    I hope you will continue to show us your traditional cooking. It’s better than watching all those world famous chefs . Also your traditional attire and lifestyle are so wholesome , healthy and peaceful. It’s very soothing watching your videos . And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.

    Great Info vid. A lot of changes to grape harvesters since I worked with them in the 60's & 70's but the basic idea is about the same. Years ago an inspector (person) rode on the tote trailer to remove missed leaves, birds nest, snakes & mice etc. that made it through the harvester. It's like any produce, if people realized the amount of bugs & other life forms that went into their food they probably would eat more beef...lol 😎

    Hi Tara, this was very, very educational and interesting. You and Mike make a great team in explaining grape and olive harvesters. I have a suggestion: Because you have a large following, ask Mike and Coastal for a live demonstration of their machine on your first grape harvest. So,what time of year will your grapes be harvested?Will be fun to watch one of these in action.Great bunch of engineering to make the machine able to do several jobs. Does Gallo take grapes with stems or only without stems and is there a big price difference with or without stems? I probably missed it but does the harvester go thru the fields once or does it come back in a week or two and do it again?

    • @TaraBeaverCoronado
      @TaraBeaverCoronado  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They will take them with stems. It depends on the field and if the grapes are ripe. For me it’ll probably come and stay until it’s finished with the job.

  • @georgemcpherson3046

  • @gungadinn
    @gungadinn 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Tara, what do you estimate the cost per acre for picking grapes by hand? How many man hours are required to harvest an acre of grapes verses what the New Holland harvester can do?
    I you were miss moneybags, you could purchase a harvester for your vineyard, harvest your grapes, then provide harvesting services for other vineyards in your area. I'm sure that the other vineyards grapes (depending on species of grape) don't ripen at the same time.
    Just think, no paperwork of an agricultural visas, no workman's comp insurance, and no porta-potties in the field.

    Hi Tara...I have a 9090x grand export and currently harvesting in Australia..If I get time I send you a vid of harvesting Oz style...some places here we can do 50 ton per hour....just 1 observation I see,Im pretty sure your T trellis type is not suited to the Braud harvester..I was suprised when I see a new vineyard with this method...I understand it may grow a better quality but sure makes harvesting and pruning difficult for a machine...just ask your local grape harvesting contractor...the salesman wont tell you this haha...good luck

    Hand picking I would think would be better. Yes, very labor intensive, however every grape gets picked. Your providing jobs! I think it would be cheeper in many ways. Plus less damage to the vines...But I've never been on a grape farm, never picked a grape, ate a few, but that's about it... Another words I'm a dumb ass so you should take everything I've said for entertainment purposes only....

    I remember welding and fabricating these grape harvesters and blueberry harvesters for a company in washington, id make $900 for the 2 weeks each one took to fabricate and the company made a million, id build $100k water tank and pump trailers, one each day. Id make $90 while the company made $100k, id build 4 of the $15k bin trailers for apples in a day, the company made $60k and i made $90, agriculture is full of greedy owners and under paid workers, guys like this who sell the equipment get paid more to point out the shit that the guys like me manufacture.
