af sounding to me.. Per and the band still is amazing tho.. Listen to christian alvestams solo projects... Like self 2.0..

    We vegans see it all the time, that people are just too afraid to change their minds, because then they will have to change their behavior. Although people can be afraid even when they don't have to act any differently 🤷🏼
    addition: I just head Devin Townsend suggesting an explanation:
    "The idea that we are so resistant to ideas that challenge out beliefs ... perhaps we have so much invested in those beliefs, because we are aware that this is a chaotic environment, that we do have no control over. that the one way that we can assume we have some sense of control - is to cling to our ideologies and beliefs with such ferocity, that if they're ever challenged, it means war"
    I think I agree with that. People's beliefs are usually not just technical, but they give us confidence, some order in this confusing world. and if we are unsure of them anymore, we might feel the ground beneath us shaking.

      You are not obligated to assume people have to adjust their diet to appease you....why insist somebody is afraid to change their mind just because they eat meat...some people love it...get over yourself

    I lost interest in Scar Symmetry after Christian left. Their next album was just meh, and I stopped listening to them.
