Destructive EF-4 Tornado: Clarksville, TX to Idabel, OK - November 4th 2022 Deadly Outbreak

- On the evening of November 4th 2022, storm chasers Alec Scholten, Max Olson, Evan Hatch and Adri Mozeris were pursuing a supercell thunderstorm with a history of producing strong tornadoes. The next tornado that touched down from this cyclic tornadic supercell would prove to be violent and deadly, a monster EF-4 wedge tornado that would form near Bogata and Fulbright, TX, tracking quickly northeast and inflicting EF-4 damage to a property north of Clarksville, TX. This long track tornado would tear a 53 mile path of destruction into Oklahoma, heavily impacting the community of Idabel.

Man, that was a fast-moving twister, reminiscent of the twisters spawned during the 1974 and 2011 outbreaks. We may not have had an official NWS-rated EF5 since the 13 Moore Tornado, but there have been several strong EF3 and EF4 tornadoes from 2020 until now, which is quite scary, to say the least. They're all happening during unexpected periods too. I cannot help but feel like fall and winter are turning into tornado seasons just as much as spring.

I can't get over how fast that thing is moving when you stop to watch. That had to be going 60-65 mph in that moment.

That thing is terrifying and violent; awesome video!
That tornado went right over my house shortly after this video was taken. It did significant damage to my house and property. Fortunately we have a storm cellar that we were able to get into just before the tornado hit. I am also a trained spotter and was following the storm just before it hit. Thanks for the video.
