Hi Michelle, thank you! It can take several hours since the ice maker will need to freeze the ice. But a hopeful sign is hearing the water line running. It at least means the ice tray is filling with water.
Hmm it could be icing in the tube that leads to the water fill spout. It would be a pain, but you could unplug the fridge and let it defrost and see if it helps. If not, the ice maker fill valve would be another culprit.
What exactly was the problem with your icemaker? I have a similar model that stopped making ice this week and the motor will hum and act like it’s trying to cycle but that’s it we are not getting any ice I’m not sure if it’s the icemaker or if it’s not getting water the water dispenser in the door does work
Hey Brad, i think the most likely problem are the gears that are linked to the ice ejector fingers are damaged. It’s probably why you can hear the motor humming. Try using your cellphone camera with the flashlight stick it into the ice maker space and take a pic check to see if there is ice in the tray. If there’s ice stuck in there, this could be the problem. A less likely issues is the heating element isn’t working and the cubes are stuck in the tray. Check out this video. th-cam.com/video/wF3gtLOxVFc/w-d-xo.html It’s a complete disassembly of the ice maker unit. Maybe it’ll give you some ideas on how to zero in on the problem.
BRO!!!! YOU SAVED ME A LOT OF MONEY IN CALLING SOMEONE!!! YOUR AWSOME, THANKS!!!!
Nice! Good job, and clear to hear you saved some $$!
Thank you so so much
Thank you very much!
You’re welcome!
Is the bottom ice maker the same part as the top ice maker? And does it remove the same way?
Hi, useful video! I just replaced my ice maker, how long should it take to start making ice?

@@thriftytani46 thanks for the quick reply! I will keep an ear out!
Trying to troubleshoot mine. It's not getting water to the tray. The water dispenser works though... Any thoughts?

Where is that valve?
@@davidyarbrough6426 Did you ever find where the fill valve is located. Mine is doing the same thing. Ice maker works but not getting water.
