This show teases you so much over its entire runtime and literally never delivers. No monsters. No interesting characters. Nothing. Why did they even make this damn show if they didn't have a budget for monsters? there's a few interesting scenes (the church scene, the priest scene, the moth scene) that convinced me to give the show the benefit of the doubt while watching but it never delivers.
I assume they were hoping they could get through the first season without monsters and just focus on "character development" but the probem is if nobody likes your characters you are introducing then naturally their mind will wander back to the question "where are the monsters?"

I guess the father figure was somewhat tolerable but the wannabe "bad ass" b***h made me tear my hair out. The effects weren't bad and some of the gore effects were even outright brutal. In short, if you want to watch a live action adaptation of the mist, watch the movie.
I loved seeing the lovecraftian behemoths in the Mist TV show and all the unexplained mysteries and struggles as people try to figure out how to escape Oh wait, it's inner demons, political correctness, and evil nature.
The numbers of bad acting scenes were astounding in this show... The Mist kept changing on trying to explain what it was... Inconsistent writing and illogical situations kept happening. The CGI was bad. The decision-making was bad... Yeah, pretty much all of the elements were off
Without giving any spoilers, its not as SJW as it first appears if you keep watching. It kinda feels like the director was given the memo to include the usual SJW agenda crap, but has subtly twisted it.

I only just recently found out there was a mist tv show, I thought oh cool I liked the movie, so I looked up some videos on it to see if it was worth watching. Turns out everyone collectively seems to agree it's garbage and now I am disappointed without even ever having watched it.
They totally changed it from the movie, in the movie it was like some.kind of interdimensional world was seeping through and the monsters were killing people, but in the show they made it some kind of weird religious punishment show or something but weirdly they include the soldiers who hang themselves because they seem to know what's happening but that makes no sense in this show

Despite everyone hating on this series, it’s actually one of my favorites. I love how Stephen king made Natalie’s personality, I love how it got more creepy over time. I love how nothing ever went completely perfect either and how realistic they made the decisions in the show. I love how the police officer (jays dad) had a personality as well, like he’s nothing without that gun. I just love this series so much and wished they woulda made a second season
A lot of followers in the comments. Everything being complained about is a part of a side plot that actually helps drive the story. Solid series with strong performances from several actors.
