At 7:00 we see the upper control arm and lower control arm are separated but that step was not shown. And it's the single most important part of the process! The way to do it is loosen the nut and then a regular person would think the arms separate. Not so. No amount of prying or jacking will separate the arms. Believe it or not, you need a 5 pound hammer. You strike the junction a couple times and it magically releases.
I have a 2011 Ram Dakota 4x4 crew cab Bighorn, i can find any complete Struts for my model year. Do you know of any reason why these struts would not work on my truck? Also, very informative videos, I was able to take my front end apart successfully thanks to you.
Nice. Got a 05 Dakota 4x4. 170k miles. Seems original struts. Parts actually look decent. Boots and all. Tryi g ti figure out what to replace while doing brakes. Have no clue which parts / ball joints are still good or bad. I noticed there isn’t a iut with everything. Why ! Lol. One has one and other has this or that. How about a everything kit. All new shocks and all new replacement suspension parts lol
Any advice/suggestions if the lower strut mount thru bolt is seized and won't budge? I got the driver side done fine, but the passenger side nut came off and the bolt won't turn or move at all.
i wanted to check my ball joints because my steering felt off, turns out my fucking strut broke off the mount and was sandwiched inbetween my lower control arm and sway bar link. it had to have been like that for weeks.

Great video! Except you didn’t discuss or show anything about disconnecting the upper control arm from the steering knuckle, or reconnecting it.

Do you recommend changing that control arm bushing as well? 9:30

There is no way my sway bar links will loosen mabey take off upper control arm and replace would be best
You didn't show removing the upper control arm! Rookie!!!!
