Mighty fine wine Mike. Next video Buffalo wing farm. Pizzaria owns a separate chicken and wing company. Sell frozen to the industry. And fresh too. La Nova Pizza.
Thanks for representing our area Mike . You always do a great job on your videos . I was with Mike when he shot this footage so I know how passionate he is about spreading the world of farming.
Many harvesters around this area and NY . I also have the same machine and we pick all day and night! Always willing to educate the public about grapes!
*That is an awesome machine!* *I was interested in the machine so I went right to Google and discovered that there are 3 versions of this machine; this one, another that picks olives, and another that picks olives AND grapes!*
Very good video as usual. And, as others have already commented, it’s great to see something out of the ordinary like grape harvesting. It is amazing to me to watch all the various machines working and thinking about the development and evolution from hand labor to mechanical systems. Thanks.
Wow that picker is fast... I've got a pulll type I use in my Vineyard but it won't move along that fast. Thanks for posting this it's refreshing to see something a little different
Very Interesting , Always enjoy your channel because you always show stuff we dont see here in ohio. Thank you for sharing this as i have never seen anything on grapes which is very neat to see them harvested.
I live in Erie Pa. It's nice to see this video I have never seen grapes being picked before I have helped pick corn and oats before and helped put hay in at our farm our farm was farther inland so no grapes are grown inland
Thanks for the video Mike. I've never seen a mechanical grape harvester in action before. Here in Australia, the vast majority of our grape harvest goes into the production of table and premium wines, as well as eating varieties. So our grape harvest is done the old fashion way, feet on the ground and by hand in order to keep the quality as high as possible.
Ya it's fun driving on the road behind one of these as well as it on the other side of the road coming at you. I used to deliver parts to one of the companies out there.
All along the Lake Erie shore line even into NY, there are a ton of grapes, my Grandpa had grapes for the longest time just a few minutes from where this was, but unfortunately he sold them
Man, I think I'd get lost out there. You can't tell what row has been picked and what hasn't. Whew, I'll stick to corn & beans. Thanks for sharing Mike!
They generally turn to the right and skip six rows. From the 'catch' tractor you can usually see the berries in the unpicked rows. Darkness adds a level of difficulty.
You bring out the best in agriculture keep up the good work Tantrum Tech HD, Canadian TractorSpotter ,libasan , also do this maybe some of your sub will give them a visit..... later
Thats cool to see. I'm a truck driver and travel I-90 going to Rochester, New York from Indianapolis, In alot. Hopefully if the Covid 19 is under control next summer going on Vacation to Niagara Falls want to see Lake Erie closer than the Interstate. Thanks for the Videos Mike.
Hi Mike , I know these Gregoire machines very well , they are manufactured 15 miles from my home , I had the opportunity to drive one , it is very special, and nothing to do with a combine , on the other hand I did not know the other one ( the pic-ryte ) the concept is old but rather well thought out, where was it manufactured ?
Fun fact, the first mechanical harvester didn't come to the Lake Erie region until the late '60's. My stepmother remembers getting excused from school to help hand pick grapes due to an early frost.
Hello Mike, very interesting video, great machines too. Question, what type of machinery is used to harvest grape as frut? I mean the ones that are sell as frut? Greating from Costa Rica.
when did they come up with grape harvesters 1980's? im sure Gallo Bro's in cali. would be the first to use these..70's they were still hand picked, juice grapes dont need TLC.
I was on a tour in that aria October 2019 and saw Welches name. I wondered what that was all about. I thought maybe apple juice didn't see the vineyards , now I know.
This is actually a huge business in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York because the very deep lakes and steep hillsides keep the temperatures very "even" making for if not ideal then certainly very good indeed great vineyards and vintners. The best way to play it to make money besides just having your own Vineyard of course is through Constellation Brands ticker symbol $stz. Great place to throw ten grand into if you have the cash lying around in your Bank doing nothing nothing as we all do these days. Another great name tho not American should be noted is Mondelez. Not sure what the ticker symbol on that is ($mdz?) but you can skip the whole "i need a stock broker" bs when buying these names as you can just open an account with Charles Schwab and invest the money yourself...unless you start getting into the tens of millions in which case I have some people you can trust with that...along with a litany of those who you shouldn't ever go anywhere near I should add. Love the videos! Keep those cameras rolling! Make sure your vote got counted too!
A new crop for me to see. Very interesting how the harvesters get the grapes off the vine.
NIce to see grapes being harvested in a differnet country. In Austrlia we pick at night with our tow behind LEDA AG grape harvester.
Awesome video Mike.............i from Hawks Bay NZ just about to start first harvest, your vid is very reassuring Sir thank you
Thanks for the video and keep up the great work.
I am friends with Klenzs and haul grapes to Welchs for a different farm. Good video.
Oh neat. Hello from North East!

Fascinating harvest. I never imagined how much work is involved in the grape harvest. Thanks for sharing again.

Good to see a video so close to where I live in New York, thanks again Mike👌
We used one similar to this on our ranch in California for years saved thousands on labor...nice to see some vineyard action on TH-cam!

I really appreciate the different crops and machinery!

This is the first time ever that I see such a kind of harvester...😮👍🏻

Never would have thought that many grapes were grown in Pennsylvania good video

Way different from corn and soybeans
Great video👍

That's one speedy grape harvester.

This is pretty neat! I’m not far from several local wineries, and under 10 miles from Oliver Winery in Bloomington, IN
It was great to see that equipment at work I work for a company we are making equipment for Welch's in Pa
we got a few vineyards in Snyder county Pa and a few surrounding counties but they most hand pick the grapes for wine.
If you have the time, get off at Silver Creek and take route 5 west to the state line. It runs right along the lake, and it saves on tolls.
Mike, I need to see HTH those grapes are picked from the vines! Very cool video!
The fiberglass rods inside the machine move side to side, shaking the berries off onto the conveyor belts.
That was pretty neat never seen that done before🖒
Nice. I will like to see also how they make the juice if possible !

I think a considerable amount still are. Probably more valuable wine grapes to avoid damage if I had to guess.
Hello Mike, very interesting video, great machines too. Question, what type of machinery is used to harvest grape as frut? I mean the ones that are sell as frut? Greating from Costa Rica.
Keeping track of which row has been picked, would be difficult.
Wondering what % of loss due to grapes falling on ground?
About zero ...... very hard to find a single grape on the vine or on the ground .
Are these grapes for making wine? Nice video 👍
Really neat to see, well done Mike..............so that’s a grape cart operator?
Give that operator credit for hitting such a small target!
when did they come up with grape harvesters 1980's? im sure Gallo Bro's in cali. would be the first to use these..70's they were still hand picked, juice grapes dont need TLC.
Nothing compares to the smell of grapes during harvest season! You just can’t recreate it.
Interesting Thanks
That is cool
That was cool - We don't see that in Darke county, do we?
You didn't mention grapes used for raisins, basically grapes after being dehydrated by sucking out the juice
When I lived in Erie we had to hand pick the grapes for Welches

I get naughty with grapes, but they need to ferment a few months first.
