It's not really about the car culture in the USA, it's more about German car manufacturers lobbying the American government because gray market imports were hurting their car sales.
People keep saying Craig is milking the FF franchise for videos but I don't think that's true. It's more of he's the only guy on TH-cam with the firsthand knowledge to make these videos and is trying to let us know everything he does.

The skyline from #7 is in a museum in pigeon forge Tennessee I see it about 4 years ago I'm glad I got to see it they have all kinds of movie cars there they have a Ghostbusters car and lots of different fast furious cars

According to the special features on the Fast 4 dvd, Paul Walker himself suggested the Nissan Skyline GTT which was only $13K at the time of filming versus the extremely expensive R34 plus the Skyline GTT's in the Fast 4 movie were only RWD which made the car easier to drive in the movie in terms of drifting and sliding camera shots. They were not AWD like the real GTR was in the movie.
Back when I was a kid, I was so delighted when I saw the GTT cluster! not gonna lie i feel proud knowing the difference as a kid :D! Because the stunts the car did very much looked like a rwd car aswell.

If they don’t even care about watchers knowing the difference between gtr cluster and gtt, I can see why they don’t give a crap about how far the movies have deviated from the originals. With the true enthusiasts wanting things back how they originally were and not all these heists and brand new stock/boring cars with paint jobs. I.e. mark 5 Supra, challenger and chargers.
Paul Walker was part of the vision they're making now. He's been down with the heists since they started and he's the biggest enthusiast in the cast next to Sung Kang.
This was the last movie that focus on cars, races and custumization. and the Movie was great writing! The story was good and the series maybe should ended her, the nex movies are good but ... is what we know.... this GTR was so good, and the scenes make us like it more. The Scene that the car make downill and Brian say: "Sorry car" show the conection of the driver-car that the characters had in the first movies. ... and that made the movies spechial too! now they use any car, not hero cars, just some random cars to make the stunts and action....

Ryan who owns car number 8. R34_ff4 is an amazing guy! Spoke to him a few times about the car. He has shared a few details about it being in the movie and such, honestly such a lovely guy and has done a lot of work restoring the car and having it be a full GTR conversion
I seen one of the skylines at rustys television and movie museum in Jackson Tennessee. Also one of the eclipses from the first movie at the same place.
A few years back I actually got to see Ryan's car (car 8.1 shown in the video) and take photos of it. This was when the car was still setup like the movie cars and it was an amazing opportunity.
I have several Hot Wheels of the all blue GTR...even those are worth about $25 a pop already and they just keep going up. I say keep making movies, movies make fans, fans drive prices..keep them coming.

The new owner of the black GTT is very aware of the car’s history and it is currently being painstakingly re-furbished and restored.

That 19x11.5 is a mad wheel size for an R34. They must love that sound of the inner guard being torn up by the tire on full lock.
Get proper offset wheels and it's a non issue
