  • Don"t have a drill? NO PROBLEM! These Bluebird House plans are designed with a slot entry, so a drill is not required. It is a very easy design to build with only a hammer and a saw. This is a standard design that is very popular. We also include a link to the plans that will explain all the dimensions and angles needed. To build this Bluebird House you will need a saw, a tape measure, a square, a hammer and nails or screws. The video and the PDF Plans together should make an easy build. If you enjoy seeing Bluebirds, build one and enjoy!
    The Plans for this house can be found here:

    The Bird Watcher’s Digest says to inset the bottom to keep rain water from seeping up into the box.

    what style opening is the best , i have heard that english sparrows do not like the slot entrance style and they try to steal bluebird nest boxes with the 1.5 inch hole designs

      What style is best is a matter of opinion. I personally like the round hole best but I don't have a large enough aera to test it. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    What’s the distance between the top of the front panel and the hanging roof.? I thought the bluebird had to have an 1-1/2” opening.

      @DIYwithWayne  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you drill a hole it should be 1.5 inches in diameter but if you are building with a slot, it needs to be 1 1/8 inch opening. With the extra width they can easily get in and out. Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

    What is the distance from the top of front panel to bottom of roof? Would the roof angle decrease this distance? I thought the bluebirds were to be 1-1/2”.
