Now I will tell you that your chemistry with Anne is infectious and there is absolutely no way to deny that because it brightens every video she is in (even the one at the food fest where you just bumped into her). Now, that being said you are a "travel channel" and enjoy making your content around exploring new places and meeting new people, so in that regard I respect you as a man for keeping it friendly with Anne and enjoying each others company when your in town a good friends instead of leading her on or taking advantage of a situation. Maybe one day you will be done with all the travel and look to settle down or start a family and hopefully either her or someone like her will e there. Now Anne, please start a youtube channel. You are getting better and more comfortable with every video you appear in and your simple traditional life is very appealing to many western audiences. You could build confidence but earn a decent living and I'm sure just by the support you could get from this channel alone would give you a very good start with building a solid base community.
I pick the tender upper part of the kangkong like half of the whole thing, snap all the green leaves. The half bottom part is tough, feed it to pigs or you can pickle it, doesn't really matter how long you cut it, you gonna chew it anyway 😊, normally your pointer finger length
There are beautiful places in the Philippines and nice people. I was born and raised in the Southern Philippines but living overseas for 20 some years. Life is really simple back home especially in the province/rural areas.

I hope you get a chance to go there. It's pretty nice. I've also been to Cebu City, Manila, Tacloban, Guiuan, and more. Same for keeping the bones in chicken, however I would still peel the shrimp and just add the shells and head to a fine net bad and boil in the soup then just remove the bad. Maybe its an American thing but I'm with Jonathon and just like to eat m food when its finished.

My first trip was over 50 years ago. However I had to return due to declining health. However I brought back the best part my bisaya wife. American's often ask me how I found such a beautiful good wife. And my answer is always the same . I traveled to remote parts of the Philippines looking for just that a good wife for me. And found one on a small Island. We are both old now and have a good life together. Remember you are now living the best part of your life so enjoy as life go by fast.

"ha" does not have a direct translation to english nor it is not a word but it can mean a lot of things depending on how it is pronounced. On this video, the way that she used "ha" is like a stern warning or reminder. For oy, it is commonly used when they speak bisaya, something that they got used to when they speak. In tagalog, oy is used to get attantion of someone like saying hey. So it depends too on which filipino dialect, this also applies to ha, ba, etc.
I just discovered your channel a couple of hours ago, and this is honestly my favorite video so far. Your friend is wonderful, and I'm glad that you're having a great time in the country. "ha" at the end of the sentence is kind of similar to how some people end their sentences with "okay". It's not a direct translation, but that's as close as I can explain it. 😂 This is also the first time I've ever heard kangkong be referred to as "morning glory" since I know it more as "swamp cabbage", but that just goes to show how different regions/provinces call certain things. Amazing. As for that similar dish Sinigang reminds you of, it might be Tom Yum (Goong) from Thailand. 😂
The shell is not taken out because it adds more flavor to the soup, also keeps freshness/ suppleness to the shrimp-- for a 'french' method-- your option of peeling first is done but also, squish flavor out from the shells separately , filter, then put back into the soup. What's missing there is gabi-- root crop/ yam , boiled into soup to mush-- this would make it cloudy ( also with fresh tamarind with flesh, softened to mush, filtered later ) but with more texture, then, also atsuwete seeds, filtered-- will bring it to a sublime dimension

Hi Jonathan, when someone finishes the sentence with 'ha' it's an assumptive close and you are expected to say 'yes' or 'okay' to the other person hahahaha. In some context, it can also be used to ask someone to repeat what they said.
Shrimp shell adds more shrimpy taste on the soup..if you want to remove the shell,sauté them with the shrimp head,add water,strain then use the soup for your sinigang
"oi" is speaks everywhere in the Philippines it means "hey listen" it also speak as "hoy" .. just a little trivia😊 And you will lose the shrimpy flavor when you removed the skin and head before cooking.

Your video made me smile plus remember my passed. I am now an old man and enjoy watching you tube video's of men in the Philippines as I lived there for years without leaving plus many visits. My first trip was over 50 years ago. However I had to return due to declining health. However I brought back the best part my bisaya wife. American's often ask me how I found such a beautiful good wife. And my answer is always the same . I traveled to remote parts of the Philippines looking for just that a good wife for me. And found one on a small Island. We are both old now and have a good life together. Remember you are now living the best part of your life so enjoy as life go by fast.

"ha" does not have a direct translation to english nor it is not a word but it can mean a lot of things depending on how it is pronounced.
On this video, the way that she used "ha" is like a stern warning or reminder.
For oy, it is commonly used when they speak bisaya, something that they got used to when they speak. In tagalog, oy is used to get attantion of someone like saying hey. So it depends too on which filipino dialect, this also applies to ha, ba, etc.

"ha" at the end of the sentence is kind of similar to how some people end their sentences with "okay". It's not a direct translation, but that's as close as I can explain it. 😂 This is also the first time I've ever heard kangkong be referred to as "morning glory" since I know it more as "swamp cabbage", but that just goes to show how different regions/provinces call certain things. Amazing.
As for that similar dish Sinigang reminds you of, it might be Tom Yum (Goong) from Thailand. 😂

The shell is not taken out because it adds more flavor to the soup, also keeps freshness/ suppleness to the shrimp-- for a 'french' method-- your option of peeling first is done but also, squish flavor out from the shells separately , filter, then put back into the soup. What's missing there is gabi-- root crop/ yam , boiled into soup to mush-- this would make it cloudy ( also with fresh tamarind with flesh, softened to mush, filtered later ) but with more texture, then, also atsuwete seeds, filtered-- will bring it to a sublime dimension
yup. sinigang with deshelled shrimp will have so much less flavor

Hi Jonathan, when someone finishes the sentence with 'ha' it's an assumptive close and you are expected to say 'yes' or 'okay' to the other person hahahaha. In some context, it can also be used to ask someone to repeat what they said.

Shrimp shell adds more shrimpy taste on the soup..if you want to remove the shell,sauté them with the shrimp head,add water,strain then use the soup for your sinigang

And you will lose the shrimpy flavor when you removed the skin and head before cooking.
Makes sense about the shrimp. I'm going to try that next time.
